  1. I thought if it was a little bit bigger than Arathi Basin. Ilum would have been a BLAST!! Yeah talk about lag fest anytime a raid group tried to take over Ilum....
  2. If you scroll up a little bit you could see my post....but here you go. A capture the flag type game mode for RvR would be cool but honestly I'm pretty burnt out on the whole "Capture and Control a node" ideals. Do any games come to mind in particular as a good model for them to go off of? My only other MMO was WoW and I only played up to BC so I don't really have a good ideal for any RvR. Your ideal of Open World PvP is better than mine then...I'm simply off going what I know and I know WoW is the most succesfull MMO of all time to date, and is the only other MMO I've played besides SWG for a brief month or two. I can't compare it to DAoC because I've never played it.
  3. Well I played WoW up to end of BC/ Beginning of WOTLK. So I'm referring to a much different WoW experience then the one you are describing where you could go T Mill / SS or Xroads and wreak havoc and if you wanted to go find trouble and kill players you knew where to go and it was never that far away where as to SWTOR you have to search the map aimlessly till you start finding imperial guards guarding an outpost or whatever there is no signs of any kind and honestly if I wanted to go raise a little trouble I don't even think anyone would come (Due to low server pop) or I wouldn't even know really where to look in the first place and they're is no faction leader that you can kill or no incentive for that at least WoW encouraged people to do things like that.

  5. I miss World PvP, I hate to compare to WOW but they were great at making sure leveling areas were going to be largely populated by BOTH factions, and had many quests which lead the char into the same area for both sides, I chose to roll a PVP server for a reason instead of PVE but I feel the difference between a PVP and PVE server is abysmal, Why does it even matter if you hardly ever run into the opposing faction. If you are on a PVE server then you can still do your quest and not have to worry about dealing with the opposing faction but you can socialize take turns killing mobs or doing dailys etc... But give us people on PVP servers some World PVP. Isn't this a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME, Tell me then why I leveled my Sage from 1-50 there was no more than 2 people on a planet on any given time and this was on a standard server mind you.. I only encountered enemy players four times on my grind to 50. This is a HUGE issue for PVP servers IMO, This game feels like a single player game with a couple warzones and a chat area. (The fleet) I can't even tell you how many PVP encounters I had in the barrens, stv, etc and how much fun I had running around with my buddies ganking kids and then getting ganked and camped.... Sometimes we would do the ganking and sometimes you would be the one getting ganked! But God damnet it was exciting! I would literally stay up for HOURS running around noob areas killing them and the FP and then they would ask there guilds for help or log onto an alt to help and before you knew it you had 5/6 people chasing me and my buddy around and killing then we would gather some friends and it would escalate, it was fun it was exciting and it was competitive. Several Thoughts/Ideals to boost Open world pvp 1,They need to centralize the locations of Op's, Quests for both factions. Anyone remember running into an enemy guild at Karazhan and trying to kill them before they could summon more guild members or waiting till the rest of them showed up? 2. Incentive for World PvP With 1.2 coming out and valor being basically made useless along with Ilum being pointless. There is now even less incentive to want to pvp. Although I feel real PVPers do it for the sheer excitement and joy from killing an enemy player I feel so much more ****** killing another player and stalking a player or know that I need to keep an eye out during my quest because I might be getting stalked.... then killing S.O.A. once a week. World pvp is SO much more rewarding then WZ's and ruining a kids day by repeatedly camping his dead corpse till he logged, brought joy to my face as I would click away countless hours into the night, that game instilled emotion in me, I have never been laughing so hard, raging so hard, or trying so hard as I did when doing World PVP. This game feels boring and repetitive to me pretty much I have to PVP in four different maps and the game modes are boring and some are ridiculously favored to certain classes like Huttball, Icould literally play WSG all day everyday and have a blast doing so, whereas to SWTOR I have no preference to a particular WZ because they're all just "meh" WOW you had to pull me away from the screen or my mom would unplug our electricity because I would sneak on and play till the early hours of the morning on school nights when I was a kid... Now it may have been I got so much joy out of this game because I was alot younger but in this game I find myself logging out early all the time and kinda just standing around waiting for either a raid or a pvp que to pop because my server pop is so low... Anyways would like to hear your thought's/Ideals on what we can do to better the World PvP in our game.
