  1. I haven't got to the story content yet (but feel underwhelmed by combat changes, a very EA move, straight from the marketing department) but being an optimist for a second.. maybe just maybe, they have done a lot more story that they'll drip feed in future patches. 2 hours for an expansion with all the hype is laughably bad. I'm not holding out hope but this sounds more like a patch at best in terms of content.
  2. Downloaded it and tested it for an hourand that was about as much as I can stomach. Ability pruning is not the way, ask Blizzard how well that was received, WoW refugees became a thing and Square Enix happily gobbled them up and FF14 now has more active subscribers than WoW. Hopefully the backlash on the forums will effect the direction they go in and they go back on some of the current ability prunes but from what I experienced I'm just going to go out and say it, older mmorpg fans will understand what i mean but in it's current implementation this is the NGE of SWTOR.
  3. I was deleting an old character for it's name, sending mail to a dif character of the stuff I wanted to keep over (my fault for not using legacy storage really) anyway after deleting the character, I clicked return to sender on my stuff. My experience with mail issues in the past is that you wait 30 days for it to default return to you but does this apply to deleted characters too?
  4. I have the Sith counterparts to both at max level and both are great choices imho. My biggest gripe with Shadow is that I only like 1 of their DPS specs while Sent has fantastic choices for all three which are varied and fun. If I could only pick one though, it would be Shadow simply because of the tanking option. Once you get comfortable and get used to setting the pace, it can be frustrating at times being forced to go at another tank's pace. I also just absolutely love that one DPS spec that I do like and could play it all day and not get bored. Also personally, I really dislike Shadow's animations (that is Shadow specific btw, I love the Assassin ones) so out of those personal two, I'd go Sent for that reason alone, dual wielding always looks super cool.
  5. Doing a FP and having the best tactical for my spec drop yet lose the roll because a completely different class rolls for it. With the way things are all bind to legacy now, the comparison to FF14 and it's job system makes some sense. For those who don't know, basically the only people who can roll need for items are those who can use them. With the way things like tacticals are, this loot system makes so much more sense. It stops people being greedy too as you can't roll on an item if you already have it. This means those who can use the items get the ability to roll need while everyone else who can use it for their other jobs/alts have the option to roll greed.
  6. Hey if people that hat HuttBall don't want it they can just sub, But to those who love it and want to play it why not do both actually their is what 3 HuttBall Maps? give preferred players Unlimited original map play. Either way its a win/win to those who have spent some money for the game... free players can just keep the Arenas though. Or change preferred status to a $10 min to add HuttBall as a perk. imo Definitely worth an extra $5 to play HuttBall!!!! :)

Huh, I've been a sub for the last six months and I definitely don't want Hull Ball gone, I absolutely love it.

  7. Making a few new characters as I have a few weeks off work.. the beginner areas are literally filled gold farmers spamming messages every minute. The beginner areas used to be great, new players excited about playing one of the best Star Wars games made story wise. Now it's just silence, gold farmers and the odd guild recruitment. New players must think the community is really bad or something, going from gold spam of new areas to Barrens chat 2.0 that is DK chat. This problem is nowhere near as bad in other MMORPGs that I play or have played.
  8. The starter planets used to be decent. Never perfect but it was always a welcoming place for new players will a bunch of people like myself experienced enough with the game to answer the newbie questions. Now it's literally just gold spammers from my experience. How do new players feel about this? They start the game and just see chat blasted with gold spammers then go experience DK chat which for those of us who remember, is essentially Barrens chat 2.0
  9. Absolutely loved it. While I've read some Star Wars books, I've not read much on Qui-Gon and honestly, he comes across in this book as one of the most interesting Jedi around and rewatched Episode 1 after finishing it and could appreciate him in a completely different light. I remember looking at reviews though and people mentioned that he has actually been covered in the EU era extensively and I was wondering if anyone could give me some recommendations to check out?
  10. After getting each of these toons up to Tier 1 (light & dark sides) I went back and did the story (that I canceled out of earlier) briefing again.

This time, the light/dark conversation with keeper activated.

Dark Side = 'you were brutal' and light side = 'you were soft' exchanges.

