I disagree, my DS empire character is dark sdie II but has LS choices mixed in too, every choice he made had a reason behind it.... yet he is still bad *** and someone not to cross.

I play on the empire and all my characters, including my sith, make their choices based upon their personality and how well it will help the empire. Of course my Bh is more on the side of credits, but still has a heart and honor code. Both my two sith, my agent, and my bh all make a mix of LS and DS choices. My marauder finally hit DS 1 after ending balmorra, and my BH hit LS 1 on Nar shadda. It took so long because they choose based upon themselves. Dark side doesn't= auto worse possible choice.... that's a simplified thing for the black and white element. The truth of the dark side is allowing the use of your emotions as power... plain and simple.

Yes I love the empire. Like someone said earlier, the empire is upfront and no nonsense about its dealings. The republic wants yo to think its all nice and the good guys...truth is both sides have their underhanded and bad stuff..just the empire is upfront. I admire the empires order and system. If it weren't for some of the overboard sith the empire would be a near spotless greased machine. It's not hampered by little tid bits of morality but acts for the overall effectiveness and progression for the empire. You republic lovers can have your ineffective government and the jedi zealots (screw not having emotion.)

My opinion, and no one can change it..just like no one can change trollberzerkers opinion. Is that sith does not= auto evil. To me Sith just allow many temptations and more often than not Sith fall to these temptations. Getting caught up into power and survival of the fittest. The sith empire..minus the extremes we see in TOR, is a highly efficient force. It goes for efficiency and the greater good of it as a whole (again minus the sith extremes). The republic... each time gets is crap together for the war after its been hit the first time, then they fight off the sith then get get complacent again. Good, evil... is perception. The Sith create an easy plan to make a villain because of these many things allowed by the sith code. But the jedi are down right restrictive and in denial of human nature and emotion...or at least that's what it appears to be (see what I did there?) For those who keep yelling the original movies.... think like this Lucas could not tell the entirety of the story and the ins and outs of star wars on screen... it just cant be done. Look at the EU he has approved... that helps make a more clear picture. Overall I disagree with the people saying sith=auto evil all the time. If i had to choose I'd rather choose my emotions to fuel me over denying my emotion.

Trying to connect all these things or even establish what is really what is nigh impossible w/o bioware making statements...which they probably wont because it would kill some rp elements for people. I think of it like C&C pre EA. Each side has its story, but may be more like what if types. Cause you can say Repub too Balmoraa back, I can say I took out all resistance and made repub admit its folly. I think it would be more on the cross rp groups to agree on certain things rather than creating global this is how it is facts. Also side note: Sith can take more losses than repub can at this point....cause repub just took some big losses before this game. Evil can always bonce back with losses to be a threat again later. (as said in Overlord "evil always finds a way.") That and yes we know by the future movies sith dont win but if I recall correctly when the war sparks off again it takes quite a long long time before its over and the Sith go into hiding again.

My answer to all this..classics plot devices that forever always make people look stupid incompetent or like a meaning threat really wasn't so menacing.

Another poster already rebutted this before me, but I will add.... evil will always rise again cause good is dumb...and in this case the true good and true evil is debatable. But republic faction..is one that has same issues we have today..capital hill BS...the empire and its order..that's the way to go.

agreed with the overboard part...but in a grand picture I dont see the empire as evil nor the sith for that matter. I see that some sith take things too far and are evil, but you run into plenty of sith that dont show this over the top lack of thinking "i'm going to do it cause its evil" thinking. Also other than the too far crowd, the sith and jedi are basically two splits of the same religion. Mind you the jedi kept on attacking the sith the last war after they were defeated...you think the sith are over that yet?Think Kill zone if any of you have played that. The jedi have also had their *** moments as well. This is truthfully different ideologies and not truly good and evil..as the republic corruption and ineffectiveness is what led to the empires rise nearly every time.

I sat down and watched starwars with my dad when I was a kid. I saw stormtroopers, I saw vader, I saw At-At's....I was sold, and I've been pro empire forever. Order over foolishness.

I'd have to say the sit hare the reason the sith fade away for a while, if the sith DID NOT stab each other in the back the republic would never stand a chance. Without the back stabs the classic be all win all hero is needed to stand up and do whats virtually and near illogically possible.

On topic, at first I disagreed but after the post that was made about how the empire basically is the survivors who fled korriban it makes a bit of sense. Cause they're basically on their revenge spree atm and obviously you're gonna be bias at those who put you down.

^ this 100% agreed. Look at the original trilogy, if it wasn't for the jedi the empire would have crushed the rebels no sweat. the hero factor won it for them. If you take EU into account the republic goes into a forever cycle of doing okay, then being corrupt itself, then the sith 9or next empire) shows up kicks its *** and by a result the republic gets its act together the jedi come save them...the empire/sith are beaten back, then guess what..the republic slowly becomes incompetent again...and soon gets its *** handed again. Honestly if the sith way didn't tend to lean them towards over the top acts they'd easily be considered one of the better choices to govern..but they tend to get a bit to dark..though sith teachings doesn't necessarily mean evil. In my opinion the empire is more efficient than the republic. I've been pro-empire since OT.
