  1. Aww, thanks Loftus. We appreciate the support. We can also say the same things about you...good leader, skilled healer, nice person and a whiz with DKP.
  2. I would like to formally apologize for calling out the guild <Remnants of the Jedi> this past weekend. My actions since Friday night/Saturday morning have been less than honorable. I wish I could take them back, and as such, I have been thinking about a message like this for the last few days. I acted out anger and spite. Because of that, many people may now have a very negative view of RotJ. Guild leaders often have to make difficult and sometimes unpopular choices leading up to difficult decisions. I will not pretend that I liked the decisions, but I can respect them because they were made for what was thought to be the best for the guild. The members of <Remnants of the Jedi> are good people, and are also competitive and passionate about SWTOR. Sometimes passions can affect the decision making process which ultimately hurt people. A prime example of passions dictating actions was my original posting, which has unfortunately also hurt people. It was uncalled for, and should not have been made publicly. I think that all people involved regret their actions, and wish that it had been handled differently. I have been stating that the issue was not really about the game itself, but about how to treat other people. This remains true, but I have not followed my own words. I was not accepting that people make mistakes, but they are still people and should not be treated poorly. Friends and family fight occasionally and no one gets along 100% of the time. This is a universal truth both in the real world and the imaginary, but it doesn’t mean that bridges can’t be rebuilt and fences mended. In the near future, you will probably see <Exiles of the Jedi>, and <Remnants of the Jedi> partnering for in-game activities, which will be a good thing. We all share a common history and passion for SWTOR that is more important than holding grudges, and harboring resentment. - Vitussi
  3. AND for our first official Exiles HM TFB, we completed 3/5 in about 90 minutes. Should have been 4/5, but sometimes RNG is a fickle mistress and that last 1% is REALLY difficult . Should hopefully be 5/5 tonight. Not too shabby for a 3 day old guild.
  4. The choice of guild name, IMO does pay homage to our roots and believe it or not, it is still a part of my "heritage" that I think is noteworthy. I am proud to have spent 10 years with the same group and to have known some really good people and players. Having a core group of people that has played over 3 platforms, has sometimes followed different paths, but all rejoined together again for SWTOR is something I am actually proud to have been a part of. That being said, I am looking foward to closing that chapter, and beginning a new chapter with <Exiles of the Jedi>.
  5. Thanks for the support and offers folks!! We have formed a new guild as linked above are in the process of setting up. We will be in contact with you shortly to try and coordinate cooperative, multi-guild runs of either 8 or 16 person varieties. Just give us a little time to see exactly how things will work out. Thanks.
  6. I'll be ingame as much as I can during the next week on Vitussi, to try and get folks re-guilded, as soon as possible. Thanks. Cya soon.
  7. Thanks folks, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. But it looks like I've found a home already. Many of the guildmates have joined together in a newly formed guild, Exiles of the Jedi and are now in the process of setting up shop. Thanks again. Moderators: feel free to delete this thread if you want, it no longer is needed.
  8. Hey folks, Due to recent events with my old guild, Remnants of the Jedi, (see "The Great Midnight Purge" for more details), I am looking for a new home and so will many of my former PvE focused guildmates that shared in much of the SWTOR raiding experiences. My main character is Vitussi, currently a 27.5k HP buffed shadow tank. I also have several level 50 alts (both Pub and Imp). None of my alts would raid-ready for anything beyond SM EV or SM KP at the current time, but with 2.0 around the corner that's not really an issue. By the time 2.0 rolls around I will have the following classes available to level and run Ops: Shadow tank, Jedi Sentinel, Imperial Sniper and a Powertech. I started Vitussi with RotJ, at launch during early access and has been a tank since the beginning. My SWTOR experience as a main tank includes all current content, with successful kills of HM TFB and unsuccessful attempts at NiM Toth and Zorn in EC. I began MMO's with Star Wars Galaxies (Vitussi Carbone of Naritus) and then moved to WoW after the NGE. I have extensive experience raiding in WoW, completing all content from the original level 40 raids in vanilla, (except BWL) through ICC (before zone buffs) and then partial content in Cataclysm before leaving WoW in March 2011. I prefer tanking or ranged DPS. I am basicallly a 85% PvE focused person, who likes to PvP for fun, but not be too serious about it as it is not my passion. I am available to run Ops from 8:00 PM - Midnight EST, Monday - Thursday, with 2 nights a week maximum (or my wife will kill me ). I am generally online during the weekends, but Friday through Sunday nights are reserved for family, social and other activities so I could not commit Operations on those days on a regular basis. If there are guilds looking to recruit a skilled player for 2.0 or before, I'd love to hear from you. I have bookmarked a lot of the guild websites from the Shadowlands already, but I have not yet had the chance to look closely at the Ops schedules, or the recruitment needs. If any guilds (Pub or Imp) are interested in a skilled, experienced player please respond with your website info. I would love to see if I might be able to fulfill your recruitment needs, and maybe bring over a few prior guildmates as well. Thanks.
