  1. I believe this to be the proper quote of Mr. Pope translated into binary in your signature. I'm sorry to post off subject, but I see this misquote far too often. 01000001 00100000 01101100 01101001 01110100 01110100 01101100 01100101 00100000 01101100 01100101 01100001 01110010 01101110 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01101001 01110011 00100000 01100001 00100000 01100100 01100001 01101110 01100111 01100101 01110010 01101111 01110101 01110011 00100000 01110100 01101000 01101001 01101110 01100111 00101110
  2. Gunslinger and Scoundrel are two completely different styles of play. Scoundrel is more of a melee dps style and limited ranged attacks with the option of switching to healing in group play (or healing your companions). After obtaining Scoundrel at lvl 10, you'll see very few similarities between the two advanced classes other than a few similar ranged skills.
  3. I promise to dress my newer, level 50 characters in recruit gear before taking them into warzones... if you promise to go back to school to continue your education in the english language before attempting to post in english ever again. Thank you, Odrahn P.S. English is not my primary language. However, I'm positive that the garbled mess you typed out wouldn't pass for english.
  4. And my i7 Extreme Edition 3960X 3.3GHz Six-Core is at fault also? My wife's i7 930 2.80Ghz processor doesn't seem to suffer, but it runs a HD 5770 and I built my machine with 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580x2 3GB Asus MARS II Edition (MARS II/2DIS/3GD5). I think the majority of low fps experiences in heavily populated pvp areas and fleet could possibly be caused by GPU driver compatibilty issues. It may be the engine, but I'm not a much of a programmer. I did learn and use C+ and C++ to some extent in my business but have no practical experience coding gaming engines. I do have 16 years of experience building and testing computers and related hardware and software. This is why I believe many fps issues may be resolved through GPU driver support. Does Bioware work with GPU manufacturers to develop updated GPU drivers? I don't know. I'd like to know though. Which is why Bioware should utilize a more communicative approach with it's customers on these and other issues.
  5. Other than a child who depends on their parents to make large purchases for them, any "average" individual able afford this game, monthly gamecard or subscription fees and broadband internet access should be able to budget and save to make a worthwhile computer purchase or upgrades to a current, modern computer. The secret here is to budget and save. Most individuals who claim to be unable to budget and save waste their money on frivolous purchases such as premium movie channels, junk food, alcoholic beverages, eating out rather than preparing their own meals and many other unwise purchases. This is often due to the most recent generation not being taught basic fundamentals in school and at home. I pay my 15 year old daughter minimum wage ($7.50/hr) while she works in my store 3 days a week at 8 hours each day during the summer and 4 hours each day on weekends during the school year. She has managed to save and purchase her own vehicle, desktop and laptop computers, a new saddle for her horse and has a substantial interest earning savings. I find it to be quite sad that people like you think others who work, budget, and save their hard earned wages to puchase an updated computer should have to deal with the issues players are having with this game simply because you are unwilling to do as they have done by using the common method of working, budgeting and saving. Do you really dislike others for this reason? It's a petty reason to be so resentful towards those with sweaty brows and calloused hands. Although, if you are willing and are an adult, there are adult education courses available at little to no cost through your local Department of Labor or higher learning facilties. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals you may have missed out on as a child. Your greatest asset to yourself is your own education.
  6. I made and earlier post expressing my concern with SWTOR and SLI support. The only acceptable fix I found was disabling my outboard monitors and one GPU. We seem to be in similar boats other than my issues weren't as extreme as yours.
  7. I get some nice discounts on my parts, so I went for the 3960X to see what it was capable of doing. You can save a lot of money with an AMD unit. They give gamers on a budget more bang for the buck as they normally render graphics better than a comparably priced Intel. Intel Core i5-2400 3.1Ghz/3.4Ghz Quad Core sells for around $180 to $195 retail price. While the AMD FX-8120 8 Core 3.1Ghz/4.0Ghz sells for around $190 to $205 retail. The AMD costs a few dollars more, but when I benchmark them both the AMD leaves the Intel behind.
  8. Yes, because my wife's Dell should be able outperform my custom built, liquid cooled gaming system. Looking at the comparison below it's painfully obvious that my system can't handle the game. I own and operate a small business where I have been selling a certain brand of "factory built" computers as well as building and maintaining custom systems for many of my customers. I do know a little bit about them after 16 years in the business. If you'd bother to look at the systems people are posting they do indeed exceed the recommended system requirements, and many have stated that they have updated all software and tried different GPU drivers to make their system work with this game. How long must they pull out their hair in frustration before Bioware does their part? I say again, I'm not blaming the engine but I do blame Bioware for not providing more communication to their customers. I also believe they really need to consider following other game publisher's examples by working with GPU manufacturers to resolve whatever the issue is that's causing poor performance on so many different systems both "store bought" and custom built while playing this game. 9. The game runs great on a three year old rig? You've apparently upgraded the hardware within your tower or have a different definition of the word "great" from the whole of the english-speaking world. Also, you seem to be a "pseudo-expert" on disastrous grammar.
