  1. Reroll shadow then if ops are so bad and shadows so good.

Funny thing that. My Shadow is much less aggravating to play. I tend to play it when I want a break from dragging people to their death on my Vanguard.

Yeah give you guys a gap closer! You really need one since you stealth up on someone and backstab the crap out of them knocking them down and spamming backstab. Give me a break with the gap closer crap your class is still OP just ask chillz on Vulkar Highway who devastates people using back stab. A gap closer yeah whatever!

Keyboard turning in place against an Ops doesn't mean they're spamming. I think you're confusing the Assassin/Shadow with the Ops/Sc either way anyway.

I still play my Ops though. Sometimes. When I've stopped laughing at dragging a Sorc back to my feet to bash his face in. And when I'm tired of playing a good stealther. And if I'm bored with Nuclear Dawn. I do know he's still specced healing at least, the last time I saw him anyway.

  2. You're contradicting yourself. Join other people killing random players. Suddenly it's a hard-fought game. YOU are the reason you're being farmed. Fight back. Again, strictly a l2p issue.

If it was intended as humor, then it's irrelevant. So, you've failed to address my analogy.

It's not contradicting. Alderaan 0 to 5 is a hard fought loss. Worrying that I'm not going to hit that extra medal as a tank because I want the e-cookie isn't. Again, if I'm worried about killing people, I can hop into Nuclear Dawn, Quake, the Serious Sam games, Team Fortress 2 and so on. If I want to play a game type based around objectives with friends, I'm stuck in WZs. So you keep worrying about your medals and I'll leave to find a game being played how I like. Besides, if you're losing 5-0 and being farmed, you won't even notice I'm gone and I lose what medals I'd already earned for tanking anyway. Funny how that works.

  3. More ad hominem. If you don't have something productive to add, don't say anything. This just tells me you're yet another plankton in a sea of whine.

Newsflash: MMO PvP is a mindless fragfest. It always has been. In every single MMO I've played, objectives have always been secondary unless it's ladder play. You're upset that you're losing, so instead of making the best of a situation you want the easy way out. I'm sorry, but I guarantee even if a surrender option were available, you'd rarely get enough votes to pass a surrender.

So you're willing to lessen your chances of survival because you're unable to compromise. I'm beginning to see why this is a pointless discussion.

Because.. I want the match to end rather than letting twits farm? I think I've hit closer to home than you want to admit.

Newsflash: Some people don't find it fun to lose in five minutes and be farmed for a further ten. I don't like to win in five minutes and farm for ten either. A hard fought game is a lot more enjoyable and rewarding than worrying about how special the medals make me feel or whether I need to do one game or two to buy the new carrot. A hard fought loss that went down to the wire is infinitely more fun than curbstomping the enemy team and it's unarguably more fun than being curbstomped, then farmed.

The last bit's a bit of dark humor, darker than you're implying by the way.

  4. Fred, Corruption Sorcerer | Clever, Seer Sage

    Something like that.

So... because I want the inevitable loss to be over rather than being farmed for 10 minutes because my team thought Huttball was TDM, I'm worried about the loss. That I'm willing to voluntarily take? If I'm a survivor on an island with 7 other people and I'm trying to build shelter while they're acting out Lord of the Flies, I'm just going to see how far I can swim to find another island. See, I'm not worried about the carrot on the stick. I'm playing a game with friends and we're trying to play to the WZ's objectives. If I want a mindless fragfest, I have plenty of other games for that.

  5. Luck has nothing to do with it. You're getting farmed because you're the weaker team. If losing really affects you that terribly that your experience is miserable, then maybe MMOs aren't for you.

But that hasn't stopped anyone else, I suppose.

Guys, I need to prove my superiority with my pebbles and lightning rather than winning. It's your fault for being randomly assigned to the enemy team.

It's not the loss, it's the pointless 10 minutes after the loss is inevitable. There's a reason I continue trying to run the ball even if we're 5 and 0 rather than dragging it out. Again, a surrender option would give you your win and would give me a chance at finding another team.

  6. Think books might suit you better just leave the gaming world.

I dislike farming in huttball, it's boring and I'd rather get back to something else. Farming or being farmed is tedious. Never enjoyed steamroller matches in FPS games either, barring comp games, but that's a different bag altogether.

  7. You are being farmed, because you/your team plays worse. l2p instead of crying.

And people like you wonder why players bail. A surrender option would be amazing in games like that. Nothing quite like being one of 2 people trying to chase a ball down while the rest of your team fights anywhere else. Games like that I'll keep leaving. And if they add a penalty for leaving, I have plenty of books I can read in the meantime with autorun turned on in a corner.

  8. He's not trolling, and he has a point. Let me put it more plainly because clearly everyone is rabid to get there "oh snap" remark in and feel smug.

When you're in cover in the game (I have both an agent and a warrior), you have defensive bonuses to all enemies in a frontal cone. If an enemy is outside of this cone, you do not have a defensive bonus against them. The OPs point is that this should be a consistent. If the "cover" doesn't wrap all the way around the player (and this isn't up for debate...cover DOESN'T wrap around), why should the bonuses wrap around (and they don't except with charge)?

I agree that snipers don't need any more nerfs, but with entrench and pulse a good sniper can keep a good warrior at range even with a charge landing. It happens everyday.

And then people learn how to actually use all of their abilities and ruin the Slinger's ability to do anything substantial. I also hear LoS is a hard counter to snipers. If this guy isn't trolling, he's probably the sort of person confused by basic things like zippers and door knobs.

