  1. Hey man, you dont get it. Its working as intended! It's supposed to make you feel challenged! Aren't you having fun yet? If not then you dont know what fun is. (yes, that's sarcasm). PAR
  2. Ok well, I guess I can't argue w/ your lack of logic and seemingly non-articulate statement of falsehoods. Seems to me that you are pretty much the only one who loves this dynamic so good for you and I hope you enjoy playing it like this. Me on the other hand (and pretty much all the other posters but you), I really do hope its a bug and they fix it. Its poor design if it isn't. @Mithros I wholeheartedly agree with you. Getting "the" purple you want should be pretty damn hard. But apparently the chances for getting "the" purple are exactly the same as getting a purple you already have and that is just ludicrous in my mind. When you have X number of items that are possible in a random set, if you continue to keep the random set whole every time you attempt to get a value then you are decreasing your chances of getting the value exponentially each time you actually hit a value! We have a random of actually hitting a chance of getting a value and then a random of which value in the allotted set. That is just cruel lol. PAR
  3. Wow really Larkie? Seriously? Well then I shall just ignore any other things you might have to say because you completely reverse your stance in this thread: So, to gather the things you need you might have to play alone. Oh, and as for other MMOs, yes I've played those as well (was the 5th Jedi on Scylla thank you very much) and we're not talking about those, we're talking about SWTOR. Lazy to bring up apples when discussing oranges. PAR
  4. Again, you continue to make my point for me. This isn't about *you*. So please, if you find beating your head bloody over and over again doing the same thing thats your perogative. Yes, this is a *game*. Unfortunately it takes a long time to play plus its an MMO. Crafting is a decidely single-player experience. SWTOR crafting is even more so than other games. So this creates a dynamic that keeps you from the social aspect of the game even more than usual. Again, yes, this is a *game* so it should be fun not punishing. When you are successful at *playing* you should be rewarded, not made to feel your efforts are wasted. I honestly have no other complaints about this game. On the contrary, I am loving it. I know and realize there are issues but the game itself most definitely over shadows them all except this one (for me at least.. and this is my thread so it *can* be about me . If you dont like it make your own thread lol). PAR
  5. I apologize I really meant "Trolling" in my first response to you but now you confirm that my original statement was correct. Dude, some people have said it has taken over 60 REs to get a purple from a blue (I can easily confirm this). Have you seen what it takes to create a blue? On a server that doesn't have a huge population, you cannot lean on the GTN for getting your mats. That means you have to get all of the mats yourself and most blues (all in my case) require Underworld items. Since there is no other way to farm these except sending out your companions at $1700 a pop plus the time it takes for them to do the mission (and you cannot queue them so you have to be online in order to send them out), not only do you have a lot of time but also a lot of money invested in just gathering the materials. And when you finally get a successful message that you were able to get a purple schematic and then realize its for a schematic YOU ALREADY KNOW, you just wasted all of that time and effort. Its really not hard to do a randomize on the items you don't know yet and give a success based on those that are left. Hopefully this sheds some light for you. PAR
  6. Are you serious? You RE 60 items looking for a purple and you are lucky enough to get a message saying you were successful but it ends up being one you already know? There are many things I can say to belittle your statement but alas I shall not simply because I am assuming you're clueless PAR
  7. Yes this was just last night and I havent wanted to log in since. It didnt list the name of the schematic. I am attempting to RE blue earpieces. I have an Exactitude and a General's already, so I am assuming my successful attempt was one of these 2 and not one of the 3 I dont have. PAR
  8. http://oi42.tinypic.com/qq8orq.jpg Shouldn't this be labeled a bug? I honestly can't see a developer or designer being such a masochist that they would deliberately allow this. I have been spending so much time and money getting "the" schematic I want that its almost ludicrous. But, playing an MMO is ludicrous anyway so I just roll with the punches. But when I FINALLY get lucky enough to actually get a purple schematic from a reverse engineering attempt and I get the dreaded "You already know that schematic" message... what's the point? I have now received 4 of these over the past week of blowing my money, time and effort away. Unless this really is a bug, I see no reason of continuing... PAR
  9. Just noticed someone else asked the exact same question while I was writing this...
