  1. Thank you for looking at my posting. It worked and I am now a "meatbag". This looks like a good and fun group and I suspect I am going to enjoy being part of their team.
  2. I just hit level 50 this week and am looking for a guild. I am interested in "casual raiding" and other group type activities with a group of people who are enthusiastic and have a sense of humor. I enjoy seeing and mastering content but I am definitely NOT interested in "hard core, progression" raiding (been there, done that, didn't really like it). I have not tried much PvP yet (getting rolled by premade competition isn't my idea of "fun"), but am open to the idea. I saw several postings by guilds that are recruiting and several of them look like possible fits, but I am not certain whether my game availability meets their needs. So I am trying this approach. I started playing about a year ago and took a break when Mass Effect 3 came out and then went on to play Skyrim and a couple of other games. Recently, I wandered back to SWTOR and discovered again how much I enjoyed this game so I plan to stick for a while. What I am looking for is an acitve guild that has a sense of humor (gotta have this), a fairly regular schedule (so I can plan around it), and more than three people on when I am on (big problem before I went on hiatus). Note that I do NOT expect a guild to "carry me", gear me up, or otherwise cater to my whims (however, feel free to "cater" if you wish ). I welcome tips, advice, or instruction on how to do my job better as long as it is offered with a little courtesy. Also, I don't have a problem with probationary or trial period; you have to look after the best interests of your guild. In exchange for this, I can offer my own sarcastic sense of humor and my best effort every time we do something. I like healing (I think because I'm too lazy to DPS) but probably not the best healer in the game (at least according to SCORPIO). My typical playing time is most evenings from around 6:30/7:00 PM until 10:30 PM server time (later on Friday and Saturday nights). My quitting time is somewhat firm since I get up at 5:30 on week days to go to work (it pays for the game amongst other things). If you are interested, feel free to contact me in game (Hanasaku) or drop a note here. I look forward to hearing from you.
  3. I should probably post that I did in fact manage to beat this quest. I posted a detailed description of my solution on page 21 or so of the forum thread SilentKitty linked, but I will give you the short version here. Use Corso for ranged attack. Before crossing the bridge to approach Diago, put him on passive and turn off his jet pack. After the cut scenes and the fight started, I found a couple of unfortunate truths. First, I couldn't pull Diago out of the AoE. With Corso still on passive, Diago could easily outheal my attacks (I'm healer/Sawbones specced). Second, if I attack the Sith instead, Diago can easily out heal my attacks. So what do you do? Well, the answer is that there is a crate on the floor behind the Sith. Crouch or stand behind the crate and you will be close enough Diago for you attacks with a range of 10 meters and also outside of the AoE. Start attacking Diago and tell Corso to start attacking Diago. Take your time; there is no hurry. Keep vital shot on Diago and use plain old blaster bolts. You should be able to interrupt Diago's heal every other time with Distraction. Keep Corso alive as he will take some damage. Repeat until Diago finally dies. In my case, this took a couple of minutes. Now, put Corso on passive again, heal up, and let your cooldowns refresh (if you need to). Start attacking the SIth or the Jedi and tell Corso to start attacking. Restrict your attacks to Vital Shot and Blaster Bolts until she aggros on Corso. When she does, UNLOAD on her. Since I'm a Scoundrel that means get on her backside, Back Blast, and all of my other short range, heavy hitting attacks. When I unloaded on her, she was dead in about 10 seconds. Quest complete and I get to leave Tatooine having once again saved the Republic and the Galaxy from certain destruction.
