  1. Any word on a fix for this? Just ran it across it myself. Feel like the music in general is a bit messed up for me too. the heroic moment music lasts for a lot longer than it should, even during cutscenes. Just very buggy all around.
  2. So, I've been gone from the game since before this new space stuff came out. Want to try it out, but even on a Saturday night, i was on que for hours with no pop. How about some bots at least for a solo pve mode? Feels like a huge part of the game is locked off from me due to low server population.
  3. Which i am sure some players have done already. lol

I know this is an old thread but i disagree. If this were a popular game with most servers full, I'd understand. However i just came back from a long break to find like 20 people max on fleet and a couple of times I've been the only one on a planet. I have like 5 or 6 level 50+ characters, and I'm not going to pay that much money to transfer them all. Other option is simply not playing at all.

TL;DR people mostly transfer in this game due to low population servers, not on a whim

  4. I personally don't mind this. I hate the mentality of thinking everyone should already know how to beat every boss, and if they don't they should watch a video before hand. Just boring and pointless. If someone is new to the flash point, explain it to them patiently. Mmos get a bad name because a lot of people can't seem to do this. If they can't, then don't do flash points with random people. I think these people are the problem, not the newcomers.
  5. Heyo. This is a question more for people who are bored right now and just surfing the forums. I'm currently at work so i can't investigate myself.

Anyway, the last expansion i played was the hutt one. Since then, has anything changed so much in the game that it's something i should be aware of immediately when returning? I know the question is vague. Maybe something to do with currency or gear? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  6. The one that REALLY pisses me off, which Bioware just flat out ignores..

Broken /r . I can't see how this is a difficult thing to fix. I should be able to /r everytime to respond ,and also to be able to respond to the right person. Half the time it shows another person's name I whispered/whispered me earlier. Simple stuff, Bioware. C'mon.

    Also...

Animation Delay. Since like 1.something or other on my merc when I shoot a TM. It'll channel to the end, then pause, then jump forward to catch up. I'll say this now. It's not my pc. It's def on Bioware's end.

Companion not reappearing after getting off speeder. Yet another bug promptly ignored, or they don't have the skill they had in the beginning since letting people go and can't fix it. One of the two, take your pick.

Companion viewing still isn't 100% working right. Been around for ages as well.

These are just what are off the the top of my head. Add about 20-30 more, and you have it about right.

  7. To be honest, it doesn't matter if it is their 265th run. If someone wants to watch the story, so be it. Never enter a pug flashpoint if you do not have the time nor inclination to watch the story. I mostly spacebar by default now days, however, there are a lot of times when there are folks that don't.

If you want to ensure a spacebar-filled run, form up a group of like-minded folks and then queue.

This will cause problems. Most people have trouble finding a group, that's why they USE the group finder and do pug Fps. Unless its someone's first time watching the story, it should go off the majority. If 3 people want to skip, and everyone has seen it already, don't be selfish and hold the whole group up, especially in HMs as you can solo a lot of the Sms and watch it on your own.

That's not to say the OP did the right thing. From what he wrote, he just left the group and explained afterwords why. If that's true, that's just flat out rude. Also, dps are a lot harder to find in SM fps. Players in general actually are. Last but not least, it probably would have been best just to finish it but not group with them again to avoid the nerd rage after.

So yes, you were a ******* by how you handled it, but the idea behind it isn't wrong.

  8. What has BioWare done that prevents people from claiming who they say they are? To prevent people from watching for a particular guild tag and writing down the names of people in the guild?

So many people here are speaking out of the naive certainty that it could never happen to you. I lived in New York City of about 17 years. One of the things you can pretty much be certain of as a New Yorker is that the longer you live there, regardless of whatever precautions you take, you will have your pocket picked and the thief will get away with it. It took about 16 years and 11 months, but it happened to me. All the same, the police did everything they could to get my stuff back. They tracked attempts at using my cancelled cards, they looked at security cameras at ATMs, they tracked the use of the transit card I lost. It didn't do enough to find the guy, but they did far more than I thought they could.

