  1. Also: I get the sense that what you guys actually don't like is somebody getting something that you had to grind hundreds of hours for. I respect that, but my interest here is solely in the quid pro quo. The content is several years old at this point, and Bioware is basically claiming to hold a fire sale of it while also hoping to bring attention to the expansion. My problem is that they're not actually doing that, and I think it's dishonest of them to claim that they are. The righteousness (or lack thereof) of having to actually play the game is not the issue here for me, nor would it be for the people I'm trying to warn off.
  2. This is the precise text of Bioware’s messaging: “With this fast pass to Level 55, advance 12x faster as you immerse yourself exclusively in class story missions.” My comprehension of that is based on plain English. I don't think assuming that people need to bring a greater depth of perception to it is a fair representation of truth in advertising.
  3. Agreed! Some kind of scaling gear would be much appreciated.
  4. Wait, what? I have no doubt you are a better SWTOR player than I am - I'm probably totally average, which I'm sure to a serious player such as yourself is 'bad' - but if you're level 46 in only six hours, there has to be some other factor here. I'm lvl 39 in something like 13 - 14 hours. Maybe what others have said - that BW put this in more for people who already have multiple 55s, and are very experienced players - is in fact the case. Six hours? Jesus. That's crazy. How could you even move around the maps that fast?!
  5. It is possible that we are not capable of understanding each other, unfortunately. I have no idea what you mean by an 'enhanced levelling experience'. I think maybe the issue is that SWTOR attracts two extremely divergent groups of players: People who really admire the production values and narratives it has to offer, and people more attracted to it as a game / MMO. And then there are the really lucky people, who love both. But even people only interested in the narrative want to experience the actual playing of the thing! YouTube is not the same as actually getting to experience it, even if the interaction is minimal.
  6. This is pretty much it exactly. It's a lot more fun to play and go through the options yourself. I always ESC before conversations end just to go back and see the other dialogue paths. The writing is great. To me, getting to do that for 8 really good stories was totally worth subbing and buying the expansion (which I'll probably never even play...!) for. But I thought I'd get to skate right through it. I figured that was the whole point of the boost! And I imagine a lot of people will think that.
  7. FWIW, I've been buying greens off the GTN. It's not enough. You aren't rocking much of green anything by the time you're 38 for real, ai?
  8. But I don't feel fortunate! Because this isn't what I thought it would be like! If I have to play the game more or less straight up from 38 - 55, that isn't what I thought I would be paying money for! And I think Bioware knows that and they're doing it anyways! And that's kind of boo-urns of them! And people should know! That's all I'm saying.
  9. Agreed. If it was 12 XP across the board, I think I could roll with that. Would do a few FPs and warzones for fun.
  10. This is a fair question that I think a lot of you guys are providing helpful suggestions about. The answer, and the reason that the ideas you guys are having aren't really relevant to me, is simple: I don't actually want to play SWTOR. I literally just want to see the stories and crash through the whole game with absolutely no meaningful amount of difficulty whatsoever. I recognize that Bioware doesn't explicitly say that this is what the experience will be like, but I feel like it's sort of implied? Certainly I feel like a lot of people who are exactly like me will think so, and fall for it. My post was really only intended to warn people who have exactly my mindset. The insidious thing is also that it's super easy at first and then slowly gets harder. In other words, it's exactly like an MMO. You just get tricked into playing the exact thing you were trying to avoid. I gotta admit, BW is brilliant for that one. But thanks! If you guys enjoy playing, more power to you. I used to - I just don't now. But I would love to see all the stories. Sadly, this is not a way to do it.
  11. Hey everyone, For anyone considering picking up the pre-order and re-subscribing for a dainty jaunt through all of the class storylines you may have missed, please be forewarned: I am currently L38 on Quesh as an SI, and I am hitting the wall. Hard. Very hard. Without gear, things have been getting tougher and tougher for awhile now, but at this point they're pretty much impossible. It was workable when mobs and bosses were 2+ levels below me, but they're only a single level down now, and although I could be buying greens from the GTN a little more frequently, I still don't feel like this experience is within my expectations. I imagine a lot of you are considering making this leap back into SWTOR for the same reason I did: To just see the stories. If that's what you're looking for, I think you'll regret the decision. I definitely do. Thanks!
