  1. Seriously i won´t go through any phrase of the game just to check out if there is some extra stuff or not. I already told possibilities to go through, just let your imagination working. Being like "Ähhhh not possible because...." is just dumb sry. And i´ve never said that they don´t have to change anything. It´s obvious that minor-adjustments are needed in a couple of dialogues, but no complete overhaul of the story or lore in general. As been said, throw them into smuggler or agent story if you want. Create some standard-phrases in general for future races and classes. I seriously dunno why this is actually discuss-worthy. Even calling a voss-inquisitor "Dark Lord", why not? Is there any relevance to the council? I don´t think so. You´ve done a lot until Rishi on Makeb and Oricon to be treatened as a Lord i guess. And as you´ve written by yourself: Some things are already wired. I don´t even know why it´s possible to play something else but human or sith at the empire side before Malgus plays the traitor to change such things, which is in fact multiple times picked up in the story later (like Cathar on Makeb or Major Anri). So far things aren´t 100% perfect and will never be anyway. The original suggestion is just something that actually can happen to stay lore-friendly and to not break the mainstory since stuff like that has always been the "excuse" to say "Voss will never happen because....". And sorry but i´m seriously tired of this pointless conversation, when it´s clearly possible to make changes wether you like it or not. I personally don´t want to change the mainstory or kill the lore as a whole, so yes... don´t give us voss as starters, make them somewhat special. (Like my OP suggests.) Is it 100% perfect? Dunno... probably not and the execution won´t be aswell. Should we take old heroics or so into account? Maybe, but even if we don´t... if you really want to throw new possibilities to the game into the bin, because of some dialoques that are not even part of the mainstory-lines, then i dunno what to tell you. It´s a game and even if i can understand that poeple put so much weight on a story etc... i can only repeat IT`S A GAME. And if you really have a deeper look at it, then the game is full of weird story- and design-choices which obviously got sacrifized for the gameplay. But hey, poeple still enjoy it in its core, no matter if a bountyhunter killed an undying emperor, or that 8 players need up to 10 minutes to kill 2 tanks in denova, when some force-users could easily throw them away etc.... If you really want to treat it with 100% perfection, then you shouldn´t play the game. But if such a suggestion will happen, then i´m sure Broadsword will take care for a bunch of possibilities to keep it somewhat correctly with the main-storyline. It´s seriously not my job to do it, just because i made a suggestion that could make it happen.
  2. Lana and Theron has a pretty normal conversation like "Hey i´m Lana a sith Lord, this is Theron, we´ve discovered etc...." The whole KOTFE arc is "the Outsider". Arcann don´t even know who you are. It´s Valkorion knowing who you are and ofc Lana & Co.. But even there the phrases are limited af until you become Mr/Mrs. Alliance anyway. Yet again there is nothing wrong to rewrite some phrases where they exactly say "Wrath of the emperor" or "Darth Nox". And as been said, they could also pick something more neutral like smuggler or so. They could even go the route of to be like "Hey Darth Malgus killed agent cipher 9 on Ilum. We need someone to fill the hole and a voss who left his home could be a perfect "Nobody". I really don´t get why it´s so hard to believe that there are a lot of possibilities to introduce it correctly without killing the mainstory at all. Also the story only behave correctly on its own per character thanks to a couple of choices. There is a mainstoryline the game is following, but a lot of little custom-choices which are made by the player, so why should it be impossible with a character starting later? As been said to the other guy, please stop making it a bigger issue than it is. Work is needed ofc, but not that much as poeple can think of. And in the worst case they could take such new introduced "standard-phrases" to even bring more races and classes with starting level X into the game and leaving the original stories completely untouched.
