  1. Just so we're clear here, you're posting a complaint that the Devs/CMs aren't communicating enough (for you), in the very forums you're saying the Devs/CMs are ignoring. You don't think writing a direct email, or calling their offices would be a little more effective? Isn't it a similar comparison for you to say that you've posted on Facebook that your house is on fire, and you're really upset that the fire department hasn't responded, despite the fact that you haven't dialed 9-1-1? Hence: You're trolling for attention, as I commented earlier.
  2. You want to post drivel on how awful it is that the Devs and CMs aren't posting in here 24/7, that's fine. It's your nickel, spend it how you choose. That said, you've been an arrogant twit, and I responded in the best way to deflate someone of your ilk. I'm also a paying customer, so you can take your caps lock garbage and stick that while you're at it. The only change I would like to see is an regularly updated "Known Issues" thread, so people could go and check a single source to know that their particular issue(s) is/are recognized. At that point they should be able to figure out the problems are being worked on. Other than that, I'd rather just play the game and expect things will get fixed. That's the adult thing to do, which is something that obviously you're incapable of doing, or you're just bored and looking to troll.
  3. Yeah, your "point" is you want the devs in here holding your hand and blowing sunshine up your arse instead of spending time working on the bugs in the game. Even when the Devs post, or the CMs post, the threads usually degenerate into a poop-flinging contest. So my point remains, I can understand why maybe they don't spend a lot of time trying to reason with the unreasonable.
  4. Apparently you haven't perused the forums a whole lot. On any given day, the first 5-10 pages are filled with multiple threads covering very few topics, such as: Level Sync Sucks/Level Sync is Fine Companions are OP/Companions are Fine KotFE has RUINED SWTOR/KotFE is Fine THE BUGS ARE INTOLERABLE, I WANT MY SUB FEE REFUNDED/Lol chill dude The... well, I hope you're seeing the picture at this point. The short version is that these forums are like a soap opera. You can leave and come back in two weeks and you know what? You will not have missed much of anything.
  5. So you live indoors, have internet access, and electricity, but you can't find $20 a month? I can see letting a sub drop if you're not going to play because real life is going to be crazy-busy. It happens. But you don't see the reasons why letting a sub drop (paying for a product) would then lead to not having access to everything the game has to offer?
  6. Yeah, gonna call BS on that one. There are always a group of people on Fleet or in Gen Chat that seem to have nothing better to do than run their mouths (or in this case, their keyboards) and complain about something on a constant basis. To call the people that whine the most a majority is a mistake.
  7. Your complaints that companions are overpowered make this a black and white situation. BioWare has already given you the ability to make the game more satisfying. Get a Level 1 influence companion and leave it there.
  8. To quote Tonto, when answering the Lone Ranger when they were surrounded by 10,000 angry Apache warriors, and the Lone Ranger said, "We're in trouble now, Tonto"... "What's this 'we' s**t, paleface?" The companions don't need to be "fixed" just because YOU think they are overpowered. You don't like powerful companions? Don't level them up with gifts and mission rewards in the form of influence bonuses. Use a simple companion with minimal influence. That's not hard, really. I have access to over TWENTY at this point in the game, and I haven't gotten my original five back yet. Do companions unbalance PvP? No. Do companions unbalance Operations? No. Do companions unbalance hard mode Flashpoints? No. So, anyone that feels that companions are overpowered... what's it to you? I mean that in all seriousness. Why does someone else enjoying the game they are playing affect you in such a negative way? All the other things that could be done to improve gameplay, and people want to die taking the "companions are overpowered" hill? Really?
  9. Never said I opposed it. What I'm in opposition to is someone pitching a fit that things are "too easy" two days into an expansion, and suggesting a balance pass to make all things harder for everyone playing the game.
  10. Wow, thanks for completely missing the point. I get a little tired of people complaining that something is too hard or too easy, and then demand nerfs or difficulty increases within the first three days of new content. MMOs are probably misnamed. Sure, there are lots of different people on the servers at any given time, however 99% of an "MMO" is solo-based gaming. Flashpoints and Operations are the only real facets of the game that mandate multiple player participation. So if there are people that just like to come in, run their companion influence up to 250k and blow through mobs, then what's the problem with that? Oh right, the "elitists" that think there is something noble about being "skilled" (and I use that term loosely) at a computer game. Yeah, for lesser mortals things should be really hard, and not any fun. Like that will somehow motivate people to "up their game" to great new levels, instead of just wandering off and finding a game that's... you know.. "fun". So instead of asking for things to get tougher for everyone else, I would rather see these elitists figure out ways to challenge themselves. Not everyone can go out and get a new computer every year, with the hot new CPU and an insanely good graphics card. Not only that, but sometimes people just want to log into a game and put a beatdown on a bunch of pixellated enemies. It doesn't need to be a challenge. It just needs to be fun. If you don't like people with "lesser skills", then don't PUG. Seems like a simple solution.
