  1. Everyone I was playing with have quit playing. I have no clue if they bought a one month or 6 month pass.

There are less people playing on the two servers I play on. Both PVP and both were high and had queue times for a time. Fleet numbers continue to dwindle especially on the pub side as pubs continue to roll imp.

Subs does not necessarily equate to playing population.

  2. I have criticized much about this game but Bolster is actually done pretty well.

The issue is that a lvl 10 player does not have his entire skill set at this level so you are lacking certain abilities. Low levels can dish out the damage maybe better than lvl 40 plus. You are just lacking utility.

I would prefer to see pvp broken down so that you go up against similarly skilled players but the population currently without cross server queues would not support this.

Keep in mind that some classes do not really start coming into their own until the upper levels. JK's come to mind. The ranged dps classes rule and this applies especially to lower level bolstered toons.

Just wait till you turn 50...........

  3. It is not about win loss ratios. It is only about wins. Once you hit BM you don't really care about valor it is about getting your 3 wins for the day. Staying in WZ that you feel is not going to win is a waste of time. So they leave and hope for a better outcome in the next one.

If you create harsh penalties for leaving people will stay and they will do things like pull their team mates into the pit, the fire the acid, Grab the ball and run the wrong way and a million other ways to grief you.

If people want to leave let them. They pay their 15 bucks to play they want, not to play the way you want them to.

Many times those leaving are replaced by better players and we have actually won a few games.

Why get so upset over something so silly.

  4. Your idea makes far too much sense. That would make for much more fun and competitive WZ's and we can't have that!

It would work great unless there was a huge disparity of healers on one side or the other. Not having healers in queue would hold up queue times.

Thus why faction balance is far more important than they think.

  5. Once the play base left all PVE advancement was abandoned and they focused on what remaining pvp players they had left...long slow death of a great game due to poor development...sorta like what is happening here. The things the players are happy with are being destroyed and things players could give a rats *** about are being put forward as amazing changes.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^'This!

  6. You could start by reading all the pvp forum threads. That will give you a good idea of what is wrong here and then you could advise your team to communicate with the community.

Obviously, BW is feeling the pain of ignoring us which has forced this move. Too little too late for me.

    Cancellations must be pretty high.

I would also read the PTS section where most people are not very happy with the pvp changes in 1.2 at all.

When you make pvp changes to classes a detailed explanation of why would be nice to see as we might be missing something from our perspective and then an explanation of why your change will fix the issue.

PVPers should have the same opportunity to make the same amount of coin and rewards as a pve player playing the same amount of game time.

Open world pvp and meangful rvr is needed.

Also the hacking and exploitation in the game needs to be addressed by BW on what is being done and how people might go about identifying it in game.

Too much CC, stuns, roots, knocks, etc. Didn't you learn this lesson in War? Resolve should be included in all types of crowd control.

  7. I played War for quite some time. The end game content was terrible. Zergy and a lag fest. So bad the most of us re rolled and played in the lower tiers where the pvp and rvr aspects were pretty fun.

The pvp and rvr was decent up to Tier 3 where things started to get bad. There were two and three hour assaults on keeps that were great fun. Sometimes the keeps would switch hands quickly but not always.

BW's were silly OP. Other classes were pretty fair. Unless you have absolute mirrors it is very tough to balance any game. I am not sure any game has the players convinced that all the classes are balanced because nobody likes to lose.

The loot mechanism for keep take overs was more or less botched like the RNG here. There was some calculation on damage/healing done and I think the healers made out like bandits. People were always complaining about the same people always getting the top piece of loot gear but you could easily compete with bought gear.

There was open world pvp all over the place.

The game had lag issues in places and like SWTOR far too many servers. Game Companies apparently have no clue how to handle the immediate in rush of new players at launch then create more and more servers and then the free month runs out and 1/2 the servers are next to dead.

What I liked about War was that a guild could claim a keep and pay to upgrade the defenses etc and the keep would fly your guilds banner while you held it. It was a great credit drain and they had tithing in the game to help pay for keep captures.

The CC was out of control as well. The game was known to most as stunhammer. Pocket healers and tanks were nearly impossible to deal with. A few tanks could hold the keep door for a long time.

Well organized groups would allow the doors to be broken down to let the attackers in to slaughter them as you really never knew just how many were in the keep. A couple of BW on the walls added in and it was pure destruction.

I don't recall exactly why I quit or when but i think it was when they tried an overhaul of most of the classes, similar to 1.2 here and most people just quit.

  8. It is a bug and this has been discussed before.

The person that is closest to gaining the next valor level will be the leader. It is not random.

Just because you are not the BW anointed leader of the Op does not mean you cannot lead. If the leader was not leading I would make a suggestion on what to do and most of the time people would follow. Sometimes the leader would agree and sometimes not but at least it got them to say something.

Many people would rather not lead.

They need to fix this and allow for a leader to relinquish the job if they do not want it.