Thanks for testing that out. I'll focus my Agent on going one way then. It's annoying with agents because I'd choose based upon what makes most sense for an Agent and usually I found it to be quite split in my choices.

  11. I don't know if there's a list of light/dark differences.

I know the Agent story diverges pretty dramatically based on one particular choice (which I won't spoil) at the end of a chapter. However, basically, it ends up at the same place, or really close to the same place.

I'm planning on replaying the Agent story again, what choice is this? If you could say without spoiling, I imagine it has to do with the twist and who you face at the end of chapter 1. Thanks for your other post, that's really handy knowing. I'll make sure to take professions which reward DS points.

  12. The assassins are definitely still there--whether they appear in your story just depends on which conversational choices you take when discussing how to lure Ashara into your trap. I've recently done the SI story twice and I've gone both routes (assassins and no assassins, I mean).

Yeah the holocron route just didn't feel very sith like for me. It was strange as I even got an ingame mail f rom the assassin master talking about the attack. Does anyone know lhow to ensure the assassins? Also apologies for the spoilers

  13. Kira is awesome and has the best sense of humor out of all the comps imo. She is also republic.

I rather enjoy the smugglers sarcasm ( and taunting poor Corso making him jealous).

I live for making Aric jealous flirting with Jonas and if you give him sass his responses are gold.

Among other pub characters for various reasons. Just depends on taste.

Kira is awesome but she also has one of the worst sayings in the game "feel my force" it sounds like the sort of thing I'd say to my friends as a teenager while simultaneously farting on them.

I think for me, it's just the main 1-50 story experience is better on Imperial side. JK while good feels like it's trying too hard to be heroic at times. Trooper while good is a bit stereotypical, Smuggler while good feels like one of the worst stories in the game which is more of a testament to the overall quality of the stories really. Consular has arguably the best story on republic side and one of the best in the game but combines that with the most dull personality for the consular himself. All the imperial stories on the other hand are great.. Warrior captures the feel of a ****** sith perfectly, Inq does a great job exploring Sith politics, BH and Imp Agents are arguably my favourite stories in the game, both capture their respective feel perfectly while simultaneously feeling Star Warsy.

  14. Crafted gear being BiS? Oh that's tugging on my SWG heartstrings.. too bad that sort of approach just doesn't work as well any more thanks to the way cash shops work in games like this. Those arguing semantics, see those goalposts? Don't you think they've been moved enough? I swear ya'll find a way to defend an "I Win" button if a developer offered such a purchase.
  15. Hmm. Well if you're level 26, you're far higher than you should be for DK and with the level scaling in effect these days, you shouldn't run into red missions, at least not for your class story. I would suggest you reset the missions in your log and have a go at them. Most non-planet, non-class missions are now classed as "Exploration" missions and won't show unless you enable them from the map, there's a button for it on the lower left part of your map. Try clicking that on and find some other DK missions you haven't done yet.

I have no missions in my log now, when I say red I meant being locked out of the class specific phases you go to do the main class story quest. I can't progress my character any further other than doing the other missions on DK because I haven't even got my ship yet.

  16. Not logged onto my Sorc in a good two years however went to check him out today and noticed I no longer had my main class story mission. He's only level 26 and still doing the Dromund Kaas stuff. Nothing in my mission log other than intro to Starfighter and the main story areas for Inquisitor in the Sith Sanctum are both appearing red for me so no way of just picking it up again. Does anyone know of a solution? I left a support ticket open so hopefully worst case scenario the GMs can sort it but I really hope I'm not going to have to scrap the character, I've got a fair few vanity items on it.
  17. Came back after a fairly lengthy absence and it seems like they've removed a fair few quests from the game or at the very least changed the requirements to starting them. I made a JK and some examples I can think of, the romanticly involved Padawans on Tython, the upset husband wanting his dancer wife back on Coruscant. The poor security woman outside the cantina trying to arrest someone also on Coruscant. And now Taris and the what I thought was the main story quest where you meet Suresh doesn't seem to be there any more too.. have they really removed a whole bunch of quests from the game or am I missing something somehow? I don't recall every having problems starting these quests in the past.
