  1. I often feel like I am the only one bothering to heal in PvP, but you can't really blame people for that, the Trauma debuff makes it, if not pointless, then at least a lot less interesting. For me, knowing that most of the time my healing will only really postpone the inevitable is a bit off-putting, sure as a healing specced Sorc I have other skills and utilities which are a essential, but I feel a bit like the core of my spec is letting me down. Then again, I have been a spoiled armored ambulance Holy Paladin in WoW for years now so I'm likely still in the process of accepting my new found short-comings. That being said, I like long intense fights where intelligent healing makes a difference, not this piece-meal 'we will all die quickly' fast food version I feel like I am currently being served.
  2. There's a lot to be said for simply getting organised, it does make things a lot simpler, however I do sympathize for the people on servers with gross imbalances. On my server things have seemed quite even, and we have some awesome back and forths at the moment, and I can only assume that once people get a little more organised it'll be a lot better.
  3. Bump is in order. Seen the Sorc PvP sets? I'm not even excited to farm it.
  4. This post actually made my morning. Thank you OP, and I whole heartedly agree. This game brought people I used to play with years ago back out of the wood work and we've got a nice little guild on the go now, with a line-up that closely resembles my first (and courtesy of rose-tinted glasses) and best experience in an MMO. Thankfully, only me and one other person in the guild bothers with the official forums, because they can be a real downer due to the overwhelming negativity here. It's not to say that negativity isn't warranted to some extent, the game has issues, absolutely, but things do tend to get blown out of proportion. I will stick to my usual tactic of giving the game 6-9 months before I will start being overly negative. Again, thank you OP for this. +1
  5. The game certainly has it's issues, no doubt about that, however, lack of engaging content, imo, is not one of them. Sure the distances are long, and it did/does annoy me, it feels like there's a missing Taxi station somewhere that should've been in there. That being said, I guess I've been lucky, I've not had any quests bug out on me so far, with the exception of one of the Ilum ones (the fat guy in the hangar). That was it.
  6. As a fellow healer I have to agree with you, I miss something like (notice I'm not saying a direct copy) Grid from WoW, but I am coping for now, at its present state it's a lot like early WoW, think back to those old early vanilla Baron runs. As for the dungeon finder, I am not too bothered, if it is implemented, I would hope it would only be a server-wide feature, at least at the beginning, as I absolutely can't stand the thought of a x-server LFG tool.
  7. It's not okay at all. You need to ask your group, if they don't need it, fine, but realise that Main Toon>Companions. You'd get black listed by most people for needing on something for your companion if other people's main toon needs it.

  9. I had a lot of that kind of behavior in WoW, which is why I rolled on an RP server this time. I don't RP, but I generally found that people on RP servers are much nicer, more helpful and generally not the kind of people you'd pull out of the ***-end of human society. I play on Trask Ulgo - EU and so far I haven't met anyone that acted half as bad as what I am used to from WoW.
  10. I think this is a good move, and I am happy that BW doesn't roll out a faulty patch. Encouraging for the future.
  11. Done it, nice idea, not that they will care all that much.
  12. Your experience is vastly different to mine then, I'd say about 6 out of every 10 were rather insufferable. You could make a case that the LFG tool made it much easier to be a jerk, and that created a platform for the poor state of the community. I played WoW from release and up until SW came out, with brief stints in both WH and Rift, and no where was it quite as bad as in WoW. You allow people to be faceless and give them a system which offer no repercussions, it's a recipe for disaster.
  13. I am likely to be repeating what has already been said here, I didn't read all 5 pages from beginning to end, but I will chime in with my 2 cents. I am not opposed to a LFD tool, as long as its not a cross server tool. Something like the WoW dungeon finder, but confined to the server you are on, it would be fine. The moment it starts going cross server, I will oppose it, for several reasons but the two main deal breakers for me here are: 1. Community Feel - Grouping with people from your own server creates a sense of community, you get to know people better, you group with random Bounty Hunter #2 named BoobaFeet and despite his less than illustrious name choice he's a hell of a tank, added to friends. You get to know the people on your server, the good, the bad, and the ugly. 2. Responsibility - Having a LFG system go cross server eliminates any repercussions of acting like a complete douche bag, and in the age of complete internet anonymity it's been shown time and again that people don't respond well to that. I'm not worried about someone stealing my loot, I am worried about not having a good time, and if WoWs system has shown me anything, it's that grouping with people who doesn't care how they act is the super highway to not having fun. In WoW, after the x-server LFG tool got implemented, as a member of a small guild of friends, we were at first very happy about it, it meant that even if our tank buddy wasn't around, we'd still get to do things without much hassle, but the reality is that often the people you come across are arrogant, elitist or completely devoid of social skills. That's not to mention the amount of runs I've done where no one has said a single word to each other... It makes the experience incredibly impersonal, and yes, I did prefer waiting 20 min for a tank to the quick in - quick out fast food version of an MMO that WoW became after the LFG tool went live. I miss the days where you knew people on your server, you knew the resident village idiot, you knew the tanks you could trust, and in turn they knew the healers or reliable DPSers. THAT is a community, THAT is what an MMO, in my opinion should be about. Not a bloated, gear centric and elitist beast where everyone wears a blank mask and no one knows each other.
  14. That sounds completely obscene to me. There is no way I can get my head around the abstract thinking this 'logic' would involve. If that's the case, make them downloadable, make me agree to a EULA stating I won't reproduce/redistribute and slap a huge lawsuit threat on top of it, just do whatever, but at least give us the soddin' textures.