  6. Dante " Where do you get your weed man " Mr. Cheazle " I get my weed from you Dante" No, but seriously we DO not win a 1v1 Fight with a Mara, Mara's are meant to be our bane, they are literally built to destroy us and if they aren't destroying you, your either the best sorc/sage on your server and I would like to see some pvp videos or play with really bad maras, On my server we have good mara's and sents and they faceroll anything except assasins give them trouble and a couple Juggs/Guardians. Op's however I agree with you but any class can kill an Op's if they don't get the opener and aren't stealthed.
  7. The only class I don't have trouble killing is the merc and honestly I can kill a merc usually in a high noon shoot out if gear is near the same and I pop my relic/adrenals while interrupting and stunning at the right time. Your right about it shouldn't happen to often in Wz's but this topic is about 1 on 1 fights and strategy for this and so far every post here has basically been like meh were more support type classes and its ok we can't win a one vs one and get facerolled by multiple AC's. I have tried many different specs 0/20/21 for instance and while my dps average is higher I can't kite as well without Sever Force and having the aoe knockback root is nice it's just not as effective. I run a full balanace spec I know telekenetics suck. and I have no problem being amongst the top if not the top in Dmg every game or healing if I spec into seer .
  8. Don't compare yourself to a Marauder or any kind of burst class. We simply aren't. We have control and support and if speced right quite the AOE pressure. What am I supposed to compare myself to then... A mercenary? A operative? are the only two classes I left out? And guess what both those classes have trees with the options for BURST DMG. I'm comparing myself to classes that I have trouble killing which is all the ones I mentioned above while they have little to no trouble killing me. Were talking about 1 on 1 fights here, keep that in mind. I can understand if every class has an opposite counter class that is meant to have a tough time against but when it's multiple melee AC's that are destroying me somethings wrong. There should be more versatility between the other two dps trees besides being a stationary caster with an extra dot or a more mobile caster with a snare and FIB. IMO they should take out the 31 point talent turbulence, It does mediocre burst even with the 100% crit you get from having weaken mind up and the DOT is laughable. Along with the fact its a channeled cast and can be interrupted rather easily. Our damage isn't bad, far from it. I can severely hurt people, while crippling them at the same time. Re read my first post. Our dmg isn't bad its sustained and our sustained dmg is not enough to outlast the burst dmg provided by other classes or the more tanky classes with there defensive CDS. Even with all our cc its still VERY difficult to survive a jugg/sin/mara let alone win that fight. As for having force issues, I strongly recommend to work on your spec. Hint: Lightning Effusion (Telekinetic Effusion). Specced into it...
  9. First off I'm a full BM Sage who IMO know's my class pretty well, with our multiple cc's and force sprint we have good mobility however the melee classes all have abilities to counter our kiting. I think it's far too difficult in this game to kite as a sage even with the full balance specced snare and the amount of burst the melee dps classes can do is ridiculous with the new expertise adjustment in 1.2. PVP is all about BURST damage and the Sage has next to none. The telekinetic tree offers you a little bit more burst but at the cost of having your main damage dealing attacks all be channeled so your a stationary caster you lose a lot of your utility and mobility and a snare for a little bit more mediocre burst damage and an 100% chance to crit with turbulence.... Even with all the CC we have with the full balance spec it's still not enough to keep any decent mara/jugg/sin from closing that gap and slicing through me like a knife through warm butter. Another issue with the balance tree is running out of force way to quickly I find myself near depleted quite frequently. The times when i'm actually left alone I use all my force to barely tickle either multiple opponents by dotting them or focusing one target and spamming tk throw after I apply Fib/Mindcrush/ Weaken mind/Sever force. And once your close to being out of force it doesn't regen nearly quick enough and I find myself multiple times in game hiding in a corner waiting for my meditate to pop up so I can let my force regen. I feel like the sage pre 1.2 I could roam a bit more be able to get out of sticky situations and heal up a bit I would still get beat by these classes but not so badly... but now I find myself getting focused and almost considered an easy kill by most classes if i'm not right next to a healer and even when I'm next to a healer im so damn squishy if two people hop on me I most likely won't be able to be healed through it for more than 30 seconds anyways. At the end of it we can't put out enough sustained damage to outlast these hardhitting burst dmg melee classes and their tanky AC counterparts.
