  1. Am I only one who noticed that: 1) James Ohlen never blinks. NEVER. 2) Gameplay footage still with high q textures.
  2. Potential is cool, but I do not give away money for potential. I've paid for a game with features that was advertised and entitled to it. As of right now what developers did - is stripped me of that features, did very poor job to optimize game for a fresh rig I've got (irony that I don't need it anymore - high q textures blocked) and keep up smile on their faces like everythin is good. I just keep thinking about how market works: you pay for a product or service, you aware of it's quality due to advertising and presentation and completely sure that money is deserved. If promised quality not met you demand a refund (not possible in case of SWTOR) and say bye to service provider, no problems at all. Otherwise (this situation) I'd really like to piss on reputation of manufacturer so others will reconsider if you can trust these guys. Still not rage-quitting. I may aswell keep telling to everyone that this outrage is much above tolerable point in-game. It will increase amount of frustration of those who are not sure yet whenever they like this game or not (and will also lead to more pressure on developers)... and won't have any effect on those who already sure that they love that game. Yep, this is dirty tactic, call it "sabotage", but I don't care anymore since I've got cheated.
  3. Why not put up an ingame interface to gather information on which bugs most frustrating right now? A poll. Then you keep this poll results updated every week so everyone see that they are working on most desired fixes and i'll be okay with that. And I guess all will be happy with some information on what's in works and that it's important to majority. Yeah, maybe it's kind of unique approach for a big gamedev company, but it may dissipate some anger against BW/EA.
  4. Yay cool Ilum fix in 24 hours. But I don't care about pvp. So still no attention on my problems with this game.
  5. Yeah, I understand your frustration. Right now i'm light sided imp, and got purple crytals in both columni blasters. Bur rakata will have black-red and only black-red, that's sad.
  6. Lore-wise crystals should NOT have any restrictions with alignment at all... but we'll let it slide, rite?
  7. For me this is last thing i could tolerate. It started with uncustomizable and ugly (imo) UI. Alright, they need time to make it better and give some options to change scale and move parts. Around level 20 i've got mask and i could see my char's neck clip through it behind. All the time. Also cloak from chest piece was clipping through my butt. Kay, that's minor issues, they'll fix major ones and get to that eventually. Then finishing act 1 I've got to sit for 5 min staring how my companion and invincible quest target, that i already defeated, shooting each other. I've had to wait until comp's health reach zero so I could talk to mission target and twas around 5 min. Well happens, I'll just report it, and it's not like i will do this mission again anyway. Then on Alderaan several times half of my char's face did disappear during cutscenes. Huh, interesting glitch, but i can live with that. Off to Taris...you should already know what was happening on Taris (some claim it still happens). It was a little bit over the top, but they did release fix straight away, and it made situation a little bit better. Around Hoth i found that most of time background and sky were just plain black, and it showed me actual texture only if I'd hold my camera in one direction. Still not game breaking, but already hurts more. That's major ones (for me). There also were minor like UI bugs, pvp bugs, not clear tooltip description for skills, green goo all over character until you relog. I did find ways to fix them or avoid them myself. So level 50, finally. Epic quest. Except that i must pick light choice even though i was dark during my playthrough and don't really want to kill that Darth guy. Dammit, hope that's last time I have to break rules of character due to bug. (fat chance) I've finished main quest, w00t. Let's do dailies on Belsavis and Ilum. Yep, couple bugged and you can't either pick (Belsavis) or do it (Ilum)... Actually i miss alot of commendations there, but well, sh*t happens. And then comes hardcore pve. Black Talon - bugged trash packs before droid boss lock possibility to complete bonsu obj. Boarding Party - bugged jedi knight, he may respawn his healers every time you kill one, bugged last boss chest, no loot. False Emperor - bugged Jindo Krey, bugged conversation may not spawn HK47, due to design flaw i missed my columni chest from Malgus. Foundry - bugged HK47 core empower mechanic, bugged Revan lightning/Power of Force mechanic. Directive 7 - bugged with permament immunity Assassin Droid, bugged with permament immunity Mentor Core. Battle for Ilum... Oh wait, no bugs there. 1/6 HM flashpoints don't have any bugs, yay! And everyday i do 3-4 of HMs and must avoid all that to get any profit. So now you are telling me feature I heard of and saw, and that was promised, and that would smooth up my disappointment won't get into game? Why? Am i bad customer? What did I do to deserve such a treatment? Please, do tell, I'll do anything i can to make up for that so you, developers, won't hold any grudges and befriend me again.
