  1. for instant skill?the way the server work it is turn based yes bioware say is instant and it when the emoticon(all those fancy graphic effect,are finish initial rendering,rendering this game turn based for instant skill.and from what i read they cant fix this ,wow doesnt have this issue but swtor do,and these difference will only get worst once wow is in 64 bit
  2. no this is the beauty of this the penalty wouldnt affect the gear it would be more like milk cost 10k instead of 5$ because you are in irak instead of usa the gear stuff would stay as it is now .(inflation of material cost since your in war zone and all that!
  3. ya the two thread idea means probably that you need double the power for same performance i bet so quad core act like 2 core two core act like 1 core etc you get the idea!
  4. your first 30 kill are on regular repair table but after (i havent reached ilum but they get the idea of the mecanic appliable to make this work in ilum!
  5. diminishing return of a sort! first 30 kill are on normal repair cost ladder in ilum or whatever place then each 30 kill after the first 30 kill goes to something like this 1 30 kill= regular repair cost 2 30 kill= regular repair cost +5000 3 30 kill= regular repair cost +50000 4 30 kill= regular repair cost +500000 etc etc etc you get the idea beasicly if say a person is on farm and lack credit to pay repair cost after first 30 kill he is booted automaticly lot of issue fixed and as far as i can see no more issue i love this game and this issue have been plaguing various world pvp game for years i hope this help bioware!great game aside from various beginner error and of caurse this would reset with the daily (wouldnt want to crash the economy )
  6. some in this thread have been comparing it to wow!i ll bite!yes the cartoon look is here to stay less blurred less squared smoter a la cg but it will still be wow can you imagine when wow has 64 bit ?their limiting factor right now isnt money or talent their limit is the darn 32 bit at 3.5 gb something!once they have access to the whole ram they will be able to ask your computer to generate nice trees or wachtemacallit it wont steer too clear but whatever they plan to do with 64 bit ,i bet they arent implementing a big change like this just to quiet their player .they wouldnt have put 64 bit! they have a plan we just dont know what it is yet! so the longer other game maker take to dev a success the better blizzard got time to do whatever toy they are planning at blizzard for wow.the window isnt big only game left in wow path for a long long while soon is guild wars 2 .;

  8. they wanted to be secured first and foremost or lucas forced them to be ,and it is not very goodly optimised or we arent set properly at our end to be optimised for it or the web isnt accepting it and it is being rerouted somewhere it shouldnt be!we ll have to wait and see
  9. and i sure hope the software part of rendering say the nail of one finger isnt software rendered via software trough the web cause this with the autorisation key needed for all loading will require huge amount of time !i hope we re wrong,i even wonder if this process would be recon by the web if a safety say at l3 or other gateway didnt recon can you imagine the path it would need to take in order to be process!i sure hope they look into this cause it probably is somewere in there or related to its acceptance ,wouldnt be the first time a gateway of the net blocked this but not that lol!
  10. but the two-phase drawing with readback of the color and depth buffers can incur a performance hit, and may require special treatment to avoid artifacts on the border of the composition of the two images. ya i bet this wouldnt help performance!any got an idea how to optimise our system for this to be the least demanding!
  11. also i am gona go on a limb here but i bet remote rendered is some kind of remote differential compression (if it isnt using it)basicly the idea is it only update what need updating what need updating in swtor we got the game we go everything but i bet there is one thing we dont have the key,(wow do this you upload the whole file and when they re ready they send you the key to unlock the game content)i bet it is a similar process here but for everything.so imagine all those player trying to get a key at same time during rush hour ?plus everythuing that is going on!grin no surprise we have so much issue lol
  12. nope using ssd and i got same stop at about 26 to to 28% mark for about 5 second like it is waiting for an autorisation fro ea/bio server and the time is because bio lost the autorisation(dramatising but it is how it looks like ,once the autorisation is done smooth as butter load fast!
  13. mal!i got to say .5 second is about close to the timing ms love to use in windows(400 ms,or .4 s)is normally their default .i always adjust those to 85 ms sincer human cant notice difference bellow 85 ms(.085 s) this is one part of the equation but it doesnt really relate to the trouble everybody is having i wouldnt bother too much with it but it does make it noticable via that way but once their issue is fixed (it probably is on the security side check us howe much we get issue if firewall is acting up because of something bad on the net,it could also be l3 area (aion and wwow and eq had that issue they had to comunicate with them to resolve the issue and it was a third party gate that didnt recon them and the server had to reroute data to area unable to cope with said traffic!ha good old days of gaming are coming to freaking haunt us each time a new title is out!

