  1. We've officially re-started, and have a new site up and running! First post is updated to reflect this!
  2. Hey there! I'm Z, and I'm in the process of re-starting my old LGBT/Queer guild called Horizon's Edge. The guild itself is pub side, but there are a bunch of toons scattered around impside that we RP on. We are RP focused, and will eventually be hitting raiding, so I'm not sure if your main appeal is conquest or other things. When we get more members there likely will be conquest weeks so I stop footing the bills of buying frameworks at the least. Right now we're a small band of friends, but hopefully that'll start changing into a larger band of friends Our site: http://horizonsedge.swtorhost.com/
  3. Totally ignoring Dawn, who seems to be a good example already, a large group of raiders moved to Harby a while back, and almost all of them eventually returned because of how people were treated there. (Mind you, they all didn't go to the same guilds or teams, but some did.) A specific example would be someone who raided on a team for a very significant amount of time, carried more than their weight in the group, never once missed a raid or showed up late, and was more interested in the benefit of the group than self. Unfortunately for them, they were a sentinel. They had already dedicated the time to leveling up a commando for the team, as the leader decided was a requirement, their RL partner even helping do so because of jobs vs. playtime vs. time requirement given. Due to complications when Sents got nerfed, however, they were kicked off the team, rather than being given the opportunity to get comparable gear on the commando leveled specifically for the team. Sure, this is one example, but I definitely didn't ignore what people said when they returned to our server. It was a statistically significant pool. Nor is it something that is unique to this game or that server. I've seen elsewhere the same sort of complaints/happenings in other major raid servers. Nor is it to say that every PvE server is like that, or every player or team on the server like that. I just have been trying to not learn the hard way that the chances of my experience being a special anomaly are virtually nil. I have heard mostly good things about EH, in raiding/GSF/RP, but the time zone is my main concern. And if Battlefield pings are any indication, there is that chance that the ping for the aussies might in fact be over the tolerable line. I've heard absolutely nothing about the english EU servers. I do appreciate the link to the server populations. That was fairly helpful info.
  4. So, some veteran raiders and a couple of casual players (with a mix interest of RP in there) are currently standing around scratching our heads of what server we might have the best luck on. Some are from the U.S., some are from Aussie land, and there might be a spattering of others eventually as well. We're concerned about time zone compatibility (with an eye at server activity/population times) and player pools. Raid times are likely towards the weekends around 10ish EST/ 7ish PDT. Another top concern is an environment where folks know what friendship/loyalty are, so that raids aren't an unregulated capitalistic environment like tends to happen on Harby. (That said, not interested in Harby.) I've glanced at the server forums, and came to the conclusion that I can't really draw a lot of data from them, nor can we realistically go and test out each server. Would love some candid honesty about different servers. Or at least what the in-game LFraid channels are to go ask around in those
  5. 125K spent ... to receive the wrong item. Which are stubbornly staying in my inventory....
  6. It's been so great to see the server boom again since F2P came out. Have been asked if we're still around, so a shout out to say yes, we very much are!
  7. Guild: Horizon's Edge Faction: Republic (Imperial side is for alts only) Link: http://horizons.enjin.com GM: Zytarion (Zaynn, Zaxarian) Officers: Crimsonjack (Stapleton, Zakariah, Phillip, Lemonjack), Káine, Ro'an (Adelis, Ash'an) RP Contact: Káine, Zytarion RP Nights: Usually Friday or Saturday for events Raid Nights: Friday 7PM every few weeks
  8. The Republic side is our concentration area. We have an Imp guild, but it's just for alts. (Dark Horizons) Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Trans/Questioning/Queer/ and everyone else. Where you fall on the spectrum is less important than respecting everyone and not being oppressive.
  9. A lone bartender wipes down the counter, and as you enter he looks up and smiles. "Welcome to Horizon's Edge. They say this is where all the stories of the galaxy come to be told. Well if that's true, why don't you have a seat and tell me yours? First drink's always free." Horizon's Edge is a LGBTQ+ hybrid roleplaying and raiding guild. We are friendly players with good attitudes who aim for fostering a welcoming community. We are the storytellers. We take what Bioware has given us and in turn give those characters we create lives beyond the game storylines. If that sounds like fun to you, we'd love for you to join in! We don't plan on having an overarching theme that everyone must try to squeeze their characters into - instead we plan on a weaving and interweaving of different stories. While many roleplaying guilds want to draw a straight line toward a guild goal, we want to weave a tapestry that mirrors the very galaxy this game is set in. We also are looking to have a weekly progression raid group running, along with more casual and fun raids for those who like to see content without the pressure, once we start filling out ranks of folks interested in such. (With extremely experienced raid leaders running them!) We do require applications: http://horizonsedge.swtorhost.com/recruiting/signup.php
  10. Queer (and allies) guild, and it's leader, checking in! Horizon's Edge, Begeren Colony!
