  1. Ok so ... http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/hyper-threading/hyper-threading-technology.html

Based on that, it is blatant false advertising then? In particular this statement: "Intel HT Technology is available on the Intel® Core™ processor family "

That should probably be more specific and blatantly say "i7 processors".

It doesn't even use the word "some".

    Quite disappointing from intel there.

It's actually pretty confusing. And really a very dumb thing to do by Intel imo. i3s and i7s have hyperthreading but i5's don't. But there are laptop i5s that have hyperthreading thus making it all more confusing.

  2. **update**

    I'll be buying

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157506

    And

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369

To start. If I can rub 35 fps in 16m then I'll wait for new r300 series.

If you're anywhere close to microcenter they have combo deals that would save ton of money you can put towards ram or video card.

  3. During the first few months of the game I and some others were able to cross from Imp area to Repub area in Nar Shadaa. Has anyone been able to do this recently? At work at the moment so can't test it but I'm going to try again tonight, hopefully I remember the way :D
  4. I'm surprised this thread has not been popped and applied given all the people leaving over the events of the last 60 days.

I'm not into long winded good byes, and in fact I said good bye a couple weeks ago. But since I'm logged in today to wrap up and close down my account.....

I'm leaving SWTOR not because of any specific feature, or lack of, or bug.... but rather because the way customers as a whole have been treated since early December is unprofessional and takes advantage of player good will.

This MMO has struggled since launch. It turned around nicely and accelerated on a positive track in 2013. But 2014 has been a complete disappointment. Your performance as a studio in 2013 set the bar for moving forward. 2014 looks very much like you have once again lost the recipe. And frankly the alleged 2015 roadmap does nothing to restore confidence that you actually are capable of keep this MMO out of the ditch.

I've given Bioware many breaks and overlooked things because I know MMO are complex software projects and things happen, and choices need to be made. I actually understand the rationale and complexities they have to grapple with. However, there is only so far you can abuse the good will of your customers before they say enough is enough. For myself, generally very tolerant of issues with MMOs, I'm done.

To those that think things are fine and are happy with the state of the game now, I wish you all the best and hopefully your feelings are not betrayed by events in 2015.

To those that have had enough, and are moving on, how about using this thread as your parting venue rather then spraying the forum with a flurry of individual good bye posts.

    Take care everyone.

I have just re-subbed after two years of absence but have recently had a Star Wars itch. I was a beta-tester and founder and played until just prior to the first server merge. I have to say that this is very surprising and disappointing. If the biggest SWTOR and Bioware white knight quit broken and disappointed then it probably does not bode well.

  5. Problem is you cannot do end game stuff with crafted gear. It used to be like that when LOTRO first launched but now its not like that anymore. If you want to do the end game 3 6 or 12 mans you need the new gear to do them.

I heard Radiance gating has been removed, maybe it's possible again?

  6. You'll be sad to hear that the Trolls no longer exist...no longer pop at night. They changed it around the time the changed the Old Forest into a series of belt stanchions.

Trollshaws without trolls? Wow that's just sad. I remember when Turbine nerfed the Old Forest. That was one of the reasons I quit (and the fact that MOM was nothing but a heaping pile of poorly disguised grind). The fun of the Old Forest was getting hopelessly lost while being chased by a bear and aggroing half the forest :D

  7. I played through the first 20 levels of Lotro and I didn't think it captured the atmosphere and feel of the movies at all. Overall I found the combat and story rather plain and boring. Swtor has done a much better in getting me immersed and interested in playing.

Of course it never captured the feel of the movies, LOTRO is based off the books.

And ya, LOTRO sold over a million, Turbine bragged about it as often as they could during release.

I was also in closed beta. Started out as a weekend stress tester then got invited to Beta 2. Can't really remember now but I think Meneldor was one of the closed beta servers. The one big thing I remember during closed beta was the sudden repair bill increase so close to release. Every heavy armor wearer were screaming murder at Turbine. And of course the dragons in Rivendell and giant spider in the Shire during end of beta. Good fun.

As far as LOTRO and SWTOR, LOTRO has SWTOR beat when it comes to environment and the feeling of being in the universe. You can read the books then get in the game and it so much like how the books describe the locations. The Shire specially is amazingly close to how I imagined it from the books. Add the changing weather, day and night cycles, and the nearly seamless world (you can run from the Shire to Rivendell without hitting a loading screen - did it first at lvl 17. Trying to avoid the trolls in Trollshaws at night is still one of the most exciting experiences I've had in an MMO) and you get an incredibly immersive world.

With SWTOR I felt like that for the first few days. But the more planets I visited the more it became obvious that everything was static. I think Alderaan was the planet that I first started to lose the the early feeling I had.
