I'm just puzzled how this is supoose to be a new feature. Gain levels, buy things. Yay?
-
For a new, and much touted system, it seems pretty much the same as leveling up a character and buying stuff when you unlock new skills / gear tiers. Am I missing something? Cuz right now I'm a bit miffed as to how they see this as a feature / selling point for the game.
-
Its pretty clear at this point that legacy was just a big waste of time and resources. Its adds absolutely nothing to the game. BW should be embarrassed.
It's nothing. I thought they were promoting a system, but instead we got shops that unlock with levels, just not the normal level.
-
You unlock it with legacy levels OR cash.
http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/the-old-republic-legacy-system-handson/
It really sounds like Legacy only unlocks the ability to spend cash on things.
-
because there isn't enough CC in game already? Wait..forgot its pve only..but most bosses are CC immune..so it really helps nothing.
You need your pet out, so really how often are any of these really going to be used in a "meaningful" way.
-
And the smugger ..gets a kick..lmao..this has turned out to be a useless feature
It's a pretty good stun. To be honnest.
-
From the arcticle it really, really sounds like all Legacy levels do is unlock the option to buy (with credits) things.
-
So you need Legacy levels AND the money?

LOL go do something usefull will you go play my little pony or something else .
That is made for babies , you know and avoid those baby toys who even have more then 8 buttons to press.
Cause it is too complicated for you .
Gee talk about a admiting lazyness ..
This is the reason that bioware doesn´t want macro .
So you want a game with 30 buttons /choices + but able to be compressed into 8 buttons.
Talk about being a hypocrite . go play MOP or other simple games .
Sorry or learn to keybind , priortise and most important adapt by playing a game.
If your memory fails you to press more then 8 buttons , I do not want to know .
How you can even use a keyboard , it has over 100 buttons .
Macros ARE in. Just not for everyone.
-
Good point, LOL! They jointly market the Razer macro keyboards then say 'oh wait, we don't want to add macros to the client'. Perhaps they're trying to get people to buy the macro keyboards instead?
I wouldn't be surprised if they had a deal with Razer to not have in game macros. I'm convinced that the "no macro" decision is an editorial one, and not a design one.

Often times at the end of the night when I'm too lazy to treck to a planet from the Fleet, I'll try to find a hidding spot and give 20k to the first player below level 15 that dances infront of me. Or I'll inspect players untill I find someone who could use a crafting mission / schematic, and just give them the item.
But frankly the most fun I have is going to lower level planets with my sith healer and just following players and healing / bubbling them when they need it.

The fleet is sort of the hub for max level characters, so it's normal you see more people there because more people are max level.

is there any game out there these days that offers a challenging end game post wow, we are talking about a market mostly made up of casual players, I don't see hardcore type end game like in the old games, really going over well with the masses, don't get me wrong I enjoyed that content back in the day, and i would enjoy it today, but the market has changed allot over the years, I think the options in this game, are nice for the average player, but true harcore end gamers, are gona blow through most end game content in any game pretty fast.. I am niether here nor there there on the matter, I still have to try the nightmare mode..
Which game pre wow had challenging end game content? Arena in WoW is still the most challenging thing I did in an MMO and I've played most of the "hardcore" MMOs.
EDIT: Hell getting out of bed at 4am was the hardest part about raiding in EQ1.
-
Well thats just another can of worms itself.
I would be content with endgame if pvp was actually smooth in this game. You know what I am talking about. The lag fest that is ilum.
As an avid fighting game fan, I assure you praticing the same combo for hours because the timing is a fraction of a second tight is more rewarding than doing the same skill rotation in an MMO.
-
Try a fighting game, or a game you fight against players and not scripted AI.
-
MMOs are pretty easy unless you go for arena style PvP.

A reoccurring complaint is the travel time, enough so that the Q and A addressed it. Saying it shouldn't be much of an issue because some people can access a shortcut is a bit fallacious. And this is coming from someone who has an iPhone and the app.
-
Nerf piano handlers. Way op.
-
Someone gets it yay!
A lot of people dont realize that the forum qqers are usually the vocal minority. The vocal majority is playing the game.
A staggering amount of people don't realize that the forums are the place to qq.
-
THIS outstanding!
There are only 2 types of forum posters. They are:
1: Players who are never happy and come here to just complain and threaten to quit the game.
2: Players who love the game but are now stuck and work and unable to play. So they come here to try and convince the complainers to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Less complaining more enjoyment!
3- People who like the game well enough, don't plan on leaving per say, but think things could be improved.
-
It's a nice thought, but some people will always feel entitled to have things given to them.
That's like winning at a scratch and win and telling people they should work hard for their money...
Edit: While being as condescending as possible.

Excellent post good sir.
Asside from the fact that he has no idea what the OP meant by seemless.
-
So.....go do that.
Maybe, and this is just my guess here, BW would rather players vent on the forums and stay subscribed, then follow your advice and give their money to the compitors. I know I'd rather BW get more money so they can keep improving the game.
-
The fact that your friend created a Blood Elf paladin period makes him lose all creditability.
Yes, he's the one in this discussion losing "creditability". Also is "creditability" the ability to use, or the ability to manufacture, credits?
Most of the new legacy features cost lots and lots of CREDITS?!?

Sell it to me then. Make me believe that this is something that was worth the wait and anticipation.
