Yeah, I for one would love to equip them with Electrostaffs and I hate that while removing stats from weapons for companions they removed so many customization options. It just doesn't make any sense.

Thanks for the explanation, but unfortunately the same applies to Electrostaffs. Companions who usually wield a double bladed ls are not able to equip anything else. Really bothers me...

As of 4.0 and the revamp of companions, it seems every companion who uses a double bladed lightsaber is not able to equip any sort of Techstaff. I hope that is a bug because I can't see a reason why that would be a thing, considering the weapon is only cosmetic anyway.
