  1. If you fully completed a romance with an original companion as well as had a fling with either Lana/Theron later, you should get mail sometime during the start of KOTFE giving you a sense of your status. For me I got one from Vector and one from Theron (yeah, tsk tsk, shame on me). Essentially, the game has made it clear that it knows I've been involved with both, and leaves it open for me to choose. You will get a warning if you truly choose to lock-in to a romance (which may then break up with the other).
  2. Spoilers ahead, based on my experiences... As far as I can tell from playing thing through a couple of times, when you enter the cantina and get the option speak to someone in private and choose the flirt option, it'll bring up anyone you have been flirting with (except Senya, who I think only has one flirt...), and you will be brought to a private conversation, provided they don't dislike you. By dislike, I mean a lot of disapprovals. This does not seem to be influence based, but is more about them actually liking your decisions. In other words, if you seriously piss off Koth but then tell him you want to make out, he'll probably say no. This also makes sense as all of the romance parts seem to be taking place during the story arc now. This then leads to the conversation to "lock-in" the romance with that person. People who have flirted a lot but aren't able to lock-in a romance may have high disapprovals - just a guess. The lock-in/warning also happens whether or not you were married before, as I've done this both ways now.
  3. This is true. And I believe it may force a break-up with your former relationship/spouse. It is basically a warning that if you continue to flirt, there will be consequences.
  4. I miss my romanced companion too (Vector). I am assuming he will come later, as will all romanced companions. Meanwhile... Why dangle these sorts of things in front of us if they won't reappear soon / in future chapters?
  5. I agree with just about 100% of this. Overall I'm pleased. I hit 65, but actually have not finished chapter 9 because I logged off after I refused to decide whether to lock in a romance. I'm going to call that a win on Bioware's part that they have made me feel that torn. At a couple of points I actually wouldn't have minded some slower pacing or more obvious stopping points, because today I was sleep deprived from playing longer than intended last night The story is well done and emotional, the companions are interesting, dialogue with them is well paced. My biggest gripes right now are that the combat is a bit too easy and I'm ready to have my married companion back. I feel curious about how things will continue to progress.
  6. I'm not sure if the notice appears for stuff before the expansion to be honest, I was only referring to what happens in new romance interactions.
  7. Thank goodness I found this thread and I'm not alone. I also logged out my agent because I couldn't "go all the way" with Theron if it truly meant breaking my sweet Vector's heart for good I was cool with a fling, even temporary companionship in his absence.... but I refuse to lock him out if that is really the case. .... Guess I will be patient ... *sigh*
  8. Yes, if you have previously married a companion, you will still be able to romance the new companions. However when you start a new romance you now get a warning flag "continuing will start a romance with _______" I am currently hoping someone will answer the question about whether multiple romances are possible or whether this locks you out of other options, including your past marriage/romances, who you may still be waiting to reunite with...
  9. Does anyone know if multiple romances are possible or does starting a romance now lock you out of flirting/starting a different romance? My agent and vector have a rather ...uh... open marriage we'll say It's been five years, I miss the guy, and now I'm being force-separated from him. Suddenly I get a warning that continuing to flirt with Theron will start a romance. I don't want to even continue down this path however if it'll lock Vector out....
  10. Seems like a pointless argument. I've played MMOs for years and enjoyed content and social aspects plenty, but I solidly count myself as one of the people who is thrilled that SWTOR is now focusing on story. My reason is that I feel this is one of the game's strengths and this is definitely a strength of Bioware, and I am happy to see them embrace it. A point came for me when I realized that was actually my strongest draw. It isn't just story so much though - it is characters. I care about the companions, the heroes, the villains. I have experienced similar things in other Bioware games actually, the Dragon Age series for instance. In fact, I played Witcher 3 and DA:I pretty close together and the final conclusion I could come to was that W3's stories truly did blow me away (I also found myself playing greyed out quests), however many of the character arcs in DA:I completely broke my heart or intrigued me. Either way - these elements can make me come back, even after I've gotten used to gameplay / style. Of course not everyone will feel the same. That is fine. Subjectivity is a thing. In my perfect world a game will have a great story AND progress well AND be fun to play, rewarding, etc...
  11. That would be one exciting expansion. "The story of express ship docking!" **separate exciting story for each class though.
  12. Well, call me nuts, but I will wait until something is actually out to make a judgment on whether I like it or not. Same with food, I try it before I decide whether or not I like it But right now, I'm pretty excited that this is the direction and concept for the expansion, and yeah, I'm grateful.
  13. There actually is a lot of music unique to each planet. Personally for me Alderaan always stands out and is my favorite - I always know when I'm on that planet just by the sound, even if I've gone AFK and hear it from another room. I know it isn't ambient everywhere, but personally I notice it a lot. There was a post here with tracks of music: http://www.swtor.com/fr/community/showthread.php?t=672508
  14. Mine is quite similar. I'm proud I had the foresight to make my female warrior pureblood sith so that I could repeatedly smack Quinn for disappointing me.