  3. 1) The request is about deleting bonus-missions "because they´re pointless if you don´t get enough credits to QT."Actually such a request is kinda pointless since this is a game where the player can pretty much decide what they do and what not. 2) Everyone can do those missions again. Ofc it´s "harder" for newcomers, but isn´t it still up to their decision if they use QT or not? Do we really have to talk about something endlessly which is in the players hands? 3) It seems to be about everyone or QT in general in your opinion. I mean you brought it up with QT on the fleet etc... Yet you seem to ignore that it´s still easier to make money even without trading than it was in the past. I mean yes, they could give super fresh accounts a buff that let them pay 50% less QT costs for the first 24h playtime which works only on the first character made. There are ways to help them out. But removing quests just because someone don´t want to travel back manuelly is some kind of a joke. In a lot of cases you could just die and go back to the medcenter if that minute of time is so important to you. Repairing gear is not necessary while leveling, you´ll get new stuff fast enough. But in general...once done with the first, MAYBE even the 2nd planet, noone will ever have some issues with money again. You´ve to QT on purpose pointlessly all day long to do so or waste your money on something that is actually not needed in the leveling process. The game has dozens of options and added dozens of QoL features. You could even farm heroics with your new char without spending any credit until you´ve finished them all thanks to all the free ports available. I mean... if you wanna troll yourself or so?! I still run a level 15 appearence on my main with my old sabers since i´ve been the only one with red/blue crystals and darkV back in the days when it shouldn´t have been possible. The outfit looks great and nostalgic is strong ofc. An alt wears the soldier-armor which is only available at the collectors-vendor or so. Another one wears cartell-stuff yes, but i got it by the old packages and / or buying it with abonnement-coins. My newest toon wears some mix of crafted gear and the one from the gree event. There are dozens of cosmetical options that have nothing to do with the cartell-market or the GTN. And in the worst case you could ignore the overpriced GTN and just pay into the cartell-market if you need stuff so badly. And it´s actually the easiest time to get into strongholds. I remember when they got released and we started to grind several materials and money to unlock tatooine completely. Flagships cost was 50millions if i remember correctly just for the base, what does they cost now? Is it 4millions or something? I already told enough ways to get money in the game and yes, even without the GTN there are dozens of possibilities thanks to planetary heroics and multiple daily-zones. What had we back in the days? Black hole, Oricon and CZ? Something like ~2 millions max per week if you did them every day? And they´ve been slightly harder, so far took more time than now with the joke of downscaling the game has imo. Again, i can see why newcomers can get feared once they interact with the GTN and i still want players to set stuff on normal prices since noone needs those billions. But in general the inflation makes also sure that you can unlock pretty much everything in the game super fast, no matter if we talk about strongholds or the legacy QoL-features. And removing bonus missions just because someone can´t decide if the minute is worth it or not is a completely joke. It´s a videogame, it´s not worth it anymore at some day anyway.
  4. There is no reason to exclude it from multiplayer, daily or heroic content. Only the planetary questlines might be different could be locked. That´s why you need a character that have done the story to point X to actually unlock the questline for playable voss. It´s pretty much the only way to introduce them lore-friendly, no matter if you unlock them at 50, 60, 70 or 80. But there is seriously no reason to be picky in kind of content that has not that much to do with the original class or planetary storylines. If you want to go so far to change some phrases on FP´s or so, do it. But seriously we beat or free Revan million times, defeated Malgus a million times, changed the character appearance / race, play rep classes on the empire side and in the worst case have an emp and rep class on one character etc..... I do think it´s important to keep the story somewhat correctly in general, but at some point it´s still a game y`know.
  5. You don´t port to the terminal if you use travelling in the menu, when you´re already on the planet. You only get the weekly into your log. Overall porting here and there is easy done, but it´s still kinda pointless that the quests don´t carry over or even reset midfight if you do them around the reset-time. OP has a point, even if it´s just a small thing. A reset might be even fine, but here is no reason why quests should leave your log if you haven´t done them.
  6. Captain sounds pretty standard doesn´t it? As been said, changing that bit amount of phrases Makeb onwards shouldn´t be a big deal if needed. The game had way bigger changes in the past. Please stop trying to make a bigger issue out of it than it actually is. There are more than ways to add stuff to the game or even to expand the existing storylines with just a low amount of changes needed, that don´t even have an impact on the existing stuff.
