    LS or DS?

I actually liked the story. Here and there there are some choices that are dark side, where I don't get how they can not be light side, and vice versa, but in general the story is good Act 1 does get a bit boring towards the end
  2. Though I don't like playing huttball very much I agree it's the best designed map. In demands teamwork. I would switch novare coast and civil war though. Simply based on the fact that in novare coast anything can happen. You can be at 20% while the others are at 100% and still win. It's not likely, but possible and I have had it happen. In Civil War, if you're passed a certain point even small miracles can't change the outcome anymore. This leads to players just giving up and sitting at one node collecting defender medals. While in novare coast, you can still turn things around.
  3. I'm a sage. When the ballcarier is down on the floor, I often try to run up the ramp, if possible past the first fire and rescue the ballcarier to my position. This gives us a huge advantage because the others will all have to catch up first. However, most of the times this doesn't work. You see, when the imps see me running up that ramp they realize that at that particular moment (the only moment in the entire game btw) I'm more dangerous to them than the ballcarier. As soon as I get up the ramp, I get knocked, pulled whatevered back off the ramp. They don't kill me. Hell, sometimes they don't even really stop running. They just get me out of position and my shining moment of glory is over. Ofcourse if all 8 of your team are pummeling the ballcarier, no one is left to get the overpowered sages of their ramps. But that's hardly the sages fault.
  4. unless under perhaps very specific circumstances, why would you want to do that? It's not a short cast (taking you out of the fight) and the person being revived will only have a fraction of hp etc. If you die, i think it's better to just respawn normally and run back to where the action is
  5. Because losing doesn't mean there isn't a good player in the team. does the dot help you? does the aoe heal help you? If no, by all means, exclude it from your considerations. If yes, keep it in mind. Also keep in mind that the aoe heal is somewhat expensive. I have it, and I had to put alot of skillpoints in stuff I didn't necessarily want, but needed to pick just to be able to get the aoe. Agreed
  6. I agree with you that punishing people for leaving will only make them go afk or dance naked, which is worse than leaving, because then at least you know you're one man down, and he can be replaced. I don't think it's bad game design per se. And even if it is, it's one that can easily be solved with a little community effort. While 300k isn't a huge amount of money, it is or can be quite alot for some fresh level 50's, keeping in mind they have just had to pay a shiny penny learning skills over the last two levels. Now when I got my recruit gear someone loaned me 50k (which I paid back the next day, it really isn't that astonishingly hard to earn the money) to pay for the last few bits I couldn't afford myself at the time. I myself have offered to loan people money and have actually loaned people money. Never the entire amount, in fact not even half of it. Just enough to get my point across: I'm willing to invest in you if you are willing to invest in you. And I honestly do think that most people on the receiving end, wether they accept the loan or not, react along the lines of "if he's willing to invest in me, I'm have to invest in me". It's the same with running fp with people who just can't seem to find a group. If I see someone spamming the forum for hours looking for a group, I often offer to help them. If they're lowbies I explain ofcourse that they will get far less xp if I'm there, but that I'm willing to run them through if they just want to have it done or get some loot from there. If someone did it for them, at least some of them will do it for others. And the more people do it, the more new people will start doing it, and before you know what happened, it's the norm. This won't happen overnight, but as they say "Rome wasn't built in a day". It was sacked in a day though. Three times in fact. But but but, you might say, if I carry them through a warzone, I help them too, I invest in them too! And you would be absolutely 100% right. It's just that people are inherently dumb. If it isn't painfully obvious (and I do mean flashing lights and sirenes obvious) they won't see it. Alot of people don't realize they are being carried through. Lending them money, sending them items or running them through a fp is far more obvious you are helping them for no other reason than helping them. Does this work all the time? Sadly, no. There will always be leechers. But I can honestly say, on my server at least, there aren't that much leechers in this game. I remember the first beggar on fleet: it was the talk of the day. BTW, taking the time to give advice rather than giving money is helping too. But you have to be very kind and gentle in giving advice. Don't tell them they will be less bad with recruit gear, tell them they will be better with recruit gear. Don't tell them they aren't appreciated if they don't have recruit gear, tell them they will be appreciated more if they do. People feel "attacked" easily. And if someone feels attacked, chances are he will become defensive. The last thing someone in defensive-mode will do is admit you are right (even though they might actually know you are). End of goodie-two-shoes-speech.
  7. there's more to life than comms?
  8. Both this posts basically say "L2P". Now the difference is nr 2 gives an obvious answer that doesn't solve anything in itself. So yes, I've interrupted him, now what? The first post however, says L2P. Here's what you should do, and why. I wonder which one would be most effective. There should be a rule on the forum: no L2P allowed without clear and usefull suggestions following them. In all honesty though, post nr 2 does have good advice. It would just have been better if there was some more.
  9. Why do people always assume that if someone doesn't have recruit gear, it's all out of egoism and lazyness? When recruitgear came out, I didn't know it had that big an impact. Someone kindly pointed it out to me, and I went and bought the recruit gear. I have come across a couple of people that didn't have recruit gear in warzones. I've sent them a tell along the lines of "If you enjoy pvp, consider buying the recruit gear. I know it's alot of money, but it really is worth it. It will keep you alive longer, increasing your effectiveness". Each and everyone of them has actually bought recruit gear and thanked me for the advice.
  10. So teach them. Tell them what to do. In any group of 7 idiots, at least one will get the message if you explain. You just doubled the effectiveness of your team. While I agree that the medal system isn't perfect the way it is now, it's better than getting nothing. Getting nothing didn't make people play better. It made people stop playing. That's not an assumption I make based on my infinite knowledge of the universe, that's what happened. Now at least you get rewarded for what YOU did, in stead of being punished for what OTHERS did.

    Huttball Tie

Same here, I wonder how that works. Not complaining, if we didn't win, we lost, but I'm just curious

    i was wrong

There's some interpunction missing. Try adding a comma or a dot here and there, and suddenly it will start to make sense

    pvp at 50

The recruit gear does make a difference. If you stay close to the point you're defending, you will get medals even if you (have to) do nothing the entire match.
  14. It's not a joke if 6 healers are on top of eachother, there's only 2 peeps max at the other door