  4. I finally got this stupid quest done. It wasn't as difficult as I first thought, but it only seems fair that I post how I did. Going in to this fight, there are two problems you have to solve. First, you can't stand in the AoE generated by the force wielders. This is bad for Scoundrels because our biggest attacks are short-ranged. Second, you can really focus on the Sith or the Jedi or Diago will heal them. The way I solved this is as follows. First, I chose Corso for his ranged attack. After clearing out the last pair of droids, I put Corso on passive and turned off his jet pack (important so he doesn't launch himself into the AoE and die in about 10 seconds). Then, I cross the bridge and started talking to Diago. After the cut-scene, I moved away from Diago and shot him to try to pull him out of AoE range of the Sith (my other intended target). That didn't work; he wouldn't pull. However, there is a crate on the ground to Diago's left and behind the Sith. This crate happens to be within 10 meters of Diago and out of range of the Sith's AoE. Stand or crouch behind the crate and start shooting Diago. Also, tell Corso to attack Diago and he will start shooting him. Use Distraction to interrupt every other heal and keep Corso's health topped off as he will take some damage from Diago. Also, make sure you keep Vital Shot up on Diago. As long as you interrupt every other heal and keep VItal Shot up, you can wear him down with blaster bolts and Corso's damage. When he dies, wait until you and Corso are at full health and energy with all cooldowns up and then start attacking Zare (or the Jedi). Tell Corso to start attacking the Sith also. It won't take long until you get her attention and she will break from the Jedi and start attacking Corso. Get on her back side, unload your shotgun in her back, along with a groin kick, and your other big attacks and she is down for the count in just a few seconds.
  5. Thanks for taking the time to reply. After I gave up last night, I realized that I had to separate Draigo from the force weilder's AoE. That means I either have to pull him out of there or first kill the Sith (or Jedi). I tried a couple of times to pull him, but I think I put Corso on Passive after he had already engaged Draigo and Draigo wouldn't move. I read the thread you provided and I think I have a better idea on how to do this now. Thanks again.
  6. I have a level 28 "Sawbones" Scoundrel and I simply cannot kill Diago Hixan. I'm tired of this crap and frustrated. I don't give a rip about finishing Risha's quest line anymore; I just want to move on. I had successfully done this quest back when Corso had Harpoon, but now I can't pull Hixan out of the Sith/Jedi AoE. instead, Corso just jumps right in there, get himself burned down and I can't do enough damage and heal interrupting to kill Hixan. I'm guessing that if I skip this quest, I am hosing my storyline. That would be a shame, but right now I honestly don't care. Either the game should give me a way to pull fatso out of the AoE or a way to burn him down. If not, I guess I can go back to playing Skyrim. Yeah, I'm pretty hacked off right now ...
  7. I would like to add my two cents to this conversation. A brief bit of background: I played WoW from it original release back in 2004 and I loved the game. However, I finally cancelled my account a couple of weeks ago and was determined never to waste any more time on another MMO ever. Then my wife gave me this game as a present and here I am again .... I absolutely love this game. I love the concept of having a story and having all of the in-game interaction that goes with that. I also like having companions, a clean and efficient UI (which still needs a few tweaks in my opinion). Also, the combat style was not what I am used to, but I'm starting to figure it out. I just did my first flashpoint today and was super impressed with the experience; we wiped two or three times but managed to figure out what we were doing wrong and finished it. The story added a dimension that you just don't get in any other game of this genre (at least that I have played). The fact that our decisions could alter the way the mission played out was terrific. In order for an MMORPG to be successful, it has to offer a reason for coming back: it has to be fun (not exactly rocket science). Two aspects that I find very important are the storyline and the social aspect. Right now, WoW has neither one. The game is a grind: level as fast as possible, grind instances for badges to get gear, to grind heroic instances for badges to get better gear, to start grinding raids to get better gear. The WoW instance finder just about ruined the social aspect, though thankfully WoW players have recovered their common courtesy to a large degree. But it is still a good game for millions of players and that is not likely to change in the foreseeable future. Besides, Blizzard is not incompetent and will adapt. Bioware definitely has the story aspect of this game down, and you can skip as much as you choose to skip. The social aspect has been a little slow to develop (people seem more wary right now). Also, the "end game" is a complete unknown at this point. But I plan to be here for a while. I may take a break when the Reapers get here, but this game is far better than I expected and I think Bioware is determined to be successful both as a company and artistically as well. I'm not trying to bash anybody; just my thoughts on the topic. Enjoy your time in the game of your choice.
