  1. The entire system of guild perks seems a very interesting and enticing way to do content repeatedly, regardless of guild size. My only question is, with the new costs for the Flagships, will the guilds get refunded the difference of 35,000,000 that they've already put in as recognition of some people's efforts? Or, "no backsies", "sorry"?
  2. You know, aside from BC and EH, there is also a European crowd. And currently, the Progenitor is #2 european server based on the link you just posted My take would be 'at least' 1 server on the US side and 1 on the EU side.
  3. Greetings Roleplayers! So you're interested in starting SW:TOR and would like to do a little bit of roleplay other than the usual pve / pvp? Up until April 2016's patch there were several Roleplay servers, who in turn had their communities with friendly and helpful roleplayers. Until we see some news from BioWare regarding how they will handle the matter, I'd like to give all new players a heads up about the four servers below, since you will find communities of Roleplayers there and hopefully save you some trouble of searching and disappointment. Server List: Ebon Hawk The Progenitor Begeren Colony Jung Ma Finally, you can always look for sites like http://www.swtor-rp.com for all of your roleplaying needs.
  4. I, too, would also like to second the above suggestions. Likewise, I have said my piece in the General Discussion thread and I sincerely hope that BioWare will at least consider our needs as well.
  5. Chiming my support here too. This game had four server designations: PVP, PVE, RP, RP-PVP. With the new "Focus" system, you - BioWare - have essentially decided to remove the RP and RP-PVP designations. This decision - in the long run - will have several very specific effects that have been observed in every mmorpg ever: People that want to Roleplay will spread to more servers, without a visible clue on "preferred" Servers, thus thinning out the community further and reducing the number of people to play with. Something a pvp or pve player won't have an issue with - thanks to their Focus! RP Servers have - traditionally - carried certain 'rulesets' on behavior and naming. Even if never enforced, this is not even implied anymore. As time passes and the PVP / PVE community spreads - much like the roleplayers will - Roleplayers will become a minority. And a minority that is often harassed by PVP or PVE players, even if some roleplayers can compete as well as any of the other two groups Please, take this thread and posts as a reminder that Role Players are paying customers as well, and in fact probably pay a lot more in CC in order to perform simple cosmetic changes, or buying "that one suit" or the other to fit their play style. There are a number of ways to handle this already suggested, from the simplest of changing a couple of label fields in the Server Names to add (RP) and (RP-PVP) on them up to creating separate RP and RP-PVP instances using your otherwise fantastic Focus System. In fact, if your instancing allows cross-server communication, then by simply introducing rp and rp-pvp instances you will have given us a marvelous tool, rather than take away a convenience that only helped us congregate in one place. Ignoring a target audience - no matter how niche - that has been more than loyal to your brand will only drive it away and while at the moment SWTOR may be the only Star Wars MMORPG out there, this doesn't mean that an important segment of the community can be simply ignored with impunity
  6. You could call it background flavor, immersion or for some people that actually want to roleplay that it could be a plot point. In very simple terms, yes. But it's not like I pay a full sub in SWTOR just to roleplay a UPS guy, which - if you'll notice - is why I say that these deliveries are made by droids. if someone wants to actually roleplay dropping a package off, or picking it up, I can accommodate. If not, they can simply claim they did so using the company above. What is the actual point? Essentially, the fact that it is a business set up in Nar Shaddaa. There are people in the server that might want to roleplay "Average Joes", not Jedi, Sith, commandos or bounty hunters, and they need a work for their characters other than bartender/dancer/bouncer. These player can - if they like - approach me, we sort out a couple of details and that's it. They have an immersive background work upon with to build their roleplay. Or - and that is why I've linked an entire community site that deals with the underworld - people might want to roleplay using a legal cover to traffic illegal goods. Again, that's a starting point for more stories. Though, in the most basic form, if you contact me to deliver a shipment of Ice Ferns from you to player B, I'll just RP-charge you the delivery fee (no real credits inolved) and then roleplay the delivery It just adds immersion. That's all. Pretty much why people mod skyrim to include some seemingly useless stuff.
  7. Thank you for the suggestion! I posted it here since this is the "Roleplay" forum but I suppose a copy there doesn't hurt. Uh, no, this is not so that people can pay me in-game credits, This is a roleplay scenario for people that might want to get involved. As for the prices, the ones I mentioned are realistic enough, based on quite some research, lore and other sources I mean, realistically, you wouldn't pay 20,000 "euros" to deliver a parcel via courier, would you? I explain it all in some detail in the "OOC" spoiler.

  9. Just a friendly bump on this fantastic resource for all roleplayers of SWTOR. SWTOR-RP has most (if not all) that a roleplayer needs in order to get involved asap. Visit the place, check out your server's specific forums and have fun
  10. Some of us - when we pay a monthly subscription and a few more bucks on top of it - have the expectation that the most archaic of internet communication systems - chat - will work and we'd rather not have to resort to alternate communication methods (IM, Voice, Ventrilo or TS Servers) just to supplement a broken part of the game. If the above, for you sounds too much, or petulant and whiny, the solution is not for us to look for another game, as that would mean decreased revenue for the company. The solution is for you not to post in a thread where you have zero constructive information to add. Then again, why solve anything when we can just type two keys and start a troll-fest, right Internet?
  11. Plenty of threads around for this issue, where it has been more or less defined. Please check: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=739066 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=738165 [This one is also 6 pages long...] Any news on the matter would be welcome, considering this is ongoing for quite a long time now.
  12. It would be much appreciated if there was any kind of announcement regarding this issue. Ideally, we'd like to see a probable ETA for a fix. Needless to say, the inability to communicate forces a number of players to simply opt for other games, since there's not much point in playing a multiplayer in which you're forced to play alone due to a bug with the game's chat.
  13. Are there any news on this community crippling bug? Seriously, there are now enough threads and information around in several forums to replicate the bug. I find it very hard to believe that it cannot be fixed. Can we get any kind of reply please?
  14. In an attempt to keep this thread in the first page I'm posting to add that there is a thread in the CS forum, made by the people of Begeren describing the same problem.
