I realize that and my complaint is as such. I just want to post my frustration with certain aspects of the services things with SWTOR. I have stated my frustration, but I will not be ugly about it nor was I. As your customer, please listen to our complaints when we given them to you and reply as soon as you can. Paying you money or not, without us, you would not be in business. I personally love the game, and would love to utilize Facebook or any other social media to enhance the fun. Here it is December 2, 2013 and no one has answered the same question to why Facebook Connect is not working. If this does not work anymore, it might be helpful to remove this feature or at least make underline comment saying this bug fix is in progress. I am not crazy about mind reading or the like. I am a paid subscriber, and I would like to have thing working right or show evidence the bugs are being worked on. Since no one has commented from the ones working on this bug, it tells me nothing is being done. How many accounts have been dropped due to lack of communication?

I have tried the compatibility mode on SWTOR under Windows 7. I am not the only one to post bugs and issues about Windows 8.1 and SWTOR. These issues could (but no smoking guns) be bugs with in Windows 8.1. If I remember right, Windows 7 and their SP1 packs had a lot of random issues that frustrated others. There are remedies that were posted to solve the Windows 8.1 issues, but they did nothing for me. What happened was the launcher would not allow me to even type in order to log in. Either the launcher needs to be updated to work with Windows 8.1 or just needs to be updated. The three DVDs of the game used the old Email and password as log ins. I can understand how old software can be an issue in connecting. Other games like Starcraft II has fixed this. The software I bought would not log in due to server changes and all the rest. After I downloaded the newer version, everything worked. Most importantly the SWTOR only shows the system requirements up to Windows 7. Again, if the game is installed under Windows 8 and works, then one updates to Windows 8.1 the game may work without any issues. This is also the case for Windows 7 and updating to Windows 8. It is the restoring (reformatting) a computer, and one installs SWTOR on a Windows 8.1 platform, things could different. Hard to see this for a layman's point of view, but for a technical person like my self (eight years at Lanier Technical College in Oakwood, GA under a certificate and three diplomas in the computer field), I see a big difference. Like Obi-wan said, "Most of the truths we cling to are told to a certain point of view." Going back to my original message: for ones with issues with SWTOR and Windows 8.1 (which I read a fair good many complaints and esquires to get this fixed for some time now), I have given my feedback on a possible temporary solution for ones that have Windows 7 per-installed to duel boot Windows 8.1. The big road block is to know how to or use a software in order to convert a dynamic disk to a basic one in order to duel boot. As many have learned--one cannot duel boot on a dynamic disk.

If works fine is you had it installed on Windows 7 and upgraded it to a Windows 8, but if you do a restore and try to install Windows 8 and upgrade to a 8.1, the launcher will say cannot log in. I have tried all the remedies on the community but nothing. Read other commits and complaints regarding Windows 8 with the game. No, Windows 8 is not equal to Windows 7 regarding this. That is why I have a duel boot of both on my computer, but if users do not know how change a dynamic drive to a basic one, then duel booting is impossible. If one has Windows 8 on their computer to begin with, then they cannot duel boot Windows 7. In order to duel book the older OS must install first and the higher/new one.

The ones working on this needs to get this fixed. More and more computers have Windows 8.1 already. The temporary solution is to know how to change a dynamic disk to a basic one. One can use partition software, but one really needs to know what is going on just in case of complications. Once one can change to a basic disk, then one can partition the disk and duel boot. A dynamic disk cannot duel boot. That means one cannot install Windows 8 along side Windows 7. I do not think one can instal Windows 7 on a computer that has Windows 8 already. That is an complex thing to install an older version of an operating system over a newer one. If the SWTOR game cannot work with Windows 8.1 soon, then we all can kiss the game good bye. Free or not, how can we play it if we cannot log into it?

What sucks the more, if I cannot log in soon, I might have to cancel my subscription. If the game worked under Windows 8 & Windows 8.1 with all the security software mention, then it is not my end. Before I had to restore my computer (anyone with MS Windows-- it is a requirement spite what software one has to prevent it), the game was working great, and I had a great fun with it. This is my first time I have been frustrated with the game itself. November 9, 2013 is my next payment. If I have nothing by or hear from anyone from the ones that are working on it, I will kill my account by November 8...six days from now. 5:17PM EST As of the new addition, it seems that Windows 8 has issues with SWTOR, but if I have any issues before November 9, i will cancel my account with this. I have Windows 8.1 (which has worked with the game before I had to restore my computer, but it was already installed on Windows 8 already before the upgrade). I am using Kasperky 2014 security which shows not quarantine of any thing including anything with SWTOR. I am using System Mechanic for my utility software (which was using before the restoring of my computer. My ISP is AT&T DSL ~ 6.0Mbps down & ~430kbps up. (recent speed test: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3074195086). My video card driver is ATI Radeon and up to date. My notebook computer is a HP Pavilion dv6 and a year old. Processor is a quad. I hope this information has explained that there is nothing that is the cause of the issue regarding my end other than I cannot get the updated software to log in. First of all my ticket number is 10591742. Second, I uninstalled everything and reinstalled the 3 DVD disks. third, I done all I could even under safe mode. When I relogged, I started the launcher and it updated the launcher. I can enter my display name and password, but it will not log in due to this bug. Before I had to restore my computer, my operating system was Windows 8.1 and everything was working with the game. It was even playing in Windows 8 before I upgraded to Windows 8.1.

When I use the map on a 2-D plane, it works find and dandy, but when there are options for me to move up, down, left, right, forwards, or backwards (a 3-D direction), then the 2-D map can be hard to use. I am sure it is hard to have 3-D map since we are already in a 3-D virtual word, but it would be helpful to have a map to know when the target(s) are one what level regarding this 3-D virtual world when using the map. Either a live action like an arrow or a color static coded key to let us know where in the 3-D space the destination marker is located. Thanks.

I think the issues that people have with any new operating system is that they put in a computer system that barely makes the grade. This is not Microsoft's responsibility. My suggestion is buy a new computer that has Windows 8 in it than upgrading-- unless you are a computer geek that knows a great deal about computers. The ones that goes out and buys a new OS or whatever are not businesses. it is the individuals in private homes. Spite the software that tells you that your system can use Windows 8; note, that is a bare bone scan. I mean it does not know all you will be running on your system like security software, office suites, games (like SWTOR), etc. There is always a lot more to upgrading a computer system than an operating system.