  9. It is a hack. It is called Lag Switching. Look it up. This is done in most cases intentionally. This along with all the other hacks have been in the game for quite some time now.

This technique or hack has been used for a long time now in many other games as well.

The extent people go to hack a game when there is no death penalty is curious.

I never knew there were so many people lacking real world confidence that they have to come to an online game and cheat to feel better about themselves with their manufactured epeen.

  10. They upped the rewards for pve ops. That is in the patch notes.

How do they expect PVP players to make any money?

So now they are forcing PVP players to PVE.

The credit gains should be comparable for the time spent in a Warzone compared to an OP less repair costs.

You can't fix stupid folks. These people just don't get PVP. They should have just created a PVE game and left it at that.

  11. If the changes are in the PTS why the would they post anything in the PvP forums genius?

If you have pvp questions about the changes post them on PTS not in the PvP forums.

Most of the threads on the front page of the pvp forums right now are in regards to 1.2 WHICH IS ON PTS. Soo the devs are responding to PTS threads but not 1.2 threads in the PvP forums. Hmm somebody is doing it wrong I wonder who?

The devs are great at communicating. They posted ONCE in the PTS forum to thank a guild for their write up on their observations. Out of the 1000' of 1.2 posts they have replied to 1.

Amazing interaction and communication with the player base!

BTW that post had nothing to do with PVP and that person is probably a forum moderator facilitator and not someone responsible for coding the game.

The BW force is strong in you. Long live the Force.

  12. Why post here. Devs have never ever responded to anything here. Submit a ticket in game and complain.

I agree I do not believe that they thought that players would drop WZ's to avoid experience.

Experience should be awarded throughout the match not just at the end.

  13. This is why this game and all other MMO's will never be enough for us as consumers....

We will never see an MMO again that bends the rules, or that breaks new ground, or brings back the old school things we miss. WoW has unfortunately started a new paradigm of MMO's. It is how to make as much money as possible with putting in minimal effort. From a business stand point it's obviously perfect, spend less to make more. They will not listen to the player base on the whole shot if it doesn't coincide with the corporate side of things. If it will cost a ton of money to make new raids and new mobs and new gear, then chances are we won't see it.

The MMO genre has changed so drastically in the past 5 years. We have seen a vast number of them come and go in quick succession. If there was an MMO graveyard, it would be getting full by now. Everyone saw how big wow had become and wanted to get in on that gravy train. Unfortunately, they saturated the market with them and started to take off the luster of what was once an incredible experience. Many have tried and failed and it seems no one has learned from it. All these companies see the same business model that is wow now and said we can do that too. But the simple truth is, they can't.

When you are already an established giant in the genre, you can get away with putting out a crap product and ride on your name for a while. When you are new, you do not get the same luxury, hence why so many MMO's have sparked and burnt out in such a quick time frame. The companies have veered so far off what made this genre so awesome that I don't think they could make it awesome again, and us as consumers hope and pray and dream that the next new MMO will break the current mold, grow a pair, and bring back that breathless feeling of accomplishment, team, and that the reward matches the hard work put in, not exceeding on either side (i.e. too much loot for too little work or vice versa).

I am saddened by the truth of the matter, which is the MMO genre is a dying one. The onslaught of games that come out to try to suck on the proverbial teet have left a number of the players jaded and wanting more, but never getting it. It is this poor output that is changing the games themselves into fast burning money makers, and that is all. You can have all the blizzcons, guild summits and meetings of whatever kind you wish to call them, but the fact of the matter is, the new paradigm is here to stay and it's not going anywhere.

They must do something right over there at Blizzard. They have millions of subscribers and have for years. SWTOR or other games do not have to be the next WOW to survive. There are plenty of people not looking for a carrot and stick game. The next greatest game will come when Game makers stop recycling the same crop of lousy devs that have a record of fail instead of new ideas and success.

If Blizzard continually ignored what their players wanted they would have failed ages ago. Maybe Blizzard figured out that their player base is not 100 percent represented on their forums. I played WOW a lot longer than I played this game. I think I have played every other game longer than this one, save STO.

  14. I said in this FORUM. The PVP Forum.

Congrats they finally thanked someone for testing the game for them.

Now how about a discussion about the state of PVP with the devs and the people in the PVP forum? Is it too much to ask.

Please list for me all the times a DEV, not a moderator has posted in the PVP forum.

Apparently only positive comments are allowed on the forums now. God forbid that not all of us think 1.2 is the second comming of MMO patches.

It appears that I ruffled the feathers of a few of the BW cheerleading squad. Oh nooooes.

  15. Nerfing ticks off anyone playing those classes. Devs can't seem to tweak a little here or there they have to make huge freaking undocumented changes that of course require big hammers to fix instead of a few smaller tweaks here and there.
  16. I think unsubbing is the solution not a problem. BW created the mess the players should not be the ones to solve it. They could of course offer refunds to all those that didn't get what we told we would get with this wonderous new pvp and open world pvp system......right?