  11. The expansion is two days old and you're already going to whinge that we need a balance pass? Seriously? You don't like Heroic Moment? Don't use it. You have complaints about people that don't know what to do in Flashpoints? Don't PUG 'em, get guildmates and knock them out that way. Companions are OP? Tough. How someone else plays the game shouldn't affect your enjoyment of it. I just so sorry that your epeen-eliteness is somehow negatively impacted by how others choose to play the game.
  12. Not bad, troll. "Victory"? Now that is a good laugh. You couldn't link to one thread with multiple pages of discussion on level sync prior to June 1st of this year, so it's not like you were in the vanguard of people begging that level-sync be added to the game. You're just a sad little fanboi/BioWare apologist that ended up supporting something BioWare has added to the game. Like I said, give things a couple of months to settle down, and then see how many people are against at least a toggle for level sync. But you enjoy riding in style with your Mom, little troll.
  13. If you're going to make a troll post to gloat about something you feel you are now - in hindsight - correct about supporting, at least have the decency to use proper grammar. As a point in fact, "we all" is sort of improper, because if there are two sides to an argument, that sort of precludes everyone being a part of that "we all" stuff. Level sync has been in the game for two days, and there are reported bugs as far as XP rewards already. Obviously it's not perfect, so how about we just give things a couple months, so the honeymoon period of the new expansion has a chance to fade, and people can take a more reflective look at the changes.
  14. You keep posting tripe like this in every thread about lost companions, like it's from God's lips to your ears. BioWare has NOT confirmed that old companions are lost, and in fact there have been several CM posts that people would have access to old companions for just general running around doing missions, just not the KotFE stuff. How about you knock off the alarmist bulls**t until we have a definitive answer?
  15. Okay, if this is the case, then there is ZERO incentive for me to play more alts in the KotFE storyline, especially my crafters. I can just as easily up the influence of my current companions to 250k, and do operations and get gear. I can get to level 65 doing old missions that now provide great XP. One of the biggest concerns voiced when the expac was announced was from people worried they would lose their old companions, with the various romances, etc. To block access to "old companions" - after publicly stating they would not - would be a massive error on BioWare's part.
  16. Same issue. Played for a couple of hours, shut the game down to eat dinner, and now it loads up fine until I hit the "play" button on the launcher. Then it just disappears out of Task Manager. Update: After 15 tries I got to the character load screen. THEN it crashed.
  17. Eric has already confirmed early access people get them on the 20th.
  18. I will do as Max suggested, check myself before I wreck myself. I'll check my mail, get all my free goodies. Log all my alts in to start the rest XP buildup. Send my crafters to Fleet to get the new crafting schematics. Check crafting mats to see what's there. Then, I'll set all my crafters a-crafting, and while that's happening, take a lvl 60 with a 6-piece set back to a lowbie world to check out level-sync. (I think it's a mistake, but apparently I'll have to live with it.) In short, nothing big during the first week of beta. Once they get things patched in time for the 27th, I'll look into this new storyline.
  19. Which is actually rather silly. They are patch notes. Unless the notes reveal some changes to the game that had not been discussed previously, anyone "complaining" about the expansion has had their chances to give opinions. The whole "Alliance" thing won't even be discovered/explained until tomorrow. BioWare should have just posted the patch notes in a locked thread.
  20. Yeah, it's not like they have had three or four months already to draw up a draft or two covering patch notes.
  21. May I suggest in the future you preview your posts and read them out loud before hitting submit? What exactly would a hypothetical "new player" miss out on? They start from level 1, go to 50, and they will have all 6 of the companions for that class. They can buy Treek, they can go to Section X and get HK-51. They can complete the Shadows of Revan planets, and then start Knights of the Fallen Empire. Heck, if they start after the new Cartel packs come out, they can get all-new combat only companions. And you know what? They won't be missing anything. In fact, when they start the Fallen Empire expansion part of the game, they can add new companions to fit their role-playing style. They won't miss anything, and you know why? All the companions are exactly the same when it comes to combat. They can be Healers, Tanks, or DPS. The only differences are the voices they have, and the original 8 can be sent on crafting/gathering missions. The new player misses nothing. In fact, said new player would probably be a lot more understanding about not having Nico available to them, what with Nico being a subscriber reward from several months prior to their starting to play the game.
