  1. Whatever side of this argument you are on, as a player honestly ask yourself what is best for the integrity of PVP? And the honest answer is you should have to win to advance the daily/weekly quests. Is it really good for the integrity of PVP to have players queueing up so they can bang out four quick losses, then move onto their next alt to bang out four quick losses, then move onto their next alt and bang out four quick losses? No, it is not.

Most premades are grouping together because they want to weed out as many bads as they can to give themselves a better chance of winning. Winning is fun. Losing isn't. Even if it is unrated competition. Even if queueing solo, you have a chance to end up being grouped with a premade. And with mixed faction warzones, no one can even complain that "THEIR side takes premades much more seriously and has better players".

All I do is queue solo and I continue to hover around 50% win/loss, same as I was before the update. It could be streaky sometimes, but in the end it equals out.

  2. Players abused the hell out of being able to leave a match..."hey look one of my teammates isn't ilvl 306...bye". The second one thing goes wrong three players leave and the remaining players then have no chance of winning.

My problem with the deserter debuff in this game is if you DC and log right back in, you are no longer in the WZ. My assumption is that this will trigger the debuff. That's going to suck.

  3. Only thing i care about is how they ruined the Running Rapid Restoration tactical. Being able to use med probe while moving was really nice. AMP is instant most of the time i use it so the tactical is worthless.

I'm still having major issues with this too. "Giving us the perk" of making something that typically is instant cast usable while moving is asinine. Mercs/commandos are supposed to be the "mobile" BHs/troopers, right? Why make us stationary? The players attacking us are allowed to move while doing so. We should be allowed to move and cast while pillar humping.

  4. It's easy to type suggestions about wanting this, that and the other. But to implement these suggestions costs millions of dollars in programing costs. Even wow, with all of their resources, has only implemented one new small zone in the past year + (timeless isle).

I think once the movie comes out, if these guys market this right, there will be a huge spike in players. Especially after one/two movies starts rolling out year after year after year. I can only assume (hope) that Disney is considering doing an Old Republic timeline movie.

I guess I'm just an easy customer to please, because I think this is a really good game. It's up to us, the players, to make the communities we want; the RP, the WPVP, etc. Once we can have houses and fortresses and guilds can have "turfs" on certain planets, I think that will help create a lot of WPVP.

  5. In wow I have the perma-flag addon, so being flagged never falls off of me, even when I'm in one of the Horde's capital cities. They should have some type of option for that in this game.

Also, we should be able to invade the other faction's fleet. Nothing brings a faction together like a capital city invasion.

When on a pvp server you should never be safe.

  6. you know most of them would say it anyway, in warzones you see them call everyone at the end bads even though the rest of the team outdid them in healing or damage by a lot. Ever seen a guy, a scoundrel healer, literally, only do barely 90k heals the whole match and 50k damage? he was not defending or anything, and he dared to call our voidstar team all bads. From the healer who did not even heal 90k ON A SCOUNDREL that is just truly sad.

There are too many variables in a single warzone that one can lean on (I was defending, they were targeting me because they knew I was the best player on our team, etc). But an armory is a tell all of how good or bad you really are. Terrific fun laying into a trash talker about how they don't know how to spec, gem, enchant, glyph and how horrible their arena ratings are.

    We need an armory.

  7. All I read in these forums is "lol, you are a bad player".

I'm literally getting sick of it right now, because the PvP forums have degenrated so much that PvP players are merely able to utter this sentenced, but nothing more nowadays.

This kind of "argument" is nowadays used for ANYTHING !

"I couldn't buy that at the grocery, because it was sold out." "You are a bad, then."

The weather is bad ? It's because you are a bad player.

The stink smells ? Because you are a bad player.

10 miles away from you an car accident happened - because you are a bad player.

An asteroid crashed into the moon ? Because you are a bad player.

The Dinosaurs died out - Because you are a bad player.

That was one of the funnier posts I have ever read. But it is true. Which is why this game needs an armory. You will see these "you are bad" and "L2P" decrease by 95%+ in one week of an armory launch.

Once the first "you are bad" poster's armory is critiqued with an "lol you don't even have a 1550 arena achievement and good job speccing yourself to lose, so please stop calling other people bad because clearly you suck. Now go learn something about pvp before you come to the pvp message boards", you will see most of these posters disappear.

  8. Two major things happened.

The first happened a week or so ago with a patch that introduced new Bolster exploits into the mix. The most well-known is that weapons/offhands carrying level 45 item modifications (they show up as #46 when slotted, and are named things like "Resolve Hilt 20") are now Bolstering better than Obroan variants.

