  1. I disagree. If it's bounded then everyone will just go ahead and do it. This will in turn kill crafting as pretty much every small guild upwards will have the items available for material cost, and the GTN will be flooded with cheap items due to people trying to recoup their initial costs.

If you don't want to fight the RNG then buy the items you need on the GTN. Two implants aren't going to cost that much, after all...

    QFE

Finally someone that thinks like a real crafter...

  2. You want to fix RE? It's easy, all you have to do is 2 things.

    1. When you learn a schematic, remove the chance to crit and attempt to learn that schematic. You should never try to learn a schematic you know on an RNG system. It's just bad design.

    2. Increase your chance to crit on an RE by 1% every failed RE. Make this a static value that starts at a base level and then ramps up 1% per failure. Success would reset it to the base level.

This ensures that after 10 failed RE's you'd have at least a 10% chance to learn a new schematic. Still not incredible, but the odds of failing 10 rolls at 10% is tiny compared to the chance of failing 10 rolls at say 2%.

The more you fail the better your odds. REing something 50+ times without a success (which I have done several times) would be virtually impossible under this system.

    Number 1 only /sign

Don't agree to make it easier to learn Schem

  3. You're trying to add the Blue crystal, right? Blue crystals are forbidden to Dark I and above, meaning more towards the dark side. They're ment for light-side players (blue lightsabers and such are for Jedi) - Dark I+ can only use yellow, red and orange (plus some of the rare ones).

Kind of weird that it applies to guns too but there you have it.

I think we won't hear from him again ;)

It applies to everything !! Nobody Dark should use green or blue ... and nobody light should use Red...

That's how they decided to do it......... Agree or not... that's the BioWare way

  4. So I just spent the last 12 hours doing only two tasks: first, getting money through missions and PVP, and second, spending ALL of that money on materials for grinding recipes, so I can fully equip my level 50 character with purple gear.

    The only problem?

Well, so far I've spent (rough estimate) 300,000-400,000 in credits (including the money I already have on hand) building blue items, and reverse engineering them. Or rather, I should say, building one type of blue item, and reverse engineering it alone. I have yet to get any purple recipes.

Okay, that's just sad. I've been crafting a while in this system, I have all sorts of purple recipes, and I know that spending 12 hours focusing on a single recipe and not getting it is over-the-top unlucky. So, I've been thinking: the reverse engineering system really has a flaw in it, that it allows these terribly bad situations to happen.

Why not alter the system? Instead of have a small drop rate on upgraded schematics per reverse engineer, why not have it so that the game randomly assigns a number, like between 1 and 20, of items that you MUST reverse engineer before the game will give you the upgraded recipe.

It will still be random! After all, some people will get it on the first time, most people will have to spend thousands of credits getting the upgraded recipe. But, there will never again be statistical outliers like me, who have spent basically more money researching a _SINGLE_ recipe than I've spent crafting on all of my max-skill crafting characters _COMBINED_.

It's ridiculous to think of how much money I've spent doing this, how long I've been trying to do this. I think it needs to get changed, the system needs to be less random... don't remove ALL the random, just, alter the system to be a reverse-engineer countdown until recipe drop, so that random outliers like me no longer exist.

    Eh? Anyone agree? Disagree?

    Disagree

    Leave it like it is...

  5. fair enough it might be low on a priority for it being a craft and the sheer amount of bugs in the game at the moment which is normal for a new game, but still the fact is I leveled Armstech and I really do not see the point appart from being able to craft epic weapons for my companions that I replace quite easily with the daily on Belsavis. It is truely sad that there is **** all for armstechs

There is not much for any of the Crafting right now...

It's been proven and said over and over and over...

There is some "nice to have" but nothing to really go crazy about 1 single thing...

Right now crafting is nothing really worth it but I enjoy it for getting to 50 :) Kinda change the pain place and crafting some Artifact for my guildies !!

  6. Quit Crafting...

Leave crafting to the one that enjoy it...

I would even say make the REing harder so only the ones that really works for it get it...

I don't remember where I read that but they said at some point that was not meant to be the best...

BioWare don't changing anything on Whiners like that...

Game just opened... If you expect to have everything right away... Go play WoW

  7. coolio, then I need to go critical upon critical to get the super critt weapon Weho;) Thanks^^

    This can't happen tho ;-)

You can only proc once on a schem with "More Crit" the next one will get one of the other 6 stats possible...

    Tier 1 : Power - Critical - Defense

    Tier 2 : Presence - Shield - Accuracy - Surge - Alacrity

Read this, will probably help to understand

    Guide on Reverse Engineering

  8. Close, Mastercraft seems to be T2 with bonus stats and an Augment Slot.

Exceptional is any item with an Augment Slot.

    Like Lemon_King said...

A [Mastercraft] is a [superior] item (full T2 REing schematic) that was critically crafted and gained an Augment slot.