  22. What color is the sky in your world? At best that statement is 50% correct. But with SWTOR, you subscribe to get "in game goodies" all the time - unlimited operations, war zones, and flashpoints as a few examples. But yes, one would subscribe to a game that only accepts subscriptions, which isn't SWTOR, since there's a F2P model in place. Yet in this case, someone may have subscribed just because it's the only way to get Nico, the guns, the duster, the speeder, early access... which may be the only reason(s) someone subbed or re-subbed. Otherwise, you can play the game for no extra charge. How is this valid again? If you're told that if you pay extra for public transportation, that "subscription" is going to come with perks. Early loading into a car, better seats on the transport, preferred exit, concierge stops closer to your destination - all of those are possible advantages to a subscriber that pays more for a service. The better seating, that you pay for three months before the seats become available, near the bus/train/subway, are available because you subscribed on the promise that you get to use those seats. Now, if your hypothetical "people" get the same comfy seats 4 blocks away at Starbucks, I would have no problem with that. But if those people were allowed to start using the seats I paid extra for, for months, just because they wanted to use them, I would have a problem with that. Especially if the company I was paying extra money to specifically stated that the rewards were for subscribers only. So, for you to call your statements 100% valid? Ah.... no. Now, several people posting in here have stated that they would have no problem if Nico became available six months or a year from launch of the expansion. I respect what they are saying, and honestly, in a year if Nico pops up on the Cartel Market, I would probably shrug it off as no big deal. But, after paying 3 months of subscriptions (no biggie, have been subbed since pre-launch) and reading a bunch of people already crying that they want Nico, want him real bad, it's IMPORTANT, he's ICONIC, was in the first mini-movie, WANT WANT WANT WHEN CAN WE GETS THE PRECIOUS!!! - I get a little ornery, considering I paid $45 or so for something that is still described as a subscriber reward. Even if you don't get Nico, there are currently eight companions available to all players, and there are going to be even MORE companions available in Cartel Packs. Having a whinge because Nico was and is a subscriber reward is really selfish.
  23. You're over-simplifying/misstating the issue, and using a false-equivalency with the seats analogy. BioWare announces the expansion, and then tosses out the "Subscriber Rewards Program" on the page. (It's still there, you can go look if you'd like.) Be a subscriber and get nice stuff. It's a classic hook to get people to pay now for the current game, while waiting (three months of payments) to get the expansion. "Subscribe by (date) and get..." So yes, some people may have subscribed just to get the rewards listed. That's fine. But if you're BioWare and you ask people to pay $45 for a companion, a set of guns, a coat, and a speeder, as "Subsciber Rewards", then you better not offer those things up later because the next time you ask for subscriptions to get rewards, people won't be as fast to jump on the offer, and instead may wait to get the "rewards" anyways. As far as the whole train station nonsense, the better example of what this thread is about is that you're paying a fee for public transportation, and that fee allows you to sit in nice comfy seats in the station. It would be a problem if people that didn't pay the same fee as you (for months) got to wander into the reserved area, toss a nickel into the fountain and then be allowed to sit in the comfy seats, instead of being forced to sit on benches. It would be especially annoying if the reason you started to pay a higher fee for public transport is because the Transportation Company stated specifically that the nice comfy seats would ONLY be available to the subscribers paying the higher fee - and you had paid the higher fee for three months before the new comfy seats were available.
  24. I hate it when people make arguments with horrific logic. How would I feel if F2P people got something that subscribers did not? You really asked that question? Well, I guess I would feel about $15 richer, because I could cancel my sub, get the free goodies, and then re-sub at a later time. It's not about how "special" a reward is. It's about how you get the reward in the first place. It's a quid pro quo situation. People paid subscriber fees on or before certain dates to get specific items. If people that don't meet the criteria can get a pre-release reward at a later time, just because they want that reward really really bad, what sense is there for any F2P people to change to subscribers? Just wait for the expansion, play and have fun, and in however many months pick up the stuff the schmoes that paid $15 a month to get as a "reward" have.
  25. I would suspect not. It was a subscriber reward, and honestly, I hope Nico does not become available as a Cartel Market purchase. I'm not trying to be cold, but the ramifications of something like that would have the potential for a significant negative impact on subscriptions with future expansions, and the inevitable "pre-order/subscriber rewards". Using Nico as an example, let's say he does become available in six months. Aside from all the whinge posts on the forum. it sets a precedent. So, 5.0 is coming along, and if you're a subscriber YOU CAN GET ALL THESE COOL PIXELS!! - and only if you're a subscriber, the ads say. Except, why should I spend $15 for 3-4 months, when I can just wait and 6 months after release of the expansion, and then go pick up the cool pixels from the Cartel Market for say... $10?
