  1. Making alacrity shorten time between ticks on dots would help Sorc/Sage out as well
  2. Check the crafting list in my signature, Marauder's have a nice selection
  3. The "It's a game, who cares?" argument doesn't hold much weight. Football's a game, but I don't think Super Bowl winners would be very happy if SB rings were available to anyone willing to purchase one. Nothing to do with elite minded, this is basic human pscyhology. Person A puts in X effort -> Rewarded prize Z Person B puts in <X effort -> Rewarded prize Z In the end, A is frustrated, and B is thrilled. And for the record, I'm not profiting from any of these schematics. I don't know a single 27 pattern on any of my characters. I can just look at things objectively.
  4. The dev response clearly indicates that they didn't intend to allow gearing up this easily. Once server/guild first kills are out of the way, the incentive for a large portion of the player base (Notice: I did not say all players and make a sweeping generalization) to continue raiding is to gear out their character and see the increased performance week after week. HM TFB has been out ~3 weeks now (Sept 26) and we're already at the point where players are completely BiS. This takes away one of the major incentives for raiding (Again, not the only incentive, but a large one). I do like the increased market competition to keep prices fair, but I don't like how quickly it makes content feel stale. After a certain period of time all content feels stale regardless, but removing a major reward for doing the content shortens that time period significantly.
  5. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't have any issue with anyone having it if they acquired it through downing the encounters that dropped the mod in the first place. It has nothing to do with being "elite". Loopholes (read as unintended features in this context) provide people easier ways of obtaining things that others had to put in a lot of effort for. This is a concept that applies to all aspects of life, not just TOR. Nobody likes to feel like their effort is wasted and be left with asking themselves "Why bother?"
  6. Again, my issue is not with the speed that players can gear up to a point that they can participate in raids. That process should be relatively quick. You can participate in raids with gear much lower quality than BiS. My only issue is the speed at which people can gear up to full BiS, even those that don't step foot into HM TFB.
  7. I'm actually arguing the opposite. I want crafters to be relevant. I think if someone puts in the countless hours raiding and wiping to learn a schematic, then it should be relevant. However, when someone learns the recipe once and then multiple people steal the recipe, then it starts to become less valuable.
  8. It shouldn't be this easy to be full BiS (Easy in this example means 3 weeks after a brand new tier of gear is released). I also don't follow how you imply others are denied a chance at a fair fight. Not giving in to the instant gratification crowd isn't excluding players. You do know the encounters are all tweaked to be doable in the previous tier of gear, right? People on the PTS were downing HM TFB encounters in a mix of campaign and rakata. The issue isn't with allowing players to gear up quickly enough to participate in raids. It's when players can obtain the best gear available for little to no effort, especially when that's made possible by the players that do put in a lot of effort.
  9. This is bad for two reasons: 1) People can gear up way too quickly without stepping foot into TFB 2) For the craters, it's disheartening to put the work into HM TFB and risk wasting BiS mods only to have someone take the easy way out and essentially "steal" your recipe Take a look at the crafting list in my signature to see how quickly people have learned multiple recipes.

  14. This. Again, this is a PVE balance issue. I understand the PVP concerns, but this isn't the thread to discuss it. PVP isn't a static environment, and sustained DPS isn't always as important as burst. Mobility, survivability, and cooldowns play a bigger role than the DPS you can sustain over a 5 minute period.
  15. I think you're ignoring the importance of the support abilities of the "pure" dps classes. I don't think anyone is having an issue grasping the concept of a hybrid tax. And if that's the route BW wants to go, that's fine. BUT make the hybrids within 5% like the stated goal. The source code is public. All combat related formulas have been data mined and modeled in the simulator, and it's available for anyone to view.
  16. See first post in this thread. Snipers at 2009 DPS and madness Sorc at 1781. That's almost 13% difference. And this is a PVE related balance issue, whether or not you beat/get beat by Sorcs in WZs doesn't have anything to do with it.
  17. Yes, I agree. But we are penalized, have you seen how squishy sorc are in pvp?
  18. I'll never understand the hatred towards simulations. Done correctly, they are a very great tool for getting the most out of your character.
  19. You're implying that there should be a hybrid tax. We can assume BW doesn't acknowledge that there should be one by their vague "within 5%" statement. If you're in the raid as a lightning/madness sorc, you're there to DPS. Not to pick up healing slack just because you have that ability in your spell book.