The second is that Patch 2.6 (live as of today) made several class changes. The most notable is the buff to Scoundrel/Operative DPS, which many of us feel have pushed them over the top.

Folks are seeing skilled Scouperatives 3-5 shot players (depending on lucky crits and relic procs) through fully-optimized/augmented Conqueror/Obroan gear. They were doing it with clever Bolster exploiting alone, but it's become an even bigger issue with today's changes. I've been called a liar ad nauseum for stating so, but what're gonna do?

Thank you. So it is exploits that are two-shotting me. It's definitely not just scoundrels/OPs that are lighting me up. Assassins, Juggs, even a madness Sorc's dots were smoking me. Whatever the Alliance counterparts to those classes too. I just can't imagine that everyone is using exploits. Something happened with that patch a week ago. Either an extreme silent nerf or a glitch.

I'll give them a week or so to fix it. I'll log back in then and if it's not fixed I'm done. I'll spend my $15 a month elsewhere. I'm not going to pay to have some no-skill keyboard turning clicker two-shot before I know I'm even being targeted.

  9. Bodyguard mercenary actually got massively buffed.

If you consider being able to put kolto shell on more than one player a "massive buff", then yeah I guess so. It will make us look a little better on the end of WZ scoreboard I guess, but that is not the issue because I always kept my one shell on me anyway.

I am talking about our damage reduction/healing in comparison to damage. I have been playing since launch night. It is a major difference. I am literally getting two-shot over and over and over. As I'm pillar humping and the guy isn't even on me my health is dropping.

  10. Fellow players,

I'm a Merc healer. I went away for about ten days and came back last week and there was an EXTREME nerf to my survivability, which only got worse after today's patch.

I pride myself on my survivability and my ability to LOS, pillar hump and run circles around people. I went from dying 0-1 times a WZ to dying literally in excess of 10 times a match. The first shot takes me down to 30% (no exaggeration). At which time I have to blow all my CDs and that doesn't even heal through the 2nd/3rd shots.

Even when I pop my bubble and I can't spam heal through one opponent's incoming damage.

Please spare me your flames, trolls and L2P's. Things have changed significantly. Did dps get psychotic major damage buffs to all of their abilities? Did merc armor get major nerfs? Did the scaling of our heals get significant decreases to that of damage?

Again...this isn't related to today's patch. I noticed it last week. It got even worse today.

I'm about to cancel my subscription so someone please tell me what these moron devs did. Please.

  11. I hate the whole spitting thing. I get it a lot in this game (not when I'm dead).

Typically I will /pray over a dead body (unfortunately I can't do that emote in this game) or plant the flag of ownership in them if it was an epic kill (also unfortunately not in this game....yet).

  12. See we don't RP whiny Luke Skywakers on this server, well except Hywhan (minus the whining, cuz his midichlorian count has been confirmed at over 55,000), but for the most part we actually suck it up and just "deal with it" and just PvP. We have bads like any other server, which we tolerate as much as possible, but what we don't need is RP types crying about how unfair their tralala was touched and how the big bad premades are just meanie-heads and we all should just be one with the Force while singing an Ewok song and hugging each other.

Welcome to a PvP server, where your premade tears and fears, are quite delicious.

    Love, Pistols

    Woooo dude, calm down.

Sounds to me like you're the one who should be on a pve server.

Just go find three friends, queue up and no-skill your way to victory.

Didn't mean to get your panties in a twist. Just forget I posted anything.

  13. Maybe a PvP server isn't for you...

You can save this generic cookie-cutter answer for when I start complaining about getting ganked while trying to do my dailies. I love open wpvp so a pvp server is for me.

I am talking about trying to balance out the random 8-man pugs. And now that there are ranked WZs for people to group-queue in, what is the need for bringing 4 mic'ed up and coordinated players to an 8-man pug match?

  14. it could be coincidental, but since last week, almost any WZ i join, pre-55 or 55, seems to contain at least one 3-4 man premade. Sometimes I get on the premade side, sometimes not. But the matches have been ridiculusly unbalanced. Either i'm on the team that gets steamrolled, or we do the steamrolling. Maybe 2 matches out of 20 are close/competitive/fun. There does not seem to be any fun, competitive games anymore. I'm hoping its just a temporary trend with the holiday week and double-xp.

I do not have anything against the leavers. Until something is done to either balance out the premade advantage or compensate( more comms/money as rewards for finishing the wz if you solo queue perhaps?) the pugger for putting up with that disadvantage , i wont fault anyone for leaving to not waste their time in the current state of WZs..

