  1. I really wish we could get HK-55 back he was so interesting and loveable. Sadly I didn't return to SWTOR in time to get his return reward. Hope they add some way for the rest of us to get him back; I wouldn't mind another mission like the one for HK-51 (though I wouldn't enjoy the digging) and I'd be open to other possibilities too.
  2. I want to know if already existing characters will be able to romance a same gender companion, if and/or when Bioware releases such. I'd rather not have to start over because my old character doesn't have it, or I've finished all the conversations with them.
  3. We're more likely to be able to get access to the planet Manaan. It's the source of Kolto which acts as the main healing resource, and has been introduced before. And it's just like Kamino except we know this planet exists, it holds a large ecosystem we could interact with, and is much more populated.
  4. I understand what your saying, and there has been a little talk about being ablt to change the main aspects of your character after you've played them for a while; however I can't tell you if there is any news about that. And the reason I didn't add the Mon Calamari and Selonians is their species are too different then the base models to be used; which deeply saddens me since I love the Selonians. However I didn't add Selkath and Advozse for political reasons; The Selkath control the Kolto supply and their homeworld is part of the Republic I believe while the Advozse have a neutral government that you learn about in the flashpoint Hammer Station. And yes while short species can be cute, I personally love the Jawa and how they talk, they also don't fit the model and would be difficult to fight. The only way you can get those short models is through companions such as T7-01 and Blizz. And like I said those species just can't happen. The Voss are neutral, you can learn why from the Agent story, and being able to play as one would be unfair, possible but mostly unfair. Besides there's no real means to suddenly introduce the usage of the Voss after the major role they've already been given. And I agree that may be cool to be able to use one for a brief period of time but doing so would probably be a lot of work for little reward.
  5. T.O.R. announced they will be releasing the Cathar as a playable species in a later update, this led me to think of other ways character playing could be improved. To anyone who wishes to join this thread I ask you please reply with maturity and understanding. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ The main reason I wanted to this start this was the release of the Cathar species; the Cathar were a highly requested species and seing them not originally as one of the main starter species was surprising to many people. Now having them released will likely urge many people to seek to have new ones released as well. In the early stages of the game I often spoke out how I wished the Selonians would become a playable species. Now after seeing them I know that wouldn't be possible, but there still are a large number of species that could become possible for people to use, and there are some that can be improved. New species is one thing I'd like to talk about, but ways to improve them is the main thing I want to focus on for now. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ But before I go on about the species that could be accessible for us I want to label a few that CAN'T. For all those people who would've liked these, I'm sorry but I just don't think it can happen. I'm not going to try and go into every species but the main ones I know of that have already been introduced into the game. 1. Yoda's race = People this race doesn't even have a real name, it's just regarded to as the race Master Yoda is from. Besides they don't fit any of the character models in place, and do any of you wanna try and target a little green guy in PVP that only makes it to your knees? 2. Jawa/Tusken Raiders = For almost the same reasons as the one listed before, the Jawas are to small and they and the Sandpeople are mostly semi-sentient (Jawa's being much more so then the Sandpeople). 3. Wookie/Trandoshans = While very popular and loved, both of these species are mostly incapable of meeting the requirements earlier species have set to become playable (This mainly being they have to fit the current body types and be able to speak basic). 4. Voss/Gormak/Ehs-kha/Hutts = The use of any of these species would be difficult to customize and unacceptable (Primarily for the Voss, Gormak, and Hutts) because it would suggest they joined a side in the war. 5. Droids = Despite what you hear in the flashpoint Directive 7, Droids are not primarily independent thinkers and mainly exist to obey orders and work, which wouldn't work with most of the story options. Besides there are already cyborgs, do you really need more? _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Now that I've laid out the species I doubt will ever become playable I'm going to list the already released ones that could and why, and some personal favorites I also think could. Feel free to add some of your own thoughts in a post if they match the general requirements, and also feel free to disagree with the ones listed. Note, while I am listing these species I'm not suggesting they all be allowed; that's the designers idea and suggested to them by the players. 