  1. Honestly, it's probably a staffing issue. BW simply doesn't have the manpower to efficiently patch and troubleshoot this game. EA is notorious for running skeleton crews (especially with older games which have already peaked...I know because I used to work there). And because the majority of the player base doesn't raid on a regular basis, it's simply not at the top of the priority chain.

Trust me....I'm on your side....raiding is the only reason I still play. I'm just offering a realistic outlook.

  2. Hey SWTOR Community!

I apologize if this is a really ignorant question but I re-subbed about 2 months ago, hit 50 and now I'm looking for a guild on POT5. I know at launch there were all sorts of resources and forums where you could check out different guilds, there back story's, player base etc. and for whatever reason i'm not seeing any of that on SWTOR.com anymore.

Once again I'm sorry if I'm totally missing something but if anyone has any advice on how to find a solid raiding guild I would really appreciate it!

    Three things to do:

    1) Wait for a guild advertisement to appear on general chat (on the fleet). They usually come up rather frequently during peak hours. You can then contact the individual and sort out details

    2) Advertise yourself on general chat and hope to get picked up

    3) Go to the Prophecy of the Five server forum on this site and see if anyone is advertising. You can probably find some guilds who are actively recruiting

SIDE NOTE: If you haven't done any raiding yet, at least make sure you've pugged EV and HP through hardmode. Also clear all the hardmode flashpoints. Most decent guilds (or my guild, at least) aren't going to recruit someone who has no raiding experience and doesn't have a basic understanding of roles/boss mechanics. You don't have to be amazing....just not a total idiot.

  3. People will continue to undercut because the listings are organized according to price. I could charge 30k for biometric crystal and be on page 38...or sell it for 25k and be on page 1.

My advice to to go biochem or slicing if you want to make consistent money on the gtn. People will always need their stims and neural augmentors. I have alts specifically for biochem and slicing. That's all they do :)

  4. Personally, I think you and I are in the same boat. You really really want to like and enjoy this game, and there are enough good things that you don't just want to give it up. But there's just not much to do right now so here's what you do. Un-sub for a few months and come back when you're ready. Sound good? I promise your characters won't go anywhere:D
  5. I know exactly what you mean.

My guild had to call off our EC HM run last weekend when we got to Kephess...for exactly the same reason. Hard to say what the solution would be. More instances of Denova?.....100 ppl per instance seems a bit high.

I think what should happen (but won't) is to add two new operations instead of one, kind of like they did with EV and KP released very closely to each other. This will spread out traffic. The vast majority of raiding guilds are on Denova SM/HM right now, so it's waaaay too crowded. If there was another way to get campaign gear it would help. Nightmare Pilgrim (with 2 hour respawns) was NOT the answer.

  6. I play swtor a few times per week to raid with my guild and do a few pvp matches. The rest of the time, I play other games :) I will go back to playing swtor more when there's more content. You don't have to have the best gear in the game to enjoy it or to be competitive.
  7. I think I have a rather simple solution that would appease both sides of the fence AMAP.

Don't change gear stats for 16-man raids. Instead, give people access to the following:

-Titles only attained by completing 16 man HM raids

    -Mounts

-Different color scheme options for gear and mounts

I think this would work well. Everyone knows that if you see a guy on a dark black speeder, he's completed Denova HM. Wouldn't it be cool if 16 man HM vets could get a gold speeder, a black light-saber, or a title like "<Insert Name Here>, God Among Men". In other words...there would be no statistical bonuses to doing 16 man raids but doing so would unlock rewards that would earn you some recognition.

  8. Worst: Nar Shadaa...most disappointing planet ever. I see a huge metropolitan city in the background and I get to explore none of it.

Best: Voss...by the time most people get to lvl 40+, they get really tired of questing. The fact that I enjoyed Voss at this point says something :)

  9. Yeah

There are several ways to get Open World PvP going. I loved the player bounties in SWG as well.

I would love to see Open World raids in PvP only zones offering a nice reward for completing it. It would give some incentive to go to the PvP zone.

SWTOR has something along the lines I outlined above, I just remembered. In Buccaneers den on Tat, there is a world boss located there. But it really doesn't give anything good and it's not really a raid per say.

