Obviously, I'm subscribed so you still get my U.S. $15 / month but...

It has now been 4 months since the release of 7.2. I am tired of rotating around characters to not reach the cap on various currencies.

I don't enjoy wasting my time earning worthless currencies. My only solution is to reach the cap and and move on to a different game.

It boggles the mind as to why you want me to play other games. You can say, "Well, Dasty, we have your $15 /month!" to which I say, you don't have my CC coins.

Your overly convoluted gearing system means I play this game less. Think about that.

This makes no sense. Either you continue to play and hit a currency cap, or you play some other game and stay at the cap. In both cases you are at the cap. 🤔

not thermals. i can monitor all that and nothing comes close to overheating. and as i said its only with this game. its so weird.

"Thermals" is not always the result of 'overheating'. Sometimes thermal problems are just the result of expansion/contraction of components because of temperature changes. With SWTOR in particular, this can be more of a problem because of the extra load put on both the CPU and GPU.

Start by removing the GPU; inspecting and cleaning the contacts; and re-inserting the GPU making sure it is properly seated in the socket.

  3. I don't wear any complete 'set' in one sense. (Not that I have anything against it). All my characters wear mix&match outfits assembled from various pieces. For example, one of my favorites (fem smuggler) is Mira's jacket (white/gray) with Dashing Rogue pants (deep blue), Nightlife boots, and Covert gloves - plus a belt and wrists who's names escape me at the moment.

  4. What I ended up doing, after much fuffing around trying things, was to delete my SWTOR install and reinstalling from the website.

I removed SWTOR from D:Games\.... (where I had it) and did the new install to D:Program Files (x86)... (The C  drive didn't have enough room.)

I also temporarily moved the SWTOR folders from C:Appsdata\... and moved them back after the reinstall.

Now it works, but I can't say for sure how much of that procedure was truly necessary. 🙂

It happens sometimes.  If you get a security key app (any TOTP authenticator will do), you can completely remove the need to ever wait for single-use password emails.  And get 100 CCs a month extra.

Of course, then you have to put an extra password in every freakin time - hardly helps with quick log ins. 😁

OP: The One Time Password is normally asked for if the system detects a change in you IP address or sometimes a change in hardware. The IP address can change if you (or a hacker) try to log in from a 'new' location such as school versus home, etc, or if your ISP does not put a long enough 'hold' on your IP.

Sometimes it can also change if you upgrade and/or replace your computer's hardware - especially the motherboard. Sometimes it will change because of maintenance/upgrades at the ISP.