BioWare has the authority and the means to stop people who steal from others while using BioWare's software. You can argue that they should use that authority or you could argue that they should not or need not. But BioWare is saying absolutely nothing either way. The thief is still active in the game and still trying to steal, and BioWare is not saying they will stop him, they are not saying that they won't. By choosing to say nothing, BioWare is telling this theif in no uncertain terms that even when he gets caught, he will face no consequences from the only people who have the ability to instate consequences. That is BioWare saying, quite clearly and without one word, that being a fraud and a thief within their product is "Working as Intended." Just like CCP.

The hypocrisy in the responses above is too thick to wade through. People say I should stop blaming BioWare and blame myself for the thefts. I have not blamed BioWare for what was stolen, not have I said anyone other than myself is ultimately responsible for what happened. In the same breath, you absolve the only entity who could prevent this from happening again of any responsibility to act when they can act, to act when they are the only ones who can act decisively. I am sure the BioWare employees monitoring this thread are breathing easy given all of your support for their decision not to act. They see that with all of you absolving BioWare from any sort of authority here -- not to stop some petty intra-guild squabble, but to stop a thief who has take n from others without any concern for consequences, a thief who has tried to do the same to others -- they see that there is no need for anyone from BioWare to say a word here.

You got their *** covered. They can continue to not do something and not do nothing.

Of course Bioware doesn't give you a way to tell if people are pretending to be someone else. You already have a way. Its called your brain. All of this could have easily been prevented if this was said.. "mind signing in on your main real quick so I know its you?"

and of course it could happen to anybody, but most people wouldn't then try to accuse bioware of not taking action over it. They'd say "wow, that was dumb of me. Never going to let that happen again".

This would be like me saying "Bioware. This guy needed on a piece of gear that wasn't even for my class! Why aren't you doing anything about it!?!?" Or.. "Bioware. These guy keeps stealing my kills. Why aren't you going to do something about it!?"

Its because it comes down to the player who grouped with him, was in that area with him, or added him to his guild to do something about it. They would have to take care of this by themselves, because we have the freedom to do it. in MMOs. Just learn from your mistake and move on. Don't blame Bioware for something you are responsible for.

    /thread

  9. Why didn't your friend tell you the guy was a thief? You just happened to see him on fleet and an officer of his new guild just happened to msg you? Sounds like you're twisting the story a bit to better fit your point.

Anywho, Bioware shouldn't be involved with this. Why would you give full access to someone you obviously didn't know well??? Its your own fault. Complaining to Bioware or on these forums is not going to help. My guild only let peopl take out a certain amount of items in a specific amount of time. Don't blame others for your carelessness. Prett sure there's nothing illegal about what happened.

  10. 99% of players would spend the coins on cartel packs. And you know it. ;) So clearly that is not the answer.

Why not write a personal email to Eric and ask him, plead with him, to give you 1000cc so you can have your free name change before you pee yourself. :)

That's because 99% of people are fine with their names.

  11. Raiders shouldn't need any new content until next year, at least.

Seeing as how people are already farming the newest content around, and it's been around for just over a month, what you say is hilarious.

I PvE and sometimes dabble with PvP, I do agree that playing the same four maps over and over can be testing, but they don't just slap maps together and hope for success - they look at balance, test it, look at it again, and test it some more before they release it in order to make sure that neither side has some advantage from the get-go.

While more warzones would be nice, I don't think it should come at the exclusion of the PvE crowd, since SW:TOR tends to baby the PvPers already, seeing as most class changes are PvP-related.

Lol that's just ridiculous. Next year? Great way to lose a majority of the player base. Whoever said raiders mak up less than 10% is smoking paint chips. After my guild died(due to lack of endgame group conten btw), I jumped from. guild o guild trying to find one that worked for me, I saw that all of them were raiding on a consistent basis. You just don't see it because its organized in guild chat.