1. Chagrian/Nautolan/Togruta= The main issue with these species is their heads have extensions (Often similar to lekku) that wouldn't work with most headpieces, however since that often happens with Twi'lek it's not that big of an issue. All four of these species have demonstrated the natural skills used by all classes with at least one member of each species demonstrating skill in the force and/or blasters on both sides. 2. Ongree/Weequay/Nikto/Kel Dor/Kaleesh/Duro/Bith/Arcona/Devaronian = A large number of species known throughout the Star Wars universe, all of the species have already been introduced in the game and are known to be capable of using the skills of all released classes. One of the main issues though is that many of them have features such as hands, feet, heads, etc. that don't primarily work with the character model like the ones before this do. 3. Iktotchi/Shistavanen/Bothan/Jenet/Farghul/Sakiyan = These are all other species that weren't introduced when then the game launched. A few of them may be known to you but the others are somewhat lesser known ones that primarily follow along the guidelines for a character. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ The other item I wanted to focus on was ways to improve current character customization choices, in creating your character and playing as them. This means how your character acts, dresses, looks, etc. 1. Zabrak = This may just be me but I think the Zabrak should have more tattoo and hair/horn choices. In my opinion the tattoo choices for Republic Zabrak aren't as attractive as the Imperial Zabrak tattoos; this is mainly because the Republic ones don't follow much of a design seeming to just go in certain directions with light shading where the Imperial one's are distinctly colored and going in eccentric ways. The second part, I feel as if there aren't enough hair choices for the species also. 2. Mirialan/Miraluka = Like the one above, I feel as if there aren't enough options for the characteristics that make these species special. While there are enough skin options for the Mirialan they don't have that many tattoo options which are a key trait for their species. Likewise the Miraluka only have a few masks to select. 3. Tattoos = For tattoo's in general they only focus on the face, while this that big of an enhancement it's a noticeable item. It would work well in my opinion with the Zabrak tattoos since it could improve how they look, it would also be quite understandable with the Sith tattoos since it's not uncommon for them to tattoo their entire body. Another thing is tattoos can only be used by Humans and Zabrak, meaning no other species can access them. 4. Jewelry = An item only usable by Sith Purebloods and only creation, if it has enough or to few options isn't my concern, the problem is that only one species can use them and you can't wear them like an armor that can be taken on and off in the game. 5. Social Armor = A very enjoyable item, most social armors can be purchased in multiple pieces so you can choose how your character looks. However many of these armors only come in one color (Chestpiece) and there aren't that many of them in different forms. I believe this could be fixed by creating more social armor, or allowing people to turn already modifiable armor into adaptive armor so they could wear what was a piece of Light armor on a Heavy without the consequences. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Feel free to post your own opinions on what could be done to enhance character playing and customizing and discuss what could be added or changed to this list! _____________________________________________________________________________________________
  6. It's been awhile since I made a post here and I felt I should. With what Tenacity and I covered earlier in this thread, we just want to see improvements in the game and hopefully our favorite species. Yes there's a lot of debate over it; people want species that don't fit the requirements like Trandoshans and Wookies. People want species that completely don't fit the requirements like Voss and Jawa. And people are being ridiculous and apparently someone asked for a mountain from Endor that could cry. But let's all just say this, "I love this game, and whatever species that may be released will undoubtedly make at least someone happy." Of all the things we've debated about we've clarified these things about what would allow species; they MUST be able to speak Basic, they MUST be able to speak normally (A.K.A. no Gand), they MUST have human-like features, and they MUST fit already existing character models. Would I like to have a Force-sensitive Jawa, absolutely I've dreamed of it before actually; and there even is one in the game. Would I like to see more animal like species walking around, completely I want to see a Selonian shooting lightning at a group of Republic troops. Of ALL the species we've mentioned in this lively debate, below is the listed for the species we could have, I would want to have, and we could possibly have. Of course I'm counting the head, hands, and tail problems. Likely additions: Cathar / Weequay / Duros / Zeltron / Nikto / Shistavanen My desired additions: Selonian / Shistavanen / Cathar / Jenet (Simple as that, and in that order.) Possible additions: Kel'dor / Mon Calamari / Rodian / Kaleesh / Nautolan / Selkath / Chagrian / Bothan / Togruta / Devaronian / Iktotchi So there they all are, now be happy and enjoy what were given, and fight for what you want. LONG LIVE THE SELONIANS!!!
