I just love how these companies can post it as a selling point all over(http://www.swtor.com/gameupdates) to be exact. And not deliver. They want the money from people wanting the free one for subbing, but dont want us to actually have it in game yet, to boost sales in the store for it. LOTRO did the same thing to boost sales for ROI they posted an all new PVMP area was coming, then just never mentioned it again. After sales went up, and they didnt put out, they just ignored they ever said it. These are sleazy advertising gimmicks and we need to start standing up for ourselves. We dont HAVE to pay for this stuff. But if people continue to pay, the company just wins. I am floored at how much better this game is than other MMO's but since I have joined, its slowly going down hill, and getting pricier. Im not knit picking, I justifiably mad at being lied to, whether some feel its futile or as important to me, its lying and is unfair and illegal. If you bought a product off a shelf that said free pack of gum inside, and there was no gum, as small as gum is, you could still sue them. Just saying.
You're right. They always respond to each of my tickets within the hour, but since linking that page in my latest ticket it's been hours without a response. The last two were met with "We are unable to assist with name changes". My arguement beign of course, well you promised it for subbing.

This is not correct. On top of the species change which will cost 600 Cartel coins theese extra 792 Cartels coins will count in. So far for an existing character without the species unlock to change species to Cathar it is 1392 Cartel Coins to change, a little bit heftty, huh? Don't believe me? Look up my purchase history, have unlocked Cathar before and still was counted theese 792 Cartel coins for an existing character, that's just just over the top! I tried without the unlock of Cathar species before, 1392 Cartel Coins for just one Character.
I'm a supscriber, by the way.
Same troubles here. I've been trying to see if I can get the legacy unlock itself refunded, but of course CS says they can't refund claimed items. Which unfortunately makes sense. I have no extra character slots and don't plan on getting any unless they add a new class which isn't happening. I'll keep opening tickets I suppose.

I stupidly bought the legacy unlock before changing the one and only character I wanted to make a cathar, believing 600 of the 752 cc required to change my one character was for the unlock. Boy was I happy to see it still said 752 cc. So I spent 1352 coins for one cathar. I feel foolish.

Not quite sure what your point is to be honest. I mean - are there still raids to do, gear to acquire etc?
I was more-less kidding about EA's general nickle and diming.
Point was to tell you how to get the expansion without a credit card as you made that seem like the reason for not getting it.If you're now asking if it's worth it, then google it and determine that for yourself.
But since you're subbing, why would they remove things to do at 50? Obviously they add things but that doesn't remove from previous features.

So I'm looking to get back into the game after a long absence. However I am unlikely to have access to the new expansion for some time (living in a country where credit cards are rare and not issued to non-natives).
Is there still a fair bit to do at 50, or should I just not bother and level alts or something?

.Fun isn't free. At least not in an EA title.
You could get a visa/mastercard giftcard from the grocery store, or look around if they don't have them. Alternatively you can set up a paypal, and use your bank to transfer funds to it.
You could also get someone back home to buy a game card, and to give you the code.

Our server always had 10-49 pops start around 10am, and 50 pop around noon. For 10-49 this lasted until around 5-6am and for 50's it lasted until about 3-4. This has not been the case since 1.2...
Now, 50 pops start around 6-8pm and end at around 11pm-1am. As a 90% pvp player, this is unacceptable. I'm about to go play something f2p just so I can get my pvp fix.

(un)Dead servers chase more people away - I've no idea why people and companies buy into the myth it's better to have zombie servers than just less servers.
I don't understand how server merges would chase people away. I really don't understand how it would be worse than not even being able to play the game unless you schedule it around primetime every damn day.

Cross server pvp. Without this, the game is dead for many of us. I sit on a low pop server "afking" through the day with a few others waiting for pvp that never really happens.The same could probably be applied to pve, though that is far easier to come by.
If this isn't in the game by the time my free sub runs out, I will have no reason left to come back. In fact, as much as I love this game, the frustration has led me to jump ship immediately on may 15th.

My advice for you, sincerely (no more trolling, promise) is to go out and enjoy the beautiful day it most likely is wherever you are. Smell the fresh air and remember that you have more important things to put your energy towards than anger, especially empty and unfounded anger. Unless you want to be a Sith, then I suggest a job or priorities.

Just to be extra clear for the grumpy kid, you brought up 30 days and had guessed on when we would receive it. I was kind enough to clarify for you when we will actually get it as well as asserting the one day comp would be given at the same time.
What do parents feed their children these days anyways? Is BPA really that bad?

Gotta have'em. Period. My server is a ghost town. Small guilds are dying. People are unsubbing rather than condensing guilds. No one PvPs as Imperial because Republic is completely dominant. Come on BW, get a clue and get off your high horse. Server mergers before my free time runs out or my patience will run out.
I feel your frustration... Actually just this morning I submitted a ticket essentially begging for a transfer.
I have absolutely nothing but free time for the next month and it's being spent afking on fleet waiting for pops. being a pvper really sucks right about now for us.

And if you would have read the dev tracker you could read that there is no ETA on the compensation and that is why I am asking for clarification if sb got it already. And I am not asking for some uneducated guess or 'chances are'

If you would have just read the dev post a while back you would know we will get our free month on April 25th. Chances are the one day comes along with this.

Guys, I'm normally the first to whine about excessive down times, but c'mon... it's four hours and we need it. They have a lot of fixes rolling out that really just can't wait. The sound bug for example, while many will live with it as I was, I keep missing warzone pops on a low pop server because I have to re-log.
There are other issues being resolved... The only thing I am not looking forward to is "Warzone's will not start until both teams are full" - while its a great fix that makes sense, it means pvp pops went from starting around 2pm to 7pm. Then they die at 3am.

Passenger List is bugging out, by the way. You accept the quest, trek all the way to where the pods are, and you can't interact with them. Resetting the quest doesn't work, neither does relogging. I don't know yet if going ALL THE WAY BACK after abandoning it to pick it back up will work.
If I may say, way to test this crap before you release it onto live servers. Has BioWare learned NOTHING from Blizzard?
Click the small circle on the bottom of the pod. They work fine.

Honestly I'm glad they didn't release ranked WZs yet coz it'll probably screw up if they deployed it in 1.2, heck it's even screwing up now w/o it!

Servers come down after patches - it happens. It happened with Everquest, it happened with WoW, and it will happen here. I guess 13 years of mmo's have given me maturity and perspective. 10 years ago I would have posted in a rage also.
Im mentally challenged. Can anyone tell me when the expected time to be back up is for the eastern time zone of the United States please? I just cant wrap my head around it. Ive read something about April 14 when its still the 13th here for another 12 hours. I'm not normally this dumb, but right now im very very dumb.
Should be another 7 hours from now.

8 hours is this serious? Right through the day after the much vaunted 1.2 patch goes out after an announced 4 hours of down time this morning, after 1.2 was delayed so it could have more time on live for testing, after a number of people were unable to play because it patched a day early?
Can't the servers just be rolled back to 1.2 and then 1.2a and 1.2b dealt with under Tuesdays extended maintenace. I didn't see anything in 1.2a that was vital to the game.
You forgot to mention that a large and highly anticipated feature was cut about five hours before it's release because they weren't "comfortable" with it's quality...
