  1. Oh? What's that you say, enough Republic are actually in Ilum to be able to get some kills and maybe completely my weekly?

Why I"ll just take the shuttle directly there and help my brethren out! It sure was nice of BioWare to take a page out of WoW's Wintergrasp mechanics by burrowing the idea for an instant port right into the battle area, instead of having to run from the fleet to my ship, use the nav console to go to Ilum, load into the planet, go through an airlock, go through an orbital station, take the shuttle down, and then take a 5 minute speeder ride over to the PvP area! That would be such an annoyance, after all...and it would probably make Ilum less popular, simply because it takes so long to get to!

Yup, it's a good thing that there's this direct shuttle now so I can just get right to the battle....

  2. Dark V Sage here.

Going full darkside on every class quest makes the story really really *********** silly. Basically, every jedi you see dies. So the Republic is down like 15 or something of their top Jedi Masters if you go Dark compared to Light.

It pretty much completely ruins the credibility of the character.

But on the other hand, killing people is kinda fun?

  3. I think that healing in general is probably too powerful in WZ, especially because (for players of equal gear) expertise washes out in terms of damage done vs damage taken...except that expertise also benefits healing.

So at the end of the day, healers ~10%+ more effective (with champion level gear) than their equally geared DPS or Tank counterparts.

  4. But it won't be truly useful to healers until mouse-over targeting comes.

I would do very bad things for WoW's macro system in this game, especially as a healer.

Mouseovers are just so much more natural feeling, in addition to being faster and more reliable.

Harm-vs-help contexts would help cut down on so much of the ability bloat, especially for hybrid classes.

Hell, even modifier macros would be amazing, for things like self-target and focus-target.

All of these, obviously, are what any serious, competitive player should expect from an MMO to begin with.

  5. LOL engine needs a rewrite he says...

its easy to tell who has ZERO programming and coding knowledge...

dear OP, its simply NOT DOABLE , even with all the money in the world, it is not doable, the amount of work, hours, and money that it would take is so staggering that you might as well release a new game altogether ...

also, wow has had 4 expansion , HUNDREDS of progressive cumulative updates, and after 7 years they are wasting a monumental amount of cash on something that will not work , period. i promise you the 64 bit client will ALWAYS have trouble, it wasnt made like that and they are pretty much butchering code together to make it a 64 bit threading game , we all know how that turned out for microsoft (aka vista)

they should have just left it at that, but to me going 64 bit its a monumental amount of cash for a dated engine and dated game

Perhaps it hasn't occurred to you that (a) Blizzard actually knows what they're doing (b) 64-bit clients vs 32-bit isn't as bad as you make it out to be © they're investing in technology for their next MMO (Project Titan) to be natively 64-bit from the beginning. Oh, and Vista wasn't bad because it was 64-bit, anyways.

  6. I seem to have probs with this as well... for instance on SOA his hit box is so large that trying to target something near him or even mind traps you cannot always click on them and target nearest enemy sometimes doesn't work at all it just keeps targeting the boss even when you're standing right on top of a mind trap and the boss is in the center of the area. Also, when I'm fighting mods if I use target closest or next enemy it sometimes targets a friendly party member.

Another thing if you use the setting to auto target nearest it will most of the time pick a mob across the room instead of the one beating on you. Instead of having it choose the one you're facing it should choose the one nearest like the setting says.

    Total fail!

I'm not sure I've ever really had target next enemy target a party member....

Nonetheless, tab-target in PvE for DPS classes is still a very problematic in this game. It's not quite as bad as tab-target in PvP, simply because stuff moves a little more deterministically and generally has bigger targeting 'hitboxes', but it's still an issue that needs to be fixed.

  7. The CCing isn't the problem.. its the fact that there isn't any diminishing returns on it. So as a Sorc. You can put your shield up. Whirlwind, shock, overload stun(with talent) and when they burn your shield they get stunned(with talent) AGAIN!

This. Resolve bar as all-or-nothing instead of diminishing returns is an awful design

  8. I was playing last night and noticed when I hit Force Leap it does not always take me to the targeted enemy. It seems to take me to the closest enemy even if I have a different target selected. Once I even leaped to a group slightly behind me off to the side. Happened several times last night, never noticed this before.

    Anyone else having issue?

It sounds like you've somehow managed to always hit "tab" (target nearest enemy, the worst-implemented targeting function I've ever seen in any game ever) when you force leap.