  7. There is a base storyline, but it also changes based on your class and decisions. Everything beyond the origin-stories is also the same for everyone. There are some phrases like "Oh Lord Nox" or "Wrath of the emperor", but they aren´t that common and even then they could go some "standard-route" which relies more on the smuggler or so. What actually would matter the most is meeting Sana Rae at the alliance or later Malgus since you haven´t defeat him on Ilum. But even rewriting that handful of lines isn´t that big of a deal. There is nothing which would kill the whole story or change things drastically in general. Some adjustments have to be made for sure, but it´s far far away from rewriting the whole engine or complete story-arcs. Even in the whole KOTFE/TET series, which eats the most ressources story-wise, you´re the outsider in 99% of all times. But hey, wouldn´t mind if they would add voss now with starting level 75 aswell. It´s so or so the perfect timing to introduce them as playable race and to finally add a new class thanks to the new system.
  8. Well but SWTOR is a MMORPG and making chances or additions is what keep those games attractive. And i also doubt you read here propely aswell since i can´t even follow your claim. Why in hell is the whole engine in the need to be rewrited? Because we add a new size? Starting at a higher level with a short storyline is absolutely no issue to add. It happened more than enough times. And how does the story-system is not designed for that, if i pretty much want to skip the whole arc until false emperor to introduce voss lore-friendly? You may explain yourself.
  9. You should read properly. OP doesn´t fear to miss out some, it´s that he always has to backtrack to pick them up again. And yeah, that such quests or dailies completely dissappear on reset is kinda nonsense, especially if you´re doing them imo. Just let them carry over.
  10. Seriously NO! Again, poeple have a storymode to go through. This is made for everyone, Vet and MM are only made for achievements. That content will always be somewhat easier as healer or tank is no mystery in pretty much any game. As long as encounters don´t have an enrage based on needed dps, you won´t have much trouble to survive playing those classes. But it doesn´t mean that it´s impossible to play dd, you just need to use your skills and you´ll probably kill stuff faster. I played through a couple of MM chapters as marauder / sentinel yet. I only died at the 2nd one of KOTFE 3 times for now. (Yes i make a list due the upcoming threads about it.) The first death was because i underestimated the 2nd add-pack. I jumped in without using anything asap. But since then i didn´t had any trouble doing packs again. All you´ve do to is to interrupt them asap. This is easily done the most times with the smash on warrior classes, or as another example the mass-knockback on sorceress / assassin. In general just use CC asap and / or jump in with a def / shield and rotate from pack to pack. The other 2 deaths was at the endboss, the Monolith. I didn´t had much trouble to bring him down, but i failed to rotate my defs properly, which is highly needed since Valkorions passive heal is not enough. Also forcestealth seems to bug the boss a bit out, but at the 3rd try i rotated my defs better and killed this big guy. The following chapters aren´t that hard thanks to companions. The 2 guys in the 3rd for example are pretty easily killable since lana can take out one for a couple of seconds while i nearly killed the 2nd. The only thing which is kinda curious, is that the companions doesn´t seem to scale well, or it just bugs. When i played it first on storymode with my main, Darth Marr came with level 1. Playing it on MM on my toon right now, he immediately came with level 28 in chapter 1. So i thought it´s some sort of scaling for the more challenging modes. But Lana / HK and Koth came all with level 1 again. Probably because they´ll survive by any means and you can use / level them properly? Dunno.... but that´s actually the only curious thing about the difference in story / MM. The only classes right now i can think of having really huge issues with bosses might be the sniper / gunslinger. All other classes have either some sort of shield + selfheal, a sick amount of defs and kiting possibilities. Maybe a dps assassin aswell, but this would be something to test. Overall MM feels like the challenge it should be and there shouldn´t be some magical droid carrying you. Same counts probably for Vet, which i can´t say properly imo. But as long as it´s easier than MM, it should be possible to beat.
