As the title states this is more or less going to be my first Vanguard and I'll admit to say I'm clueless about the class in general. While I plan on having what I mainly need to know for endgame figured out by the time I get there, I'm not sure as to what would be the best path to take in terms of leveling, be it spec, rotation, or which companion to use. So I was hoping my senior vanguards/powertechs could offer me some pointers.

Again, please read all of my posts since you're clearly only reading the first page. The Operative got me into this game, I've played it ALOT before subscribing myself due to the fact that my friend wanted me to "give it a try" (I was boycotting this since no KOTOR 3). This was my first class and I've played it, consistently, and at 50 for AWHILE.

Ahem, please read all I've posted. Operatives are what started me on this game since I was constantly using my friends prior to subscribing myself. I happen to have played it quite a bit. Just because my OWN Operative is only 22 that doesn't mean I have no prior experience with the class itself. I have addressed this, if you choose to ignore it be my guest.

Whoa I'm not going to go THAT far. It DOES need improvement, I'm just saying that it isn't as bad as people claim. Also, to all of the "You're level 22 ****" people, I've played my friend's 50 concealment Op before AND after the nerfs, which is the reason I made my own.

It's a strike from stealth spec, what did you expect? I haven't tried Lethality (I actually asked how it fares since I WANT to try it) and I HONESTLY feel this is just a "Pick your targets and L2P" kind of thing. I played a rogue in WoW for at least 3 years and when it's a gear issue, you pick your targets. When you have the gear? It's L2P. I'm not as clueless as you people think so please stop insulting me by assuming so.

It was under my impression it was a gear-dependent class and most of you are just whiners

Really? Check 1.2 patch notes, that's MORE than enough of a buff to make someone want to play the class, but again, that's just me.

Marauders got a huge buff and everyone wants 1 while Operatives didn't. In a NORMAL situation I wouldn't think the Operative was bad, just everyone wants the shiny new toy.

I don't play lethality, I DO play my marauder on occasion, and I honestly think you're avoiding the question in an attempt to keep complaining about the class that isn't as bad as you say it is, but that's just me ^.^

I see SOO many people just COMPLAINING non-stop that Ops are weak and not very good damage dealers or that they're "dead". I see it alot in regards to PVP, which I don't understand. How are these complainers playing? Because if they try to bullrush a group of players, I'm not surprised they get slaughtered. Weak damage? At level 22 my concealment Op tears through people. Before you try to say "That's non- 50!", look up some videos. You see a 50 Op take most people to dead or almost dead within their burst, and THAT'S weak? Really? I don't get it. P.S. I've been meaning to try Lethality, how good is it for leveling and when does that start?( This is unrelated to above xD)

I appreciate the feedback, it really helps. I've noticed I have some more burst but going back to questing in between WZs I feel like a glass cannon. I can't say I'm disappointed though so I'll keep playing it out until I decide that Rage is worth another try.

I'm about level 43 and I've played Annihilation throughout most of the leveling process. I've seen ALOT of Carnage Maras lately so I decided to give it a go, but I've come into a bit of a problem. I don't know how to play it! I'm so used to the basic concept of "Keep DoTs up and use Annihilate when possible" that this spec is completely foreign to me. So if there are any Carnage players out there willing to give me a few pointers, I'd appreciate it