  10. Not at all, I play on the Server Thendrys Noori and without looking up the exact ratio I would have to say its 2 imps to every 1 republic player possibly even a 3 to 1 ratio.. Anyways I'm in the biggest republic guild on the server and the majority of my guild's players who are decent at pvp and are well geared could give two ***** less about pvp they're much more PVE centered. .....anyways the imps play sith ball and now void star and denova against each other all day continuing the gear gap that bioware tried to narrow down with 1.2 there is never more than 25-35 people on the republic fleet at peak hours and I have never seen more than two Wz's going at any given time on our server... Oh yeah and the imps on our server actually care about pvp and since they can play each other all day many of them have reached War hero and Conqueror while I can most likely count on one hand how many players are of that valor rank on republic. (Yes I know valor rank doesn't determine skill) The one game that is usually going on is typically against the best of the imps and we repeatedly get face rolled by the same players everyday! It usually takes me two days to get my daily WZ done. It's bad though im talking 6-0 huttball on a consistent basis and the Imp's rolling us in Voidstar and reaching the database within several minutes of the game. I really feel like I would like pvp if it was a higher populated server....But it's not and when I do find myself logging on, I'm playing less and less every time.... It feels like the movie groundhog day! I hardly even touch my sage anymore and I really don't want to re roll on another server and have to make another char (I hate leveling) So I guess I'll take my free month try and get my daily/pvp weeklys done and hope for Server merge/ Free Char Xfer and or cross realm ques comes up by then otherwise I'm unsubbing.
  11. My consular is a Seer...So I heal to in pvp..... but anyways if they can manage to try and balance pvp by buffing stats for a 20+ level differential why do you think it would be any harder for the devs to do a ten lvl differential?
  12. I think cross server pvp for WZ's would at least be a step in the right direction for the 50's brackets, or possibly bracket it like WOW 10-19 20-29 etc etc You lessen the massive stat barrier differential between a lvl 45 player and a lvl 11 player. I want to pvp and I want to gear up,....but not by collecting armaments from a supply cache.....
  13. I hit fifty three days ago... I rolled a jedi consular on a standard pop east coast pvp server (Thendrys Noori)....I've have been playing this game non stop since I've gotten it and loved every minute of it...and then I hit 50. Then it's like *** am I supposed to do now...With the new bracketing system for the lvl 50's. I can't even find a WZ.... If I'm lucky enough I get into two of them a day and usually one of the two ends in a forfeit, if not both due to lack of players. So the 50's that had a week or two before the patch to grind pvp gear are just miles ahead..... from killing all the lowbies and now Bioware tell me how this is fair? Got kids running around ilum in full pvp gear and just absolutely destroying anyone who gets close to a node. Don't get me wrong I love pvp and ganking and I can accept being ganked but when I get three shotted by a sorceror... on Ilum and my only chance to obtain similar gear is to wait till I get enough centurion commendations from collecting bags and avoiding being ganked by these pre patch geared 50's....kinda sucks and don't tell me to run flashpoints my guild has the most 50's on the republic side on our server and we have around 11 now.... I have never seen more than 15 50's on at any given time. It's only been three days and I'm already bored of being 50!!! I have nothing to do. You just sent me on an action packed storyline and now you just expect me to run around Ilum collecting freaking armaments from supply crates and reapeating the same quests everyday? I'm just going to re roll I guess... see no point to logging on to my 50 besides doing the daily and showing up for raids.... I love this game from lvl 1-49.