I like your line of thought. Quick question tho....in these open world raids does faction matter? From the way you described it as soon as you enter the PvP area everyone outside of your ops group is an enemy. I think this would have to be the case, because there is still too much of a faction imbalance in this game (it destroyed Ilum). Having raid spec'd mobs would be interesting.

Funny story...my guild went to Tat to fight Trapjaw. Mid-fight we got ambushed by 3 Sith. They were just being jerks and stunning us. etc.. We managed to fight them off and kill the boss....but that was one of the most intensive healing fights I've ever done. I had the tank on the boss and 2 dps fighting sith in the meantime. Crazy!

  10. ... then I'm very sorry for you. But allow me to let you in on a little secret:

Your name isn't as cool as you think it is.

Yes, I got the joke, but it's not really that funny.

I saw the same movie and read the same book. I got the reference. Really. You do know you're not the first person to make that reference, right? That's why so many other people already used the same name. It's not original.

I know you've been using the same name in every video game you've ever played since you were a kid. But you're all grown up now, and your name is no longer young and lame - it's old and lame. Grow up, and pick a new one.

But that name is just TIED to that character - you've been hearing that name in every cutscene so far in this game! Oh wait, no you haven't.

That other guy who has your name? He's 12 years old, still occasionally wets his bed, and is picking his nose RIGHT NOW as we speak.

You're just not as original, funny, or clever as you think you are. Get over it.

BRAVO. If someone else already has your name, then it ain't original. Find a new one and quit crying about it.

  11. Are there relics available that don't require a certain light/dark amount pre-50? If there are I haven't found them. At level 33 I'm still unable to equip relics because I played my character how I wanted to play him. In other words, I didn't sell out to get light/dark side points. I kind of resent not being able to get any relics because of this.
  12. Glad to hear, I am having the same experience (including rolling an operative healer!) It has renewed my interest in SWTOR.

    What guild did you join?

Ruin Gaming is the name I think? haha...anyway, there's usually 30-40 guildies logged in so it's not tough to find people to quest or pvp with.

  13. Hey guys, I am one of the many disgruntled folk who love this game but hate it being single-player. I rolled my main character on the Bondar Crystal server, which is now essentially dead (always in bottom 10). I got angry one night and was literally about to cancel my sub when I decided at the last minute to roll an alt on Fatman. Here are a few thoughts:

-Day 1: I create my op healer at 2 AM CST (I work graveyard shift). My game starts on Hutta and I immediately notice there are 67 people on the planet, which is more than the Bondar Crystal fleet even at peak hours. I had a great time questing and completing all the heroics. I even enjoyed watching the trolls bicker and argue in general chat. Not bad.

-Day 2. I reach level 10 and decide to try PVP. It's 7:30 AM and I get queued almost immediately. Awesome!!! I have a great match, come back, and instantly I am re-queued for another! HUH?? Is that supposed to happen? I play again and have a blast.

-Day 3: 6:20 AM and Drumond Kaas has almost 100 ppl on. I bash through some heroics with a 4 man team and get recruited to a leveling guild with 500 ppl and a vent channel. I log on and get thrown into a group to go kill the world boss, which I never got a chance to do earlier. Later that day, I was easily able to find some guildies to go knock out Athiss! I LOVE THAT INSTANCE! Doing questing heroics on Bondar Crystal is now a pipedream, so this was refreshing and enjoyable.

Here's the thing with me. I don't intend to fully level/gear my fatman alt. When transfers go live, I'll go back to my main and probably a different server. I know many people have a problem with rerolling for a variety of legitimate reasons (don't have time/no desire/shouldn't have to etc...) but I am telling you....give this a chance. I'll be the first to say that BW eff'd up with population control. I shouldn't have to be doing this right now but even so it's revitalized my interest in the game. It has saved my subscription and I am enjoying the hell out of questing in the meantime while I wait on the next patch. I power-leveled my main on Bondar Crystal, so I didn't fully soak in all the questing content. That was a mistake. The questing on this game is truly excellent. Just my .02, please discuss as you see fit.

  14. There's actually a very easy solution to this. Allow teams to have both factions on them. Honestly....who cares if your team is all Rep or Imp. All I see are green names and red names. I kill the red ones :)