The only fix would be to not let 4 players queue together, and that would be a good fix. We have ranked now, there is no need for 4 players to queue for a random together. In a 40-man AV or 15-man AB it's not that big of a deal, but when it is 8v8, 4 guys mic'ed up and focusing their targets is disgustingly unfair to the other team.

Incidentally all day today almost every team I was on was a man short for either all or almost all of match. In one void star we played the entire first round with only six and got a seventh at the end of round two.

  15. I'll support a deserter debuff when I don't get backfilled 50% of the time while queuing solo AND when they put in an actual queue system so I don't have to play freaking hypergates 75% of my games.

The game never should have launched without a deserter debuff. That fact that it's 18 months later and players are still complaining about it only compounds their mistake. What are they waiting for?

At least here the queue time is relatively quick. On Jung Ma I would sit in a queue for 10+ minutes sometimes, only to get into an already decided loss. And sometimes that would happen several times in a row to me.

When players make a mess, they should be forced to sit in it and not cut and run and leave it for the next guy.

  16. As a long time pvp healer, the best advice I can give you is to find a pillar and make friends with it. You need to pillar hump and LOS in this game a lot. There are no holy pallies here. No one in this game can stand in the fire. Once you are targeted, just concentrate on pillar humping and keeping yourself up.

Regarding all of your losses as an imp; welcome to the party pal. Keep queueing and hopefully you'll get some imp vs imp matches and actually have a 50/50 chance to win. Imp vs pub losses are not your fault. The pubs here take a lot more pride in doing pvp right. But don't worry; server transfers are coming.

Good luck and I look forward to standing next to you and healing WZs with you.

  17. Really? You read multiple posts on Bolster? Did you check whether those posts referred to Bolster in 1.7 or 2.0? Or enter any warzones at all, either before or after the patch?

1.7 = Bolster levels 10-49 up to 49 to make warzones fairer. No bolster in level 50 warzones

2.0 = Bolster boosts levels, but also gear - slot by slot - so that people aren't destroyed just because they don't have top level gear, and now it also applies to level 55 warzones so people entering those for the first time aren't basically a squishy pink paste until they gear up.

N.B. This includes a generous chunk of expertise, so your war hero gear is still pretty hot in warzones until you get the new PvP gear, which is better than WH/EWH or PvE gear. Only now WH gear's PvE stats are better.

Lowbie warzones are also subdivided into 10-29 and 30-54 so that characters without many abilitites yet aren't horribly molested by those with nearly a full complement.

Any clearer now? Feel free to formulate more coherent complaints based on the actual system.

edit: I'm tired, been PvPing and a bit drunk, so please excuse a little light sarcasm.

Here is my more coherent complaint based on the actual system:

PVP gear is worthless since non-PVP gear will give a player the same stats.

    So why bother grinding?

There are two types of people in the world; those who want to work hard and be rewarded for their efforts, and those who want everything handed to them. Looks like this game is catering to the later.

And what about when I am out in WPVP and I get jumped? How "pretty hot" is my WH gear then? You know...the WH gear that I spent months grinding for?

I haven't been drinking, but forgive my light sarcasm. I am kind of a d-bag and everyone knows it.

  18. To the folks chumping my post, this is where I am coming from:

I am half way through level 53 and I haven't replaced ONE SINGLE piece of my level 50 elite pvp gear. Nothing even close. And I am willing to bet that it won't change over the next level and a half either. This isn't like wow where halfway through the first level of the new xpac greens are dropping that are far and away better than the prior xpac epic gear.

I have read the multiple posts on bolster and as far as I can see, it stops at level 49. Or does it still? Too many contradicting arguments about it for me to get a feel for it.

So I see myself heading to the warzones to get the new level pvp gear in the best gear available to me, which is still LAST XPAC's pvp gear, and it not being pvp gear at all. And I am not looking forward to getting taunted while I am being two-shot over and over again because I have absolutely no expertise even though I spent months grinding it out.

Make the prior xpac's pvp gear obsolete by giving me better gear to acquire, not by nerfing it to being useless and then making me grind back up to basically the same gear I used to have.

And what the heck is point of this bolster change anyway? Was it so people in non-pvp gear have the same pvp stats as those in pvp gear? Way to spit in the face of your hard core pvpers that actually use your product to grind it out. Good job rewarding us with nothing. If that is the case then why even have gear at all? Let's just all play naked if were all going to have identical stats regardless.

    edit: spelling