  8. Also just thought about it Why you (developers) cast away hard work of designers and artists, that were drawing high res textures for this game? High res texture for boots you'll see once in 1-2 days in a cut-scene, and even at this rate - for 5 sec top. It's unfair that their credit to a game just being thrown away like this. I really wonder what's their opinion on "We won't show 10% of your work to anyone lol".
  9. First part is peripherals, second one achieved only by modifications to core. And yknow, changing core without developer comments (i mean engine developer) have never never never NEVER NEVER NEVER! NEVER! NEVER!!! NEVER!!!! been a good idea. Yeah, you may (or may not) get improvements in framefrate. And at same time **** up stability and, as i said, make it picky about hardware. Just because you did not develop it and did not consult with creator about "improvements" you are going to implement.
  10. And here we go to engine architecturing. Engine got core. It operates basic functions and how different parts of engine collaborate with each other. This is pure speculation, I don't have any facts, but what I believe is - they got engine 3 years ago. HE developer claims that since then they didn't contact for consultation. So TOR developers took what they got apart, threw away what they won't use, and then to enchance core BUT without touching integrity too harsh outsourced what they need in mysterious second "swtor.exe". And by magic (but not against logic) this solution isn't working well and very picky about what it likes. End of speculation.
  11. Thank you, Mark. At least someone share my opinion that as paying customer we are automaticly entitled to graphics we've seen in advertising. I'd sign under every word.
  12. Probably he can't unless he got a sli of two pretty good videocards. Forcing through software is always more resorceful than engine solution. Mipmap eats away around 40% more resources than using a high resolution textures. Also i posted 20 times picture of my character armor, and there is glowing details that appear only on high resolution during cutscenes. Mipmap won't create em, it may only enchance what 's already in. And i do care about small designed features of armor. Edit: oh wait, my bad. Better go and sleep sometime, accusing others of ignorance already...
  13. And even those idiots won't have any claims against BW because THEY did change game FILES, which is not a case to accuse developer company. Win-win for both sides.
  14. Or just let us force through ini, and ini only. Or any other means outside of game client. Modification of game files outside of client isn't restricted, but you can't change em and blame company that your videocard caught fire or blew up. Overclockers and enthusiasts will find about this ini feature anyway, others won't know - won't get hurt.
  15. Also it was first MMO to indtroduce form of "achievements", way before Blizzard did it. Shame that it was really popular only in US and community wasn't as big, as one fond of WoW. F2P now? Gotta check out what they've changed.
  16. Alright, your bets guiz? I think it's goin to be low/med/high option for cutscenes so you look same way everywhere and fidelity achieved.
  17. Is this for real or you are being sarcastic? Because imo that's overkill fro a game.
  18. Screw it, i'm not going to sit all night with disassembler just to get nothing or help with work that guys were paid to do and screwed up. Money paid - do your work, and hurry up.
  19. There is none because Blizzard never did advertise their game with gameplay footage with higher graphics than avalaible to customer, duh. It's not about being upset that graphics are bad at SWTOR. This thread and countless before were made because actual graphics maximum are nto even close to what were shown during beta/in advertising. You buy a car, it's all good, but one day paint starts dioxidising and falling apart. And then dealer and manufacturer both at once say "It's not an issue, that was intended".
  20. Yep, but let's fix issues with "med = best" first, and then nitpick how bad even high is.
  21. They do, and got some settings that doesn't present in ingame options, but you can't force high res textures through .ini changes. Or there is a magic word line for .ini that we aren't aware of. Dir Assets got packages, that should contain all res textures. Gotta be a way to crack em open.