  12. Like: not overwhelming for new players like a lot of other mmos right off the bat. Much more... clear than other mmos if you know what I mean. (Mini map is not clustered with garbage, there's no menus galore being thrown in your face, etc.)

    Easier to navigate?

Hate: recolored armor sold for 15 bucks being called "new", bad armor looks, cartel market, penny pinching, extremely low output of new content, and last but def not least, dailies in general. When did doing the same quests over and over every day become a good thing!?

  13. In May of 2012 I tried SW:TOR for the first time. I loved it and decided to subscribe, couldn't get my card accepted and when my 7 day trial was up, I gave up.

Now that it went Free to Play, I fell in love with the game again, and tried to subscribe.

I have tried THREE DIFFERENT CREDIT CARDS.

I have tried a VERIFIED PAY PAL.

I also tried all three cards on the origin site to buy a 60 day GTC (they don't accept Paypal for time cards)

Finally I went to some backwards Chinese website that provided me a photograph of a game time card with the code revealed... I just paid $40 for 2 months game time... because I can't pay for it any other way.

All the in-game improves are amazing, and I love the content, but please sort out the billing system, in 60 days I'll have to try this all again, and I hope I can pay via swtor.com instead of some Chinese site.

Quick question. With credit cards, did you mean gift cards like visa gift cards? If so you have to activate them online first at their website. If no, that stinks.

But you have it now! :)

  14. You honestly expect Bioware to give him a list of items he claims got lost in the mail, when they cannot confirm it in their logs? Seriously?

They have very deep and complete logs and telemetry on this game from everything I have seen. But if the guy is not able to give them accurate information for them to use to search the log files.. that's on him... not Bioware. And honestly the only time you are going to get stonewalled on a request like this is if you give them incorrect information and they cannot pinpoint the log entries to confirm the problem. People in this game have done dumb things (people I know personally in some cases) like deleting things of value by mistake.. and are able to get them restored.

Personally, I think either he is making stuff up (none of us can confirm or deny anything he is saying) or he gave incomplete information in his ticket and they can't find the log entries (because he gave them bad data). Giving him the benefit of the doubt.. it is the later, rather then the former. But either way.. this thread is a rant without evidence and we are supposed to take his word for it and go burn down the Austin Design Center over it.

Lol what? You realize you just made up half of what you just said, right? Its his fault because he gave them bad info/made it all up? Seriously?

Perfect example of a Biodrone making up excuses against an upset customer who has a valid complaint. I really doubt this guy is trying to pull something if he's been around since early access and loves the game as much as he claims. Of course no one can prove this, but jumping on the Biowagon saying he's making it up or must be wrong somehow is childish.

  15. Well it wasnt really Bioware that pwned you... it was real life.

It was that unexpected and apparantly very immediate trip out of country that did it.

Well obviously that's what happened, but not returning the items is ridiculous. I find it hard to believe bioware cannot do this. Real life should always be the number one priority. I honestly don't blame the guy for leaving. This games CS is one of the worst I've personally experienced.

Doesn't really matter though, id bet anything this game will not last another two years. Mark my words!

  16. You're exaggerating like crazy with some of this. Infact, you seem to be talking about maybe two armor sets per class with your descriptions. Not to say a lot of the armor isn't bad, but be realistic about it.

P.S Smugglers hands down have the worst armor.

P.S.S Your sig.. practice whatcha preach perhaps? :)

  17. So does SWTOR. I've been earning coins from achievements. Haven't you? I was surpised at how many I had on my ledger (360 so far since they patched the ability to earn in).

To be honest.. I have gotten more coins in a shorter amount of time from the achievements then I ever did with the earned coin in LoTRO. But, both are a tedious approach to shop currency compared to what comes with your monthly sub, S-key, refer-a-friend.

I think he was referring to being able to consistently earn coins. With the achievements, don't you eventually run out of ways to get them?

If they added a way to get coins, even something small, that'd be great. Id suggest tossing plan comms and putting some cartel coins in. Or maybe 10 coins for doing a daily. It'd take a while to be able to purchase anything, but its stll something
