I was playing with a friend who's a subscriber, and he was trying to create a new character, and spent hours trying names for character, being told every time that it was taken or unavailable. He said "This is the problem with Free to Play! People create a character, take a name, play a week, and never come back! They need to have a way of taking back names. It's making me consider why I'm still playing." I thought this was a good suggestion. I know that League of Legends does this. If a person hasn't been active in game in a given amount of time, they send a warning email to the player, giving them notice that unless they log in by [This Date], their Summoner name will be put back in the pool of allowed names. If the person logs on after that date, they have a completely random name (similar to how your characters here get random names if they transfer to a server that the name is already taken on), and are allowed to change their name, including going back to their original if its still available. I think a similar system would benefit your subscribers and help keep people interested. The email could entice/remind people to come back, and if they don't come back, valid names get added back to the pool for subscribers making several characters.
