So I have cancelled my subscription. Maybe some devs care about this, maybe not.
Hit lvl 50 a couple of days ago with my Sage. Purchased the game because it was said to be story driven. I like that kind of games, and the story here is good.
(Typing /played in the chat revealed that it took me 247 hours to reach 50, which is around what it takes to play through a regular single player RPG.)
Bugs? Some small ones - nothing game breaking or annoying - reported them to make some contribution to increased product quality.
Raised syntweave to 400, but havn't been able to craft a single item that was better than what I got from regularly upgrading the mods of the armor and weapon. So crafting seems pointless.
Done all space missions except a few top level ones. Don't really like arcade game shooters but they were fun for awhile. Pretty lame that some of the missions are almost identical.
Done all heroics and flashpoints up to lvl 32 (or so) with group. At higher levels it was impossible to find a group in reasonable time so I waited until I was 9 levels above them and soloed them just to have them done. The level 42+ ones remain undone. Hardly seen anyone making calls for them either. On prime time the server status is "heavy".
The level 50 stuff, Ilum etc? Why do it? No rewards worth mentioning so far, no more levels, no more character development - in short no incitement to continue.
So in practice not much of a multi-player game. Didn't the developers see this coming when they fragmented the player population into so small "shards" that they don't have enough players for group play. By doing so they killed the multiplayer part of the game and more or less forced players to solo play and to skip many of the group missions. WHen I did Corellia the maxium number of players there were 5 on prime time in the evening. On the space station it's between 40 - 50 on prime time. For people to find group that number has to be much larger - hundreds instead of tens.
Why pay for subscription fee to play a single player game online? Not me - good bye.