  7. Oh do be quiet, we Selonians can dig a trench in the time it would take you humans to dig out the grime in your nose.
  8. This game is, and likely will continue to, never be dull. I enjoy almost every moment on it. It is a breath of fresh air in the gaming world; lively graphics, full blown and impacting stories, and breathtaking work. I'm not a hard-core gamer, but I've played an excessive share, and I can make my character and give him whatever armor gives me a boost and I just continue on with the story. Here I actualy consider what my character will be like; what choices he makes and what he looks like. Usualy people would just choose wether they plan to be the games "Good" or "Bad"; here neither side is truley right or wrong and it's your choice. In other games you can choose wether to be a jerk or be fair; but here it actualy matters what you choose and people will react to it. And with different games that person is just that person; in TOR that person became ME, I care about how they act, what they look like, and what they do. Yes it kinda sucks with some of the classes, either your this or that and that's how it stays. As example if your the Inquisitor or the Consular you either turn into Healing/Buff, or Tank/Hidden. While the Agent and Smuggler lets you become a Hidden/Heal. I think it sucks you can't have similar choices for other classes, but I'm still loving the game. In short, it rocks and I'm going to be playing the world's fast growing MMO as it starts and for every upgrade in the future.
  9. Seriously...shut up. I've already said this before, literaly even look, they're not anything like furries! They are a sentient alien race, descending from feline like animals. We already have people running around with red skin, green skin, no eyes, red eyes, who cares if we decide to let some people have fur; some of us want to be anthropomorphic. Star Wars made these races to attract people, and it clearly attracted people, and some of us have always harbored the desire to be more connected to our animal instincts; so you have no right to insult something so completely natural.
  10. No one is expecting new species in the Legacy System, we even know that the system doesn't have any. We're just talking about species we'd like to see.
  11. So we've all clarified what we expect could be released pretty easily...but I guess I'm the only one dreaming for my Selonians.
  12. Off all the ones you said the only ones that would fit is the Zeltron and the Duros. The Arkanian can't due to their hands and super powerful intellect. Characters follow their own path, meaning they don't have perfect memory, inhuman detective skills, or any items like that. Clawdites give the character the option of suddenly changing their form, horrible idea. For Smugglers and Bounty Hunters, you're face is going to be known so the option of suddenly becoming someone else ruins the already made story lines. And four armed species would require entirely new graphics for using tools, interactions, etc. If you look at people playing as a Twi'lek you constantly see errors with their lekku, showing that Bioware understood it would take much more scripting to completely deal with the issue. So Bioware isn't about to jump for the next huge challenge when we still have one.
  13. Exactly, we see these things as normal because they happened first. If they suddenly gave a different name to the Sith Inquisitors we'd likely find it wierd and not as fitting, but only because we're use to the original. Nobody's required to suddenly start dating their companions or anything like that, so people can't argue about the relationships either. And all the races that would be made our sentient beings; so being one of them as your character and having a relationship is no different than dating the SW Vette, Trooper Aric, or the JC Nadia.
  14. But, not everyone follows the romance arcs. Also you can use races that could match the voice of your class, but fail quite miserably. It all depends on how the character looks, and there will always be people who love and hate how something is. You gotta remember, they can't please everybody.
  15. If you didn't hear before I'll sing the verse again. As of now there is no proof or even news that Bioware plans to add new species with the Legacy System. What we do now is that the Legacy System will allow us to use already existing ones for new classes, indicating that we can't expect race updates for awhile.
