  1. Thanks for all the good comments and suggestions. I will take them to mind and continue to level up the skill. What ever is said, the community on this forum is very helpful and supportive.
  2. I knew that before I picked Armstech, it was probably not a good crew skill. Still, I like to make my own weapons, especially for my Gunfighter. However, at 120 points into the skill, it's really starting to sink in on really how counter intuitive the skill really is. For example, I have spent a lot of time and credits to finally unlock a purple pattern for nice 17th level blaster pistol. However, despite doing countless Investigation missions, I cant get any Polyfiber-none to be found on GTN either. Soon I will out level the need the the purple blaster pistol and I can't figure out the design philosophy on this skill. Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions, besides dumping the skill, or if it will get any better. Thank you.
  3. As a new Gunslinger, would it be advisable to learn Armstech? I know Biochem or Cybertech are very good skills, but will Armstech be worth it at 50th lvl/endgame? Thank you.
  4. Great Video! As a big Trooper fan, I appreciate the effort that went into creating this video. For the Republic!
  5. Everyone is missing the point of why it cost to re-spec. In other words, why charge people fake money/credits in the first place? It's not like charging to re-spec. really impacts the economy in the game...its not going to other players but to BW. Well, it comes down to a simple equation: Playing time equals money, real money! Specifically, it takes real time to replenish the credits that you spent to re-spec. Although probably not a substantial amount of time, it still takes time. Real time, aggregated over the entire subscription base, equals more time playing overall. More time playing overall means longer subscription times. Longer subscription times means more income generated for BW. Now I don't begrudge them in making as much profit as possible, but they should have done it by increasing the enjoyment of the game rather then by going down the old cynical road that other MMO's have taken. Also, the issue of inflation can be handled in other ways, as opposed to the mechanisms that they have chosen, e.g. charging an exorbitant amount of money to re-spec. In conclusion, I hope BW does make the change to allow dual specs. I do enjoy the game, but these types of policies are starting to wear at my patience. I see a lot of potential in the game and I truly hope for success for it. At this point, as always, it's up to BW to remedy these annoyances...and I wish them the insight to do so!
  6. It does not matter if it's 2% or .05%, or whatever. Those are merely arbitrary numbers to begin with. If a person works for something, puts in the time, it should pay off. Unlike life, and this obviously just a game, it should have a payoff commensurate to the labor/time you put into it. Now that does not mean that gear should be earned with ease, but to compensate people for spending a lot real life hours is wise; especially getting something that is merely made up of 0's and 1's. I don't think it will hinder/break the game if you come up with a better system for compensating for people for putting in the effort.
  7. So I recently got a bad case of the Midichlorians. Thank goodness my doctor gave me a shot of penicillin for it. I feel much better. Wow, was that a rough STD or what. Reducing the theory behind the force to symbiotic organisms, that grant access to the force, was stupid and banal. Lucas was afraid, due to his political leanings, that the force was too much like a religion. Being who he is, and not just leaving it up to people to make up their own minds on the matter, he had to explain it away in a rather feeble manner. For that, and inane dialogue, I despise the prequels. Lastly, Darth Maul, the most dynamic antagonist in the series, should have been allowed to hinder the protagonist from beginning to end. Killing that character off in the first movie was a fatal mistake.
  8. A game is designed according to code. If BW wanted to fairly distribute tokens for gear, they can code the the game to do so. However, leaving getting Battle gear as a mere outcome within the laws of probability is, in my humble opinion, a poorly designed system.
  9. I took your advice and re-edited the post with returns on the paragraphs. Thanks for the tip.
  10. All classes need a nerf except yours! Did BW balance all the classes, probably not. However, calling for a nerf on everyone will only diminish the game overall. Where do you stop? Where do you end? Will it end up like Star War Galaxies, a game that ended up following all of the advice of the nerfing community? We all know how that experiment ended! I hope BW only adjust certain classes in a very minor way. I don't think I agree with the severe re-adjustment of the Operative, it was too severe (and no, I don't play one). If all the classes end up that way, everyone might as well play characters who hit each other with wet noodles...no ouchies or boo boos that way. People get whacked in PvP, it happens. Its only a game, it does not matter. Don't look for fairness in something that is only comprised of 0's and 1's. If the game is only marginally balanced, then I will be happy! Look for fairness , or justice, in your real life. In the end, play to have fun, as opposed calling for everyone to be neutered. Its about trying to do your best with what you have been given....it you win, even with a class that is not perfect, more the better. Just my 2 cents on the continual whining and complaining about nerfing every class...its rapidly getting very boring! Constructive criticism, now that is another matter
  11. Hello, I just wanted to ask the community if I am missing something when I look at the aforementioned weapons. They seem to have identical stats and I can't figure out if one is better than the other. Both are the level 42 PvP vendor choice for Assault Cannons and I am not too sure which one to choose-are the choices just cosmetic ones. Thank you.

  13. I believe that everyone is missing the real point in this discussion. Specifically, crafting won't ever be on a even playing field as raiding due to money: your money! Simply put, BW is a business, and as a business, is operates under the continual pressure to maximize profits for its investors/stock holders.-rightfully so. Raiding, or the pursuit to have the best gear, takes more time, in the end, than does crafting. A longer time in game, per player, means a longer subscription time per account. A longer subscription time means more return on BW initial investment and long turn profit margins. Therefore, even though crafting can take time to make the "great gear," it will never surpass raiding due to the business model that BW and other MMOs operate under. Anyway, my 2 cents. Please have a great week!