  15. Hear hear! Hands down best guy / man-bug-colony to romance, and I'll happily say that in direct contradiction to this thread's title! Let's compare: - Aric Jorgan: has issues expressing his feelings, but ultimately one of the better ones - Corso Riggs: jealousy and control issues, - Doc: constantly masks insecurities by puffing up his own ego and acting sleazy - Iresso: Honestly seems like a decent guy - my issue was feeling a lack of chemistry built - Torian: Another of the better ones, though young and comes with daddy issues - Quinn: Stiff, hesitant, questionable loyalty....fun romance to play, but ultimately full of issues - Andronikos: "reformed" bad boy - even if he grows attached, he puts himself first. - Vector: Diplomat by profession, strong communicator, poetic, supremely empathetic by nature and circumstance, never jealous, yet capable of mature love and romance. In the real world, it is the qualities Vector shows that I actually find most attractive and romantic.
  16. Hmm.... okay...... 1. I'm a female player, but SWTOR is the first game I've actually felt comfortable making male characters and sticking with them. 2. I think it is impossible for me to not hit the [Flirt] option, whether playing male or female. 3. When playing as a female smuggler, I have taken Corso out at times just to flirt with someone else in front of him on purpose. I guess I'd rather be amused than spare his feelings. 4. Nearly all of my characters have been neutral or light side. Except for my first character. She was psychotic. I have no idea why Imperial Intelligence hired her. 5. I honestly thought I would hate the romance with Vector (wha?? a bug man??), but he remains my favorite in the game - sweet, poetic, loyal and genuine. 6. I have so many alts now that I'm not sure I have a main character 7. Like many, my favorite story is the Imperial Agent. Part of that might be the really cool ship. 8. I get a bit sad when a character reaches the end of Chapter 3. 9. I usually play with my romance companion out - they tend to have high affection and do well. Guss Tuno is the exception. He wins the game.
  17. I think I second this. If I don't reunite with Vector I will feel quite sad. I need an update on my singing electrons. My "keep" runner up is Guss Tuno, because ..... he's a mean jedi.
  18. I understand that I might be in the minority (not sure, don't know if there is an accurate poll on this..), but I enjoyed my Quinn romance. I played my female warrior as mostly light-neutral, but as a strong woman and a lot of their conversations the progress of their relationship fit nicely. She's straightforward, he's a hesitant workaholic. That said though, on the bigger topic of romances for female players in the game, there is no doubt that we get the shaft in comparison. That's just the numbers. Sure, some of the romances are great - no complaints. But males get more options. Tharan really should have been fully romancable.... and there should have been an option to mute Holiday I think I was honestly more steamed about his cold shoulder than what happened with Quinn hah...
  19. Kinda funny how your like or dislike for a voice can change depending on how you make your character look and how you play them... Overall though, I think most all of the voices are well suited. My favorites are female agent (easily tops, and she's often switching accents for missions - always spot on), female inquisitor, female smuggler and both male/female warrior. The only voices that lull me to sleep are both male and female consular. Since it's the same class, I tend to wonder if it is just that class / story. Everything is maybe supposed to be said with calm and restraint? Often just comes off as boring instead of awesome to me.
  20. As some of said, post 50 the reactions just won't be there However in the main storylines under 50, what you can expect is really going to depend on your class and what companion you are romancing. Like someone else said, if you are a female agent with Vector, he will never show jealousy even if you are actually married. However, CORSO on the other hand..... hell... I purposely will switch out companions and make sure he is with me just to flirt in front of him. Because obviously I'm sadistic ... I don't think any character in the game is as romantically hot-headed as that guy.... At least it is entertaining!
  21. My trooper will properly mourn for an hour or so if she learns that the explosives expert Tanno Vik blew himself up in a horrible accident.
  22. Voss is my favorite. Pretty planet, neat questline.
  23. Harsh.... Though so far I'm feeling like the only major consensus is poor skadge gotta go, and no one messes with Blizz... My list: Trooper: Tanno Vik - maybe I'd like elsewhere, but we never bonded Smuggler: Akaavi - I like that she's a tough chick, but I kinda forgot she was there Knight: Rusk - Sorry buddy, the rest of my team is cooler than you Consular: Most boring group altogether .. I'd fry Holiday and keep romancing Tharan because at least he's not as boring as Iresso Bounty Hunter: Yeah... Skadge.. Warrior: Broonmark. But honestly only because I like all the others. Inquisitor: Ashara. Stop whining at me. Are you in this or what? Agent: None of them. Kaliyo is hot and cold with me at times, so it is probably good we bonded early heh
  24. I don't get how this article leads to the conclusion that there won't be class specific stories. This was the exact quote: "As MacLean put it, “We’re also going back to the original game and we’re evolving the eight base class stories so that leveling up takes a fraction of the time it once did, with an epic story guiding you the whole way." If that brings you to the conclusion that the eight stories will be evolved into one, so be it. But they could just as easily be evolved to branch out based on individual elements.
