  1. Old content is content you don't need to run. It's kind of like leaping to the forums claiming a class is OP because they went back and soloed Esseles. It's old content to your character. It doesn't have a point. It's not that big of a deal. Being a good soloer is a combination of personal skills, class specific skills, and gear. You took my challenge to go solo current content, but you are already listing gear as an issue. I'll give you an even easier one. Go put together a set of gear for your character that stuff that would drop off the boss would be an upgrade. You already still have a level advantage, but it should be closer. If you weren't overgearing the boss, would you still be able to kill it? I'd love to give it a shot, but my highest sage is only level 41 and my commando is only 33.
  2. Then the content was dated. Sorry. Going back to solo meaningless things for you isn't that big of a deal. The best comparison I can give you is looking at the WoW Death Knight. It collected some impressive solo kills of old content. Did it make it overpowered in progressive content? Nope, they actually were passed in favor of other tanks. Again, go solo current raid content on your sage and I'll stand up and say the class is OP (and it's my favorite class to play). Old content? It doesn't matter. Some classes just always will be better at it then others.
  3. That boss you soloed. Did he drop anything that you would actually equip and use?
  4. If you want to make a claim that they are the only class needed... then you really only need to make one additional video... possibly two. Make a video of you on your Sage, soloing an Operation. Not a world boss, an operation. Probably will need to speed up the video so people don't die of boredom in the length of time it would need to be. If that doesn't work, go make an Operations group of just Sages. One Sage tank (since they are better then Guardians and Vanguards) and some Sage healers and DPS. Post that video. So far, all you have shown is a video of a player soloing *dated* content, which quite frankly, is akin to a certain other game where the 'hero' class soloed raid bosses from the previous expansion. Did it make them OP? In certain situations, but it didn't change the fact that they still weren't wanted for main tanks in actual *current* hard content.
  5. Any chance you happen to have a link to this spec on Torhead? This was actually what I have been trying to play around with for my sage. So would love to see where I should be looking as a starter.
  6. I knew that STR basically did nothing, but when I was doing Google-Fu to try to find out the answer after not finding a Willpower shield generator in my 400 Artificers craft book... some of the links were just talking about use a Str one. Good to know about locations to find them as you level up... I would definately prefer using a Willpower one, just because it's point that are used rather then points that sit wasted...
  7. Anyone happen to know if you can reverse engineer grenades and if so, does it unlock better versions of them to use? So RE a level 20 green, it unlocks a level 20 blue version to craft... or is it just a craft and use and don't bother to RE?
  8. For the most part, are you basically supposed to use Guardian Str shield generators? I am not seeing in Artifice the ability to make them, but I guess there are a couple of drop schematics/drops, but if you don't get any of those... You just make do with a Str shield generator correct?
  9. I'd say it's less of a car without windows... Or you bought yourself a manual transmission when you really wanted an automatic.
  10. Thank you very much for the reply! This will give me a nice ground work to build on and learn from without nearly as much experimentation.
  11. I am looking to start up a little Shadow to see if I can actually play a melee DPS class (historically, only DPS I could sort of tolerate playing were ranged (in other games) but I actually am liking DPS here, so hoping maybe I'll like melee as well)... So... long story short... I have a max Cybertech and Artifice crafter. I have a spare set of Omenbringer in my vault. I was looking to basically craft the armor/mods/enhancements/hilts my little guy will need while leveling. I am primarily interested in PvP (most of my leveling will be there, except for breaks to do the story arcs). I'll be Kinetic. For the hilts and armor, should I just use Resolve (more willpower then endurance) pieces or the Force Wield (a bit more endurance then willpower)? For the enhancements and mods? Any suggestions on which ones I should run? Thanks for any help folks.
  12. Have you gone through and stacked any specific mods and enhancements into your gear? Or is it basically stock?
  13. Why? Even in those random scrub Warzones, I watch Sentinals explode too. The only classes that I really see that don't explode when trained are the tanks and good healers (that don't have people in the train locking them out).
  14. Dead DPS is a dead DPS whether it is a sage or scoundrel or sentinel. If a Sentinel gets trained, why is it going to last longer then a Sage?
  15. But that is kind of my point. Sub in any other DPS that gets trained and you are going to die just as fast. Why will a Gunslinger last longer? Sentinal? Lolspam Mercenary? etc.
