  1. My stand point... learn to ask questions in General Chat. Problem solved, stupidity avoided. Seriously, type in your chat box, "/1 How do you unlock legacy/surname for your character?" You would most likely be responded by a few trolls saying, "Get to lvl 100." or "Complete every raid." But, there would be at least one person who would answer, "Complete Act 1." or something similar. Boom, question answered, move on from there. You now know to level at least one character passed Act 1 so that you can gain all of the benefits of Legacy (benefits you would already know of based upon being advertised all the info constantly both in-game and on the site). However, being confused or appalled... at a perfectly fine system just because you lack the intelligence or attention span to find an answer is just sad. Legacy is a system to be unlocked, a system to encourage alts or changes in play style, a system to reward spending hours upon hours playing the game. It's not meant to just be a feature that is spoon fed to you like the causal masses beg for on a daily basis. It's about unlocking, not handing out. So, put a little thought into it and don't complain because you screwed yourself over by not putting the tiniest bit of effort into finding the answer. Also, there's the really neat new age thing out called Google.com or better yet, go straight to the source, swtor.com.

    I knew it!

    ...Pro's... I lol'd.
  3. Continued Fatman WPvP SS discussion About those who claim it's real: 1. Spam PvP forums with threads about a topic BioWare already said they were closing. Wonders why their threads keep getting closed? 2. Have SS to prove it happened. Forgot about Photo Shop and cut/pasted. (or even paint) 3. Keep asking BioWare to investigated/give feedback. Didn't read thread(s) with BioWare commenting on it. 4. Has multiple people saying it happened. Wait, I thought this was a private server? No, that's right it's a single player game. 5. Claims there was a GM in game as a Droid and knew the exact location of the GM Droid. Didn't think to SS that... 6. Saw this fake GM troll happen almost daily in WoW and other MMOs. Thought it would be a good one for SWTOR. 7. GM was yelling at tons of players. Used /say to do it and not /general or whispers. 8. IT WAS A GM! Didn't have different colored text. 9. GM used proper grammar. BLACK HOLE CREATED! ...I could continue but I don't think it's needed. BioWare looked into, found it to be a fraud, obviously. They said this kind of act would not be tolerated on the FORUMS, as it is against regulation to post fraudulent claims (which is pretty much regulation for everything). More proof? BioWare took quite a while to post their decision about the issue, further credibility that they actually investigated. BioWare has not only closed the threads that continue to claim it's not fake, but also threads supporting their decision and agreeing that it's fake. The server it happened on was The Fatman... Need I say more? The guild it happened to was STS... Need I say more? I play on The Fatman and have since pre-launch, didn't happened. End of thread.

    Do it again.

Watch out BioWare... Lol, This (ex)player is a joke.

    Do it again.

    New best friend.
  6. ...They're closing threads because its against regulations to post fraudulent information. They banned the Guild Master because he started the fraudulent claims. They're also closing threads because they said it would not be tolerated. Man, people are stupid these days.
  7. Also, I believe GM posts in chat are in a different color.
  8. Took them a while to comment on the issue... That only FURTHER confirms that they actually did look into it. LOL just ask the GM if it was true? "Hey John, did you do this?" "No Mr. President sir, of course not," "Oh OK, just asking." Yeah, that's a real credible way of finding out the truth. Please stop posting fail.
  9. 1. More easily faked SS's. 2. Obviously more than one person saw it...it was a Ops group and on a public server. 3. Still no SS of the supposed GM Droid, even though everyone knew EXACTLY where the droid was located. BioWare didn't brush it under the rug, they said they investigated. Obviously they did since they didn't just INSTANTLY post about the issue. I guess you could ask them if they would post more about how they investigated but I wouldn't expect them to give you more information. Why? Because they do not have to do so and it would be pretty sad if a company was forced to bring themselves to deeply explain internal regulations to a bunch of people in their basements... All in all, more fake claims, however, great troll.

    Do it again.

    ...still going...
  11. Obviously new to MMOs. This kind of stunt gets pulled almost daily in other MMOs. If you really believe it's real, then you're pretty easily tricked or just gullible.
  12. This thread just might stay open, you know why? Because I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm not asking for a response, I'm not making fake claims, I'm not saying anything inappropriate. I've done nothing wrong. Only thing that might shut this thread down is the fact that I linked the SS again. Other than that, there is no reason to shut this thread down unlike all the other threads that were actually violating the forum rules.
  13. BioWare already stated, in several forms, that they looked into the issue and found it to be a fake. They also said they would not tolerate such acts and banned the Guild Master of the guild involved (or took some action against him, I'm just assuming a temporary ban).
  14. That was what number 5 was about. See, I'm not the only one who wonders. Too many obvious things someone WHO REALLY CARED would have done to prove that this happened. If you were truly upset about this, you would have done more to prove it happened and then just one edited, incomplete SS.
  15. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/26/gmstopsworldpvp.jpg/ In response to this SS that's going around: 1. Easily faked 2. Cut and pasted chat box in the SS. No way of knowing what was actually said throughout the whole thing. 3. Background between the cut and pasted SS's have the EXACT SAME background. So, if you only edited the SS because of lots of other chatting going on, how long did you sit in the EXACT SAME spot and facing the EXACT SAME direction for during supposed WPvP? 4. Why did the GM only type it in /say and not in /general so that everyone could see it? 5. Can't even tell what server it's on because all you SSed was the chat box. Why not SS your whole screen so we can see what's going on? Or why not SS the supposed GM that was following you around? 6. No GM has proper grammar, biggest give away right there. I play on Fatman (supposedly where it happened) and haven't ever seen anything like this and all I do is camp lowbies. All in all, something like this is far beyond easily faked and this was a poor job at best of faking it. Way too many variables left to float. Plus I've played with STS (supposed guild involved), they're pretty stupid anyways EDIT: Those of you looking for a response from BioWare about this issue. They said they investigated it and it's a fake. Not that we really needed them to tell us that, but there you go.
