Finding a bug isn't the same as prioritizing the fix. Not every bug is fixed, however, you can almost be assured if you found it, so did QA. Not every bug that exists in the game is there because QA didn't find it.
A good article and pretty much spot on. But really, this is just a problem with theme park MMOs. An open sand-boxed MMO people can play for YEARS because players create their own content.
I think this is a problem with most RPGs honestly. People burn through RPGs to see the end and to have the sense of accomplishment that I "beat" the game. People do that now, even with no one watching. In MMOs, you actually see other people's accomplishments and many people feel like unless they're also beating the game as fast, then they are not "winning".
I can get a hamburger at McDonalds for $1. I don't buy it, even though the price is really low. Shock and awe.
Just because a product has a low price doesn't mean it's going to be something I actually want.
Balancing in MMOs is constantly being redone and in flux. Even if they did "fix" it one patch doesn't mean it won't break in the next. Most every class has its ups and downs, times when its the FOTM and times when they're underpowered. Best get used to these currents if you're going to play MMOs, they don't go away.
The solution? Don't level as a healer. I heal in FPs and OPs, but when I'm out in the world just doing dailies or something, I respec DPS.
Healing is only really useful if you're trying to solo a +2 heroic or something. I do that sometimes with Xalek, but other than that I stick to a DPS spec while out in the world.
Yeah I'm really going to read through 9 pages of a forum topic that's mostly just QQ. Like I said, you aren't even talking about EA, but how Rift and TOR are different.
Rift was far from revolutionary.
And really, adding a few more skill trees isn't that big of a deal. If I make a new car with 6 tires instead of 4, I'm not a visionary... I'm just adding more fluff onto something that already exists.
The little bit I did read of your post, I didn't see anything that actually pertains to EA.
Just FYI, it wasn't Lucas personally who said Sidious was the most powerful Sith Lord ever, it was other EU sources: Vader: The Ultimate Guide, The New Essential Chronology, The Complete Visual Dictionary, etc
Marauder's are really fun, and do better DPS. The only real draw of an assassin is stealth, which can be wasted if you're playing with a friend who cannot stealth.
They won't even give 2 thoughts to the EU when making this movie. It'll be made specifically for the masses, most of which have no clue the EU even exists. Expect a movie in a similar vein of the new Star Trek movies: lots of action, good effects, and a simple (yet good) story.
If you're expecting it to be anything else, expect to be disappointed.
A parallel exists seamlessly and is woven into the story in a way that makes sense. A rip-off is when you shove something into a film for no rhyme or reason, just to have it in there.
They weren't parallels, they were blatant rip-offs. That's what happens when you can't write a story, stick things in there to try to distract the audience.