  11. It´s fully ok to not knowing or remember everything. It´s just how my example went in reality... First try lasted in the dog dying asap, but the pligrim had 70% life and then bugged out with the shield once the dog despawned. Half of the guys just attacked the pilgrim for 3 more minutes, when i told multiple times in the chat that we need to reset. The awareness to the chat AND that they don´t do any damage was not a thing. So i shortly explained the most important mechanics, but in the 2nd try tanks lost aggro thanks to the guard or died to the dog caused by too many stacks. We did it in the 3rd or 4th try with a couple of deaths aswell and ofc more poeple than needed, but overall the awareness and read-abilities from a lot of players are so off it´s insane. Base-knowledge of atleast the class-abilities should be mandatory, but it often isn´t a thing because the games these days don´t force anything out of the player. I´ve been a complete noob when i started the game at release aswell. But i learned due to wiping, try and error, asking others and ofc reading my skills and practicing at a dummy. Such a self-growing is just missing an this is kinda sad. And then we´re at such situations, where kinda easy fights will become easier, because someone don´t check how it works and moan how difficult it is. (Sorry if it sounds somewhat elitist... it´s just that all games besides souls-like titles are made as easy as possible these days and it really sucks for gamers like me who prefer to grow at some challenge instead of smashing a win-button. Gameplay > rewards...)
  12. Oh you´re right, completely forgot about it. I wanted to take him because he was the main-sith on the Voss-Questline empire side. Well just use someone else instead i guess.
  13. The heroics are only put together at the terminal for QoL. This means there are still NPC´s giving you the quest around the planet. All you´ve to do is to going on and discover the planet by normal questing and you should nearly find every heroic at her place automatically without running back to the terminal each day. But away from this, i agree that they should be locked until you do them and count for the day you finished them. Same for dailies..... You may start them because you´ve time right before the reset, just to see them gone midfight caused by a time-stamp. It´s pretty dumb. It just breaks the gameflow. PS: Don´t forget to click on the exploration-missions tab on the map, so you won´t miss anything out.
  14. This is something i fully agree on. It should just made correctly and content shouldn´t be tuned down brainlessly. The game is already easy enough besides later Veteran Raids and overall all Nightmare-Raids. Poeple just need to learn and that´s not possible if it´s not even closely forced by the game itself. Enough MMO´s did the mistake for the sake of "accessibility" and suddenly poeple didn´t even know how to play their class or how the game works in general. They fail hard once entering the endgame and a lot give up due to getting flamed etc... Games should force poeple to slowly grow and interact with the different systems and circumstances, not to smash one button to win free rewards in 99% of its content. But i guess that´s just some "old thinking", which has no place in the future gaming-industry. EDIT: Just did the Nightmare Pilgrim this week for the season. We had 24 poeple and wiped a couple of times, because poeple didn´t know how this boss works. I explained it, yet still poeple were not able to interrupt the dog. Also one of the tanks gave the other guard "for less damage". That the dog suddenly turned and killed poeple was obvious. It´s kinda hilarious how low the skill-floor is these days and that players didn´t learn anything on their journey or are not even able to read through skills. Nothing against newcomers... but level 80?! And i seriously don´t want to know how many newcomers leave the game, because the leveling phase is so dull with the permanent overleveling, that they get so bored and close the game forever.
  15. I play simply marauder, there is no tank-specc. Have you read what i wrote above with the circles? Just run behind the first one, so she´ll run into it and get 20% damage + stun. Don´t damage her, so she won´t gain stacks. Run behind the second to do the same. Once done you may attack her for damage and tank it with defs. Once she has 30 stacks, she´ll do her aoe and you´ll get no damage at this point. Once the AOE is done, the 3rd void should be there, just get her into it. Otherwise you could also just run around the stairs in the middle to avoid getting hit by her and once a circle spawns, kite her into it. 5 of them and she is done without even touching her once. And if you really want to do the "smash in her face" tactic like in the stupid guide-video, just do it like this guy. Don´t stay on the ice, attack and hit her, pick a healing here and there. EDIT: And safe your stunbreak for the long cast where she is smashing on you.