  9. I'll make sure I let the other "displaced" former members of RotJ know where I wind up. I'll do my "research" on raid-times and dates, recruitment possiblities for a 27k+ buffed shadow tank, etc for the various recruiting guilds over the next week and keep you and others informed. Like you said, hopefully a lot of us can wind up in the same place since we had exactly zero seconds to try and coordinate things.
  10. You DO know who Drew Karpyshyn is right? He was one of the lead writers (if not the lead writer) for SWTOR, therefore I would consider anything he writes in the expanded universe books to be canon for the purpose of SWTOR. The EU has become something far greater from what George Lucas probably ever imagined, sticking to his singular vision is like wearing blinders.
  11. Not true. Here is one example. In the "Darth Bane Trilogy" (the 2nd book) Bane and Zannah are followed by a group of Jedi attempting to stop them from getting an ancient artifact, I think a Sith Holocron. One of the Jedi was a dual-wielding specialist who, ultimately was defeated. She was described as being one of the best Jedi ever to wield dual sabers. Drew Karpyshyn wrote the books, so I would think his "lore" to be accurate for the purpose of providing background for SWTOR. Again, in the Darth Bane books (book 1) Bane's teacher was teaching him about the advantages/disadvantages of single sabers, double-blade, and dual sabers. It provides a distraction to the enemy as well. Ultimately, a master of the force isn't really thinking anyway as the force is flowing through them, directing their actions. More damage doesn't always = more DPS. Hit every 2 seconds doing 10 damage = 5 DPS, hit every second doing 5 dps = 5 DPS. 6 of one, half dozen of the other. Not a valid point. Put a samurai vs a highlander with a huge 2 hander sword and see who wins. Sure the huge sword will do more damage in a single swing, but not necessarily inflict more total damage over a fight. Everyones first target in both PvE and PvP should almost always be a healer.
  12. I leveled to 50 as a PvE tank, finishing with the 31/0/10 build. Until you get Theran, practice bouncing agro between you and Qyzen. Also, use force run and any slows you have to keep out of melee range of the mob. If it is a ranged mob, try to use the terrain to your advantage and get out of line of sight of the mob, even if only for a few seconds. Use any and all available CC you have, whenever you have it. When fighting multiple mobs, and there are multiple active, even the short knockdown from Spinning Kick/Force Wave on your non-target can provide enough of a break in damage take to turn a fight from disaster to success. Whenever you see Holiday's CC, don't use an AoE and break it. If Holiday CCs and your only on one mob, stop attacking and just sit there. Let your force regen and Theran heal you. Keep your debuffs on the mobs at all times (unless they will break a CC), and always keep Kinetic Ward up. Use cooldowns at the beginning of a fight with multiple mobs, don't save them for that "oh $hit" moment, because at that point, its usually too late. This allows both you AND your companion to focus purely on DPS and burning down that first mob. At level 50, in mostly blue crafted Synthweaving gear (I have a mix of RE'd patterns with purple level 43 gloves still and a mix of blues up to level 49, with the majority at 45 or 47) I've been able to take on groups of level 49 mobs containing 2-3 silver strongs, AND 2-3 gold elites at the same time on Corellia in the Axial park section. You really need to keep on your toes not to break CC and interrupt your main focus, and the other mobs as well every time you can.
  13. Try bouncing aggro of the mob between you and your companion. Start with the companion with aggro, and when he gets beat down to 30% or so, pull aggro back to yourself. When you get beat down, have the companion taunt back until he is dead. At that point kite the mob as best you can using Force Run to gain space. Also, remember to use a slow on the mob and interrupt every time you can. Melee mobs are no problem, ranged are a bit more difficult to kite if you do not have obstacles to cause line of sight problems. Using this method I was able to defeat champion without too much difficulty.
  14. Hey folks, the new in-game tooltip says that Harnessed Shadows will proc 100% (2/2) on Slow Time and Project. I'm still only proc'ing with Project. Is this working as the new tooltip states for anyone?
  15. Thanks for the replys. I see my error, I was just looking at the skill trees and not necessarily at the abilities themselves. Telekenetic throw and Force lightning are learned at level 1 and I also mis-read the tooltips. I think I need to sleep more, but this game has kind of messed up my sleeping habits .