An [Exceptional] is any item with an augment slot (Even a Premium item can have an [exceptional] tag).

But as I was writting this... I just realized... the last "Crit" crafting I've had.. .I'm not sure they have the [Exceptional] tag anymore................

I remember it being really easy to figure it was cause the name was long... But last night the one I crited... Not sure I remember seeing the [Exceptional] tag... hmmm will have to check that

  9. Oh sorry, it's not a Base item after all. It has a Critical prefix, so i guess it's T1.

Still, it's not [superior] like i want it to be.

We need more info on the [superior] thing. I have T1 (Critical / Overkill) Artifact schematics that are NOT [superior]. I need to know how to get those T1 schematics to become [superior] .

EDIT: wait, i just re-read the first page.

So [superior] just means that the item/schematic is Tier 2 ? And in order to get it i need to keep RE Tier 1 version?

    Hi Descento,

If you have an Artifact item with "Critical/Redoubt or Overkill" that means it's a "tier 1" item most probably from a Prototype item

A T1 cannot be [superior] like you understood... I would guess that the [superior] tag was added in a way that you know you got the highest possible Schematic.

So YES if you have a T1 Artifact you have to keep REing and hoping to proc a T2 Artifact then the T2 will be flagged as [superior]

  10. Armormech

    Heavy Armor

    Purple:

16 - Critical Ballistic Shield Boots

21 - Critical Heavy Power Vambraces

22 - Fervor Heavy Mobile Leggings [superior]

22 - Overkill Ballistic Shield Gauntlets

25 - Fervor Heavy Battle Belt [superior]

33 - Supremacy Heavy Medic Soldier Bracers [superior]

I started listing all but there are too many blues many of which we train blue directly and there is no corresponding green so decided to just list the purples for now. If the purple can be made then there shouldn't be any problem getting the blue.

    Thanks Jenarie

That's fairly Easy to get them out of your list...

Look at all the blue that starts by Critical - Redoubt or Overkill

This way you're sure they come from RE

  11. You will need to list item level in front of all schematic names to make it an useful list. It would also be handy if you list all stats improvements, compared with the base item, in a parenthesis behind each schematic names…

You could also make each item a link to a well-known database, e.g. torhead.

    Sadly Erliandur that's the problem

There is no Database that have any of those... That's the biggest problem... People don't know if it gives anything or not

  12. A lot of people are saying that some specific pattern doesn't seem to get any "upgraded" version...

I wanted to start a thread listing all the schematics that people could RE to a better one successfully (since no website seem to have a grasp of all the possibilities), cause I think some might not have "upgradeable" stats...

But I've been told I was crazy... Am I crazy to ask people to try and help others with what they found ?

If people would have taken 5 minutes to tell in that thread what Schematics they found maybe we would have found a pattern in which some schematics doesn't get any upgrade and save 100 of hours of mats grinding and reverse engineering...

But hey people are not willing to help and share their discoveries...

So unless someone confirms in anyway that this schematic doesn't have an upgrade... You'll have to be patient and HOPE that there is an upgrade...

    Good Luck

  13. They all are affected, i believe its caused by players gathering them, but not taking them....can be done accidently or delibrately.

    It's been fixed...

The ones you can really take are the ones with the little glowy things around now...

What's happening it's some people clicking on it... Scanning but probably leaving to fast thinkin SHIFT-CLICK works... But it doesn't it only appear the loot window and need to click loot all...

Since someone already took the "skill up" you cannot loot it... That's why now you can hover your mouse on it not like the other real bug

  14. lol what?!

You really want to list this all?

Just go and read this: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=45866

    + close the pointless topic.

Yes I do ... And don't worry if you would have taken the time to read properly I said it was coming from reading that thread that I wanted to do that...

I keep updated on all what's happening in there...

If you don't want to help

/wave see yah later alligator !!!

I already added some that a guy posted in Slaign thread (Guide to reverse engineering) I will add all informations people give me here

Thanks to the ones that want to help !!!

  15. Good Day Reverse Engineerer...

I need your help... IN FACT

    Everyone need your help...

Yes It's a crazy Idea... but that's how we can go far...

Please take 5 - 10 minutes of your time go to :

    Listing Thread

And post all the Reverse Engineering you found

I will update all the post at the top with respective Crew Skill !!!

I'm wondering if some recipe are either ... INCREDIBLY hard to get recipe from or... there is just SIMPLY just no recipe for that particular item...

The reason I came to that ? After reading some people saying that they have been REing that SPECIFIC Item and not getting anything .. And me on my own trials ... 1 Specific blue Item (that I don't remember the name) like 25 Time didn't get anything... Decided to go on an other one... BANG right away (ok ok ... maybe 2 or 3 tries maximum)

So if you're nice enough just go post your crew skill what is the item Prototype or Artifact and I'll update the post at the top...
