  1. Before a X-server tool is implemented please look into roll restrictions. So if an item is not needed by your class(and not your Companions or for mods) then you cannot roll on it. As when groups are all from the same server there is a little more respect between players as they know that they will play with the same players again. In X-server groups people know that they can behave anyhow they like and most probably never see the players in the group ever again. IMHO Bioware should consider server mergers before the introduction of X-server tools as it does help to find groups quickly but destroys cohesion.
  2. No end game content? The game has been out less then 2 months what do you seriuosly expect? And before you answer please dont tell me that pigs can fly or that you expect a fully fleshed out end game content, cos it does not work like that in MMOs, period. So in effect the complainers are ignorant and hence should be ignored.
  3. cya m8. With the amount you have played you need a break from the game to be honest. Come back in about 2 to 3 months and the game will be fantastic agan as it was when you levelled two chars to cap and one half way in a couple of months (play much do you?) Bear in mind that the second time around will not be as good. And oh in future dont play a game two times through and then say it is bad, if it was bad then you would not have played it twice, no? Cos you then sound like a hypocrite( a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings), which i am sure you are not ;-)
  4. More movies would be nice, but a series would be better. And it can be done (and be good) if the right people get to do it.
  5. There are very very nice people and there are very very horrid people. There are young kids playing all the way up to grown men, each with their own idiodyncrasies. There are educated people and uneducated people, lazy, scammers etc all playing. What makes it worse is that there is very little consequences to their actions. They can say what ever they like to whomever with out come back. That is when the true nature of a person can be seen. Just be yourself and deal with people as you think is right. If necessary try and join a guild, and you will be more or less shielded from a lot of nonsense. A few points you mention OP I have seen some ask "can someone explain the crew system to me" And the someone told him to check the Codec. That makes sense, as it would take a long long time for some to explain all the stuff related to crew skills in general. With regards to Pvp in MMOs, there are two type of groups there are random groups where there is basic cooperation in the team play and there are "pre-mades" where there are voice comms or at the very least a coordinated way of playing. More or less people are helpful and you will notice this the older the game becomes. Another option is to play on a RP server where the immature people tend not to go, lol since they simply dont have the patience!
  6. The human eye cannot register anything over 24 fps, so 25 and 90 look the same that is a fact. Graphics do not run at a constant frame rate and some times dip below the mark and this is then picked up by the human eye. I think TVs run at 24 or 25 and are constant, you dont see any fps issue there.
  7. Over time MMOs have become easier and easier or you could say more "accessible". Accessibility means that you can do things quicker, this started more or less with the introduction of fast travel points and progressed from there to what is general referred to as "lobby mmos"(there maybe another name for this but can't think of it just now), where you sit in a general area and get teleported to where ever the action is. As you say there are all kinds of expectations, the two ends of the spectrum are players that expect to run through a group scenario as quickly and as effortless as possible and get quite irritated or even quit at the slightest hint of difficulty, quicker they finish and get the loot at the end the better. There are some that truly relish a challenge, more the challenge the better, the loot at the end is of secondary concern. SWTOR is a game that is bring together a variety of people with a massive variance of experience, this is due of course to the attractiveness of the Star Wars IP and the game producing excellence of Bioware. There are hard core raiders mixed in with people starting out MMOs for the first time and are unaware of what Need/Greed mean for example. It is indeed a facinating melting pot lol. I myself prefer a challenge and enjoy playing in groups facing tough opposition and where we have to join together to over come these obstacles. The group becomes greater than the sum of it parts and when all objectives are complete there is a sense of accomplishment. Honestly I do think that sometimes people would like it so easy that they turn up at a group scenario and simple loot the a chest at the start lol!
  8. Dont care what it is called, an MMO, a single player game, call it an ipad app if you like. I enjoy it and will pay the sub. If you dont enjoy it dont pay the sub, simples.
  9. This OP is contradictory. It implies that gear = skill lol. Go back to WoW already with your elitism.
  10. Now is not the time to work on it, should have been a design concept, picked up in alpha testing or at the very least beta testing.
  11. Thanks to the OP for posting this, with all the required information to show the problem. It will be the defining element of this game, will it be a good game or will it be a great game. WoW is a great game for this very reason. SWTOR can be a great game, if this is addressed as a matter of urgency. What I do not understand is why it has not been addressed before? 1) It could be that they do not know about it. 2) it could be that they do not care about it (which I doubt) 3) it could be that they do not know how to achieve it, or are limited in some way. If i were developing a MMO, i would start from what made the best MMO the best and build up from there. I have played many MMOs and I must say that there is an issue as described by the OP. I do hope that they sort it out, to the standard of WoW on at least very close to it.
