  1. When did the devs state that Revan survived? Must have missed a post..

Not the devs but a lead writer (well, actually ex lead writer but he was not fired, but left the company on his own to have more time for 'other things').

Q: Did Revan really fall to the dark side again? How come he wants to commit genocide and exterminate the whole race? And how is that possible that Republic is supporting him in doing so - it's against all principles that the jedi believe in. And there are jedi aboard the foundry, along with republic troops.

A: Revan always walked on the edge of light and dark, and being corrupted by the Emperor's presence for 300 years did push him over in that direction. However, that doesn't mean he can't be redeemed again later - remember, you never see him die; he just vanishes. We left that door open on purpose.

  2. Yeah, I actually asked Drew Karpyshyn (you know the guy who was a lead writer for KotOR, came up with Revan character and had a huge impact on the SW:TOR overall storyline) about Revan's future fate.

The interview is split into two parts, here are the links:

    PART 1: http://lorefreak.blogspot.com/2012/02/exlusive-interview-with-drew-karpyshyn.html

    PART 2: http://lorefreak.blogspot.com/2012/03/exclusive-interview-with-drew-karpyshyn.html

I was not the only one to ask him about this - though his answer was always very cryptic at best, with many 'buts'.

  3. I came back to SWTOR just recently (in fact like 2-3 days ago) due to bordeom diablo 3 has turned into. I haven't done the Foundry flashpoint in a while, I think the last time I did it was about 2 or 3 months ago thus obviously before 1.3 patch along with some other minor patches.

Did they slightly change the way Revan vanishes at the end of the Foundry? After he dissapears in the flash of lightning you can clearly see some steam coming off the ground... Was it there before? Maybe I am looking too much into it heh? I'll try to find some 1.1/1.2 Revan kill video on YT in order to be able to compare it.

  4. What is this, I don't even...

When I saw this thread I was like: "*** is op talking about lol?". And then I saw the new vid showing post 1.2 dread masters... Seriously BioWare? Lol, just ****in change it to how it was before... I know that your intentions were good, pure and all but no, just no... They look AWFUL.

  5. I heard that Drew Karpyshyn wrote both Jedi Prisoner and Foundry FP stories. If that is true, then I would say retcon it.

I do not know where you read it, but this statement is actually completly wrong. DK was responsible only for the Jedi Prisoner flashpoint. He had nothing to do with the Foundry FP.

I guess that is what happens when you let people who know nothing of certain character continue his story and pretty much retcon all of it.

My bet is that the writer/group of writers who was/were responsible for the Foundry FP just glanced at wookieepieda, spent like 5 minutes reading stuff about Revan and then thought of something along those lines: "Ok, so lets make players feel heroic by making Revan a killable boss with teh epix loot! We shall make him evil sith lord again!"

    Outcome is what it is...

  6. Oh, this again.

I can't get the spoiler thingy to work. It's really him, the Exile would know and she is the one guiding you to rescue him. Also, yes he is killed at the hands of the imperial players, get over it.

While Revan at the Maelstorm Nebula prison is the real one without a doubts (as few people said - Meetra Surik's entity would be able to sense if he was fake) the one at the Foundry COULD BE some sort of clone/distraction. Though I think it would be just stretching it and not really something that I would consider as good writing. Also, when you talk with Revan aboard Telos V after freeing him, he tells you about the Foundry and that he plans to use it to "save the galaxy". So yeah, Revan at the Foundry is most likely real.

And no, he is not killed there - just defeated. Two very different things. Get over it. :p

  7. I dont think Revan would have made a mistake with who he fought. I think the fight with Revan is also explained in the book that they delayed the Emperor's plans. Who knows, I do think that the Emperor can be killed, but it could be similar to Sidious who was able to transfer his life presence and abilities to other people or clones.

Actually, it is a fact that he can do so.

  8. Just did last companion quest after maxing out my affection with Kira. It was called "The Emperor's Orphans". Very interesting quest that gave some hints to Jedi Knight about the Emperor's possible survival of their confronation.

Kira has received a message from her childhood friend Suri. Suri was also a Child of the Empire and seems to be hearing the voice of the now dead Emperor. Kira says that it would be a good idea to investigate and possibly help Suri's condition so Kira gives you Suri's coordinates.

When you encounter Suri and ask her how is it possible that she is hearing the Emperor that is dead, she reveals to you the orders given to her by the supposedly dead Emperor. He wants her to "set fires on Ord Mantell and invade planet of Manaan" - or something along that lines, can't exactly remember. It may be just ramble of a mad girl or something more...

Most intruging if you ask me! Another in-game hint/confirmation that the Emperor is alive and well.

  9. Dark council member my arse... Vowrawn is a wuss, any acolyte that just arrived on Korriban could probably beat him in combat lol! He is just cunning, little and nasty worm thus managed to keep his seat for so long, surrounding himself with security. Coward! :p

Still, I agree that he is kind of cool. Diveristy is good, we don't want every sith to be walking embodiment of strength and evil right?

  10. Except for the fact that he pretty much "wrote" Revan (the character), and just had to feature him in his Bane books when he didn't need to be shown or mentioned even once.

It's safe to say that Revan was Drew's "baby" when it comes to his contributions to Star Wars.

Yeah, I never said otherwise. Revan is purely Drew's creation but it doesn't change the fact that even without him, Revan's story can continue.

  11. I am going to hazard a guess and assume he is under some sort of contract to at the very least contenue the Jedi Knights story.

I wouldn't be surprised if the future story itself for most of the characters was already there (for like years to come). Just need to be implemented into the game. ;)

  12. Drew doesn''t own Revan , so I do not think him leaving will be the end of Revan. I think it will be up to LucasArts and Bioware if they wish to continue a story or whatnot on Revan .

I just imagined in my head that in like few years time they would officially announce the KotOR 3 that would close KotOR trilogy and in some awesome, unexpected and fitting way end Revan's character. Omg, I would literally just die out of having geek stroke.
