  1. No...not really. I'm pretty happy with the way madness and lightning trees look. I really don't see any skills that are totally out of line with the way the tree works. When i play around with speccing those trees i never get a feeling "Wow, this skill point pretty much does nothing for me"

  3. Its not that crit is bad, its just underwhelming to have a skill so high in the tree that's almost a carbon copy of one at the very bottom. The point of my post wasn't "omg si healing is weak", just the corruption tree is uninspired abd has too many useless/filler skills.
  4. Yeah, you can do the content with it fine. I just hate all the filler points. When i put into a skill a wanna feel the woosh of getting stronger. Not well i guess i'll improve my non-existent aoe heals...
  5. I love SI sorc class, it's everything i always wished a caster could be. Coming from wow as mainly caster classes it basically has all of them rolled into the same caster (a little bit of mage, lock, and priest all together) However, the corruption tree needs a total overhaul. I want to be an effective healer, and I'm sure it's possible end game and i do fine right now in FPs, but most of the skills in corruption are...terrible! Right now my spec has 11 in lightning and the rest i plan on putting into corruption. But the more i look at corruption right now, the less appealing it seems. Let's get specific: first tier: Dark mending is a great, must have skill. Seeping darkness 3 points for 3% crit? Haunting presence 6% presence 3% healing? Especially low level (seeing as how it's first tier it's inherently for low level) neither of these will have much impact at all. Both are filler and mostly will have no impact. Second tier: Lucidity is a must have, but the other two? Awful! Empty body increases healing recieved. That makes no sense at all. Force suffusion is even worse. At least up to 28 where i am now, we have 1 aoe damage spell and no aoe heals. Absolutely worthless. So skip those and go fill in the other lackluster almost meaningless skills but better than this garbage filler in tier 2. Third tier: Finally a decent tier. Resurgence, force bending, and efficacious current are all great. But darkresilience... 2 points for 2% less health consumed by consumption...wow. Just wow, that's so bad i don't know what to say. Maybe if it was 20% that would make some impact. But 2% is just pitiful. That's barely anything. Forth tier: Reconstruct and purity are pretty nice, fadeout is ok but requires points in that useless dark resilience skill. BLEH! But to move into the fifth tier you'll need to fill 2 more points in awful skills. Empty body, suffusion, or consumption are the only options and none of them will make any impact. This is the second time now speccing up the tiers i have to pick something horrible to advance through the tree. Fifth tier: Innervate looks great. Conspiring force might be decent for pvp...and life surge. 2% crit -2% damage taken...Didn't we already waste some skills at the bottom of the tree for some crit? Now we get to do it again! woo... Sixth and Seventh tier: All skills are great. no complaints. It really seems like maybe half of the skills in this tree are good from a strict PVE perspective. The other half? awful. Add in before any smart sorc healer would touch corruption they will definitely put at least 5 in lightning for the pretty much required electric induction and reserves and you got yourself a mess of a spec. I have faith that BW can tweak (really, this needs an overhaul rather than tweak) corruption into a worthwhile tree. My suggestion would be to totally scrap at least 2 of the useless skills mentioned above and move electric induction and reserves to corruption. Best replacement for lightning tree would be a 3 point skill that improves hit and a 2 point +crit and something else skill. Electric tree having no +hit skill currently is a big oversight. Life surge and seeping darkness can easily be merged into 1 skill. New skills to add to corruption that would improve it would be a passive +HoT, some sort of threat dump, and maybe a 3 min CD ability that increases healing done for a short duration.
  6. just like using a channeled ability like chainlightning... use something else if you don't have three seconds to spend?
  7. Yup, i got shot between casts and occasionally do some weird animation like clutching my shoulder and there's a small delay when that happens before my next cast. I think that's...working as intended.
  8. Stuff that's not on GCD like jolt (really my only example from my class and experience) work pretty well. I still move to interrupt my current cast and use it instantly, i don't really notice a difference in getting a jolt off vs. a counterspell. In PVP everything is laggy and it's hard as hell, but i think that's a different problem. I mean, in WOW it's not like mid cast of arcane explosion i could CS, same with here and jolt...
  9. It's not that you wait .5 seconds after mashing the button. Try it how i suggested, queue your ability before the end of your last and your character automatically moves into the next animation. Don't wait for the end of your cast/attack to queue up your next move and things flow nicely along.
  10. Woah woah, making presumptions. I played wow for a loong time, it's a great game. This system is not superior, i don't think i made that statement. It's really different. i think you can adjust and make it fully functional and enjoyable. You really input commands closer to FFXI. You tell your char to use the ability, and it queues for next use. You put them in ahead of time. I don't think we'll again any dev response to all this aside from "Working as intended" and "Ability X has a bug issue, we're working on a fix for that" And the "Button mashing" wow comment had *SOME CLASSES* and not that's all wow is put on it. You ever tank as a bear? Button mash. Prot warrior? Like playing a piano. Totally different play styles in those classes (I prefered bear myself, much easier lol)
  11. lol, well i guess that this isn't for you. I'm sure when people get used to queueing a skill and waiting for it to go off you'll either love or hate that. I think it rewards more fore-thought in skill usage and is trying to dissuade the playstyle in wow of button smashing that a lot of classes could do. Some abilities may just be broken. I hear a lot of complaints out of smugglers and melee classes than casters/ranged. Healing is perfectlly smooth now. I don't mash my heal key rapidly like in wow. When my heal is almost finished a queue my next action, whether it's another heal, bubble, or lightning. My heal finishes and it goes straight into the action i queued up. Repeat. Now when the queue was set to 0 and i was smashing buttons rapidly after casts **** was unbearable. Individual abilities may be bugged though, I've only played SI and BH. I hate how with my BH i click my rocket attack, so first the hand comes up, i hear some click sounds, and then the rocket launches. But I think all that is just intended by BW. Bring stuff like that up specifically. TLDR- You're doing it wrong
  12. OK, I've played around with this issue a lot today. It did always seem to feel a bit unresponsive in combat and I felt out of control. This thread really hit the nail on the head. But now i think i've got something figured out. First off, that queue delay seconds thing in preferences? Keep it at max, 1.0. Now what this does is you have 1 second before the finish of your current move to queue up your next move. Using this queue is really key to control in combat, something it took me 26 1/2 levels to realize. You don't control this game like wow. It controls like KOTOR, except you queue 1 action rather than three. I think if the window to queue was increased to 1.5 seconds (that's how long GCD is right?) it would work a little better. I think everything in my rotations under this mind set works great now except when i queue too early into GCD. I know, many are thinking i'm a drunk troll. I first noticed control problems trying to throw affliction up on all targets, just like corrupting everything as a wow lock. Seemed like sometimes my spell just wouldn't go off. But that was because i was trying to do it like a wow lock instead of using this queue system. It's hard to explain. Now that i've figured out how this queue thing works i think it's actually easier to do than in wow. It's a totally different system than wow, more of an RPG feel than an action feel. I like it. Some will not even after understanding how it works. Oh, PVP itself just seems laggy though. It takes a looong time after i queue anything before it really goes off.