  10. And you are also missing out on the visual beauty of most newer games as a system with those components is unable to effectively render most newer game environments with graphic settings maxed while rendering smoothly and comfortably. My wife's XPS 9100 custom built machine doesn't come close to being able to render the crisp, clean, fluid graphics that my machine (custom built by me for the purpose of gaming with maxed graphics) does, as well as hers not maintaining high fps as mine does. My brain/eyes don't seem to need more than 30 fps or so while playing games to maintain a comfortable state of fluidity, depending on the speed of the animation as faster movement of an object or environment requires more fps to remain visually fluid, but I like to keep close to that number. I don't want to be dipping into the 5s and 10s in a huge fight or any point during game play. If you want to play a game while missing out on the wonderous environment the publisher intended for us to see you go right on ahead and do so. But do not imply that others should play that way simply because you're "fine" with it. It's similar to saying that you're "fine" with living in a shanty in a neighborhood of custom built, energy efficient, comfortable, beautiful homes and you don't see why others shouldn't be comfortable in doing so too. I'm aware of the concern that there seems to be an issue with this game and dual gpu machines. I will not deny it. Disconnecting my two outboard monitors and one gpu can net me 10 fps in an overcrowded area. This is effective in this game and makes for a more pleasurable experience in Ilum and fleet having 30+ fps again but makes no difference in fps in underpopulated areas. My complaint is that I can play other games with more intense and stunning graphics and more players in one location while maintaining a constant 30+ fps with settings maxed. Disconnecting two of three monitors and one gpu actually lowers my fps in all other games that I play but helps in SW - Tor. Maybe, as I stated in an earlier post, Bioware should do as other game publishers do and work with gpu manufacturers to resolve this issue. I'm not blaming the engine for this issue. I lay the blame on Bioware. It's not the gamer's fault for wanting a newer machine that computes and processes information at a higher rate for a more enjoyable gaming experience. Bioware needs to make a greater effort by working with gpu manufacturers, and more importantly, their customers. There has not been a comfortable amount of communication on this issue. You see communications from the customers to Bioware on a daily basis, but you do not see much if any communication from Bioware to the customers on most issues. I own and operate a business and provide each and every customer with updates on my progress. This does take up precious time but is a necessary action to please and maintain my clientele. I don't understand how it can be an option to ignore for any business.
  11. Intel i7-980 LGA 1366 socket Asus Rampage IV Extreme LGA 2011 socket There's your fps drop while streaming or recording. Hammering a square peg into a round hole will cause issues. I expected him to be back after a few pages to explain or defend this obvious mobo/cpu mismatch typo. Good eye Sythedragon! Good eye!
  12. I run three Samsung 27" 350 Series LED. My mistake for not adding the 3x, but I edited the post to reflect. Thank you for pointing that out. I disconnected the two outside monitors, started my system and ran one card. This did bring my fps up by 10 as well as stepping down the resolution giving me another 4 or so. I don't think people should have to limit their view and overall experience by effectively downgrading their system to play one game while all the other games with better graphics run perfectly well with SLI and multiple monitors. And other game publishers work with card manufacturers to resolve these types of issues. Why not Bioware? Guild Wars, Crisis 2, Battlefield 3, World of Warcraft, Rift, CoD Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 (with all graphics settings maxed, including any shadow options) have all performed far and beyond Star Wars: The Old Republic with it's settings maximized, minimized and all points between. There is an issue that needs to be solved by someone. I don't believe it's up to the players to solve this issue through any form other than constructive criticism of the game publisher and possibly graphics card manufacturers. I've noted my issues with this game to both Bioware and Nvidia. The only positive response about resolving the issue was from Nvidia. Bioware only sent a typical reply about lowering my game settings and updating my drivers.

And don't try to tell me my system doesn't EXCEED recommended specs. This is a custom built gaming rig. I've worked with drivers old and new, adjusted system settings, overclocked, underclocked, adjusted game settings... nothing has worked. This system normally runs around 40 fps in warzones and Ilum. Would you like to bring up the arguement of meeting the games recommended requirements again?
