  1. This guy is trolling, most of the server's have stayed consistant or gone up except for a few. Check Torstatus.net
  2. They may have improved the responsiveness timing, but until they allow you to cut off part of these ridiculously long animations this game is never going to be a responsive pvp game. I do not know how many times I am in the middle of an animation when I need to break away and cc or silence a second player who is about to interupt my attacks only to be sitting there hitting buttons waiting for the stupid animation to finish.
  3. Alright let me clarify some things, 1) First off the biggest issue I have with the game engine is that for the amount of action going on in a warzone for example, the computer resources needed to get decent frames seems extremely steep. 2) Regardless of whether you get 120 frames per second, the fluidity of the game still feels really jerky at times. For those of you who have played Activision/Blizzard Games such as WOW, Call of Duty etc., there is a much more fluid nature to movement. This could be said for a whole host of games, I merely mentioned Blizzard because several members here have experience with those games. 3) I never said I was experiencing extremely low frame rates, but literally this game has been more demanding on my cpu than any other recent release I have played. 4) I do not know much about the game engine but I can tell you that AMD has already stated several years back that it no longer directly supports Direct X 9 and Nvidia may possibly also have this stance but I have not seen a statement from them. 5) Maybe if they release a direct X 11 patch, people will see a whole host of improvements since from about 2009 and onwards that has been the standard. (speaking of which in WOW when they released their direct 11 patch, there was about 25 fps difference between that and direct x 9.)
  4. I can't for the life of me understand how Bioware released such a poor optimized game. Back in 2001 there were games like Tribes 2 that could support 64 to 128 players at once on screen with decent graphics running on a single core cpu with a Geforce 3 or a TNT graphics card for that matter. One of the most annoying issues I continue to struggle with is how a 16 person warzone can cause such a significant drop in frame rates. I have come to believe that no amount of power will result in the same smooth movements as in many other mmo's and fps. Its not that I do not enjoy playing SWTOR, because the opposite is true, its just that I continue to struggle with the jerky movements and optimization issues that continue to plague this game since launch. I am currently running a quad core i7 at 4.00 ghz, 12 gigs of ram, and a ati 6990 dual graphics card.
  5. Here is actually the real issue summed up in few bullet points 1) Season 1 gear needs to be easy to obtain in order to keep all new and prior players on an even level, this is because earlier players were given an unfair advantage and continue to have an unfair advantage to new players entering into level 50 pvp. 2) If you want to make a drastic change to how acquiring gear should be, wait until the second round of gear to make the change so that all players are on an even footing. 3) Getting multiple pieces of the same gear is a poor design concept, and at least if you are going to continue to use the bag system implement a way so you are always acquiring a unique piece of gear etc. 4) A non random way to acquire gear is essential for competitive pvp, tournaments, etc.

  7. This is merely a guide for Sith players, it makes no suggestions as to the skill level of either side. It is merely there to help those that are Sith player's and do choose to go on the hunt whether they are just curious spectators looking to gain insight on how the elusive republic survives in the wild, or whether they are big game hunters looking to add an additional trophy rack to their home in order to impress their significant other.
  8. As many of you are aware.... the elusive Republic player can often times be harder to find than a legendary artifact making you even question whether they exist at all. As someone who has leveled to 50 on a standard server, I can't guarantee you will ever find one but I can give you a few words of advice to increase your chances of spotting one. 1) Do not be fooled when you suddenly see a red enemy firing at some random object, this most likely is a computer controlled character as this guide would be completely useless if they were that easy to spot. 2) You will find out as you level that often times Bioware has completely segregated Republic and Sith quests making it so that even if they are there, questing alone will not guarantee a spotting. Your best bet is to start exploring all the parts of the map your quests tell you not to go to. 3) Once you locate a Republic base, continue looking until you find at least 3 more, the elusive Republic player will often times only be near of these and even a main base is no guarantee. 4) After locating 4 Republic bases, park your mount, wait 15 minutes then move onto the next one. While your odds aren't perfect you still have a 25 percent chance, which is about the same as winning a piece of loot in a 4 man group, and significantly greater than your odds earlier which were on par with being struck by lightning. 5) BE WARNED Republic Players are very skiddish and often easily intimidated by Sith players, if you do happen to spot one and attempt to make contact make sure you and or your hunting partners pick an appropriate location where you can easily cut off their escape. ALSO BE WARNED, it is best to limit your group size to 2, any larger and they will often times forego questing on that planet altogether (THINK ILLUM). Anyways Happy Hunting......
  9. I agree that they pushed it out too soon, but had they waited longer it would of had an even worse launch. EA had a decision to either release early to gain extra sales during the holidays, or wait till the first quarter and compete against Diablo 3 and Guild Wars 2 in March
  10. Its not a fair comparison to compete with a game that has had 7 years to fix bugs, balance classes etc. unless you want an extremely long beta that samples hundreds of thousands of players which in itself is not cost effective
  11. The game has been out for a month and the devs are taking everything into consideration and working towards making it a better experience. It is not a fair comparison to compare a several year old WOW, to a new mmo release. Many of the people complaining never played WOW at release. If they did they would realize it had many huge game issues and character balance problems. It was not until after the first year that things started to get better. Furthermore there was no arena, and pvp was basically being one shot by a mage or never being able to kill a soul link warlock. Any game of this magnitude is going to have its share of launch issues, give the developers a few months to get things smoothed out before passing judgement. There has never been a single mmo that has launched without its fair share of issues. If its too big of an issue for you go back to playing WoW, personally after reading the latest IGN article on how blizzard is now catering it towards kids, and the Asian market it has become a non option for me and I am more than content with SWTOR.
  12. I see several threads asking about ability delay and how it appears to be game breaking at the moment. While I do agree it is annoying, the vast majority of peoples complaints can be addressed if they go into the options and change SKILL QUENUING from the default .5 second delay to .0 delay. Skill quenuing was implemented as a learning and resource management options for new players who have not previously played mmos. By deactivating it you should notice a great increase in the responsiveness of your character. As someone who earned Gladiator in Wow, I can say the differences are not that drastic once this is turned off.