  9. I think the problem with grav round and tracer missile isn't the damage output but that it can be spammed, especially with a trooper. All i see in PVP against commandos are "grav round, grav round, grav round, med scan, grav round, etc." This ability needs to be on a decent timed CD, its spammed far too much.

So is anyone going to point out that TM's damage output isn't that much higher than Charged Shot? The debuffs are they only reason they're using it, it lines up the other attacks. Here's an idea, break LoS or interrupt them.

If you're dying to a Merc/Commando spamming that skill and only that skill, you're a failure of a player. If you're actually paying attention you'll probably notice other skills in the rotation. Or you got out of LoS, then got up close and mugged him.

And for the FOTM callers? Let me know when you've stopped playing Sorc/Sage, I might need to tweak my vanguard's build a bit.

My only issue about the skill is that:

    1) As a Sentinel, my interrupt is melee range only and is the only one in the game that is melee only (Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior)

You're wrong. Riot Strike and the Powertech equivalent is melee only. I personally love seeing Arsenal mercs on my tank, but then again, I love seeing any ranged class that I can harpoon and introduce to my team.

  10. Here's my view on Operatives and where, in my uneducated opinion, I think the class should be.

First of all, I'm a sorcerer, healing specced, and I get owned by operatives. Not all the time but the ones in Champion gear are no contest. This is a class that gets healing, stealth and top of the line burst dps. Compare that to sage/sorc who also gets healing, utility (same as stealth), and they get diluted DoT based mediocre damage. The difference is one is ranged and that is a benefit over being melee.

So, in my view, since both classes have utility and heals, their dps should be very similar. To be honest, I think Sorc/Sage dps is fine the way it is, and while it is not great and can't be compared to classes like Snipers or Marauders, it is decent enough on a class that excels in utility. Operatives being almost a melee version of a sorcerer, should be brought in line a bit and have that incredible dps lowered, in Concealment especially. Hate me for saying that, but I look at having heals, even if not healer spec, on top of having the best utility ability in the game - stealth, on top of best burst damage, decent interrupts and stuns -- well, just a tad too much.

Speaking from personal experience, a single well geared Operative should not be able to solo 2 slightly lesser geared players, who also happen to be a haler and a tank combo. On Alderaan, my tank and I can hold off a group of 5-6 people for 30-45 seconds while waiting for reinforcements to arrive (unless a Scoundrel is there, but honestly I don't see them very often). In Huttball, both of us go down to a single Operative in what seems to be 10-15 seconds tops.

If they're taking 'slightly lesser geared duos', either you're exaggerating how lesser geared they are, or they're afk/keyboard turners/have no situational awareness/have special needs. Usually the only way we can kill healers and tanks paying attention is if I harpoon one of the two away from the other and we CC the other to keep him out of the fight while we gang up on the guy. Either that or tell your friend to stop pvping in Assault/Tactics equivalent on Sith and switch to the defensive tree with a shield instead of a generator.

  11. I knew I hit a very sore and accurate point when people huddling in fear about their OP advantages being taken away are making blind assumptions on what other people are playing in retaliation. ;)

I'm a Vanguard and I think nerfing Scoundrel/Ops would make them even less played than they are now. Seriously, stop wearing a dress, run around with a tank and see them cry bitter tears as they aren't able to hurt you or your tank. Group pvp in a team based setup > solo players with delusions of grandeur. By the way, did you see that video? The one I linked to from a 50 scoundrel? It's been posted a few other places too. I'm just curious because the video is actually quite interesting. It's subtitled though so it requires a bit of reading

  12. And I noticed he, a lvl 50 operative (1vs1 expert class) had PvP gear and was fighting a lvl 43 Sage - if he had not been able to DPS the Sage down under those circumstances, something would have been wrong.

Beat me to it. Yeah he did, it was just a demo thing. If I think about it, I'll get him to fraps some more stuff showing what happens when a tank is doing their job or something too. Vanguards make everything funnier

  13. So I'm just going to link this here too, I keep seeing myths/lies posted still.

So I have an idea. Roll around with a tank that knows what they're doing. Guard alone will force Scoundrels/Ops to rethink their targets. Harpoon, easily applied dots, stealth scanning/aoes and being fairly hard to kill all add to that. Most of the complaints here are the same ones I saw for Rogues in WoW and funny enough, Stealths in Nuclear Dawn, Covert Ops in Enemy Territory/Quake Wars, Spies in Team Fortress and so on. It reads sort of like, "Guys I have no situational awareness, no attention to detail, no reflexes to speak of, but it's obviously the other guy's fault.".

  14. yeah.. after that 8k dmg... they serverly drop off to 2-4k dmg per attack. about what i do on average from the start. I feel bad for them.. and that huge drop off.. why can't they just do 8k hits on ALL attacks.. it needs to be BURST the entire way yes? idiot

Do we have a screen shot, video, something? Because we have a video. That video that got posted earlier. You know that video people are referring you too? I'm just curious if you've seen the video yet.

  15. No kidding. Fastest class to kill me has been assassin. 2 global cooldowns (mauls) when I need FOUR to "stunlock" someone to death rofl, and my gear is GOOD.

Even funnier was him ranting off on the other AC of the Smuggler. The ones without stealth.

  16. The fact of the matter is no one likes unwinable or nearly unwinable situations. I'm fine with paper - rock - scissors. I'm fine with some classes beating other classes and then those classes beating others. My experience with lvl 50 operatives/scoundrels is.. There is no real counter. They can kill anyone and they can kill anyone in a relatively short amount of time. There is no hard counter.

Funny, my friend says all the time that he'll open up on someone and their teammates immediately pull him away and mug him. There must be some unknown corollary here. Quick, someone give me a grant to investigate this matter in group pvp.