  15. come shut your....this is a great game i love it!and a lot do too if you are bored go troll wow gees!it just need a lot of elbo grease and effort! so nobody know if this game need differential compression activated?dam!
  16. if they used a software solution instead of a gpu solution to stay more secure dont search your bottleneck is there ,it isnt random luck ms accelerated everything they can with gpu all software solution WILL NEVER BE fast enough for mmo environement ask aion(ncsoft) ,they had contracted a company to stay secure cause with very high number of player it was just too much so they just booted the security and put a team of watcher in game like blizzard.you complain not long after the gm come take your com,plaint detail he go check it out and ban people if they need banning or he warn them depending on the severity of what player did!in my book they should just boot this silly software security solution! and for them it is very easy to test this disable the security on test server and check .i am all from copy protection but gees a software copyprotection unaccelerated via gpu not multithreaded ?HELL NO!
  17. ok if this is right and it send data from the main server is ea/bioware making use of this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa372948(v=vs.85).aspx i am asking cause a lot of us disabled this feature because almost non aside from ms ever planned to make use of this feature ,if they do indeed optimised swtor with remote differential compression i will gladly activate it if this game take advantage of it?
  18. the main thing with alacrity is thias press k and check the tree you selected if there is no alacrity in it chance are you gain little by it but if it is in it might want to get everything in that tree about it and in other tree related to alacrity on (no stat on gear tho)some class might benefit if they feel their rotation is way off etc .this will help going from 1.5 to 1.36 doesnt sound like much but it doesnt take a lot to be either healing or dying.one question: does alacrity affect heat cooldown? like when i overheat?does the cooldown rate goes faster with with alacrity or not really hard to say since this affect all skill etc but isnt directly related to this?good thread by the way!
  19. ok my advice:dont touch anything mentioned in op suggestion only 1 i saw will affect your percieved experience and i aint sure it will be relevent in swtor. Change the Mouse Hover Time before Pop-up Displays: 1.Press [Win] + R or take the RUN option from the start menu. 2.Now type regedit there and press Enter Key to open up the Registry Editor Window. 3.In regedit go to: Code: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse 4.In the right pane, right click on MouseHoverTime and click on Modify 5.Type in a number between 0 to 4000 (400 is default, I use 3) in milliseconds, that the mouse pointer has to stay hovered on a item before it is selected or opens a pop-up. 6.Log off and log on, or restart the computer to apply the changes. Note: This will show you how to change the delay time, in milliseconds, that the mouse pointer has to stay hovered on a item before it is selected or opens a pop-up in Windows 7. For example, how long it takes for a taskbar open window button before to display it's thumbnail preview while hovering the mouse pointer over it. If you have the Animations in the taskbar and Start Menu option checked in Visual Effects, then you may not see much or any difference. You will need to uncheck this option first before doing the tutorial below.The lower the number, the faster the response time. If you use an entry of 0, there is no delay before the taskbar thumbnail preview opens. However it is not recommended to use 0 though since it may be hard to navigate through the thumbnails at that speed. I do this myself. http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-guide-optimization-for-ssds-hdds the last is where it was suggested!and same here apply the link is for information only do not change anything aside from the 2 change i mentionned here! there are reason ms set computer the way they are updating to newer version is nice but take a program like say amd graphic they do not use .net 4 yet so going from 35 to 4 would have various issue .as for the speed up i mention do not use 0 human cannot perceive anything faster then 85 ms so 85 is low enough!(by the way 85 ms is .085 second! so ya it is almost instant!(less strain on your computer and you wont notice the difference) now lets have fun in swtor.ea/bio ty for daily update keep them coming(till you are satisfied weekly will be enough!)
  20. followed indication supplied when i made an account,followed all step and everything worked flawlessly didnt even know this article existed.one hickup i had was when i waited for the ea autorisation for confirmation!make sure active x is desabled or you might have issue!visit other e-mail account you have ,if it is linked like me to live mail(microsoft)it will trigger ms mail service to refresh .this happened to me i had 2 mail because of this silliness ,or be patient.might want to try to log off your mail and log back in after say 10 minute.this is the main issue we get and i think it is because ms mail doesnt refresh when ea send a mail for some reason!aside from this everything else went flawless!
