  1. Yes, I know this topic is heavy in trolling and arguments, but, I'm really begging for an option to dual spec. I'm NOT talking about changing from, say, Sith Sorceror to Sith Assassin, just being able to have two Skill Trees (within same class) to change from. It's really ruining the game, for example, if one wants to play as one spec (say as a healer or tank) but dang near every day your guild needs you to re-spec to a DPS - it gets costly, it's a pain in the butt, (makes me angry), and just ruins the fun. And, sorry, but those who "don't" want this feature, I truly believe you're plain lying and just trolling - I can't imagine why it's such a big deal. Bioware, just add this and get it done with, please.
  2. Perfect, thanks, I think my questions are answered now BTW, I'll also confirm one of the above posts - in groups, you only get dark/light based upon YOUR decision, not the groups.
  3. I want to know more specifically what happens under the following conditions: I have 100% Dark Side, Level 5 I picked up Diplomacy and notice that each mission gives either Dark or Light points. Obviously, if I only do Dark missions, then I continue to stay with my current alignment. However, if I do any Light mission: 1. Do I lose any titles associated with Dark Levels? 2. Does my alignment bar move, does my Dark Level change? 3. Is there a separate pool of Light and Dark points? (ie are both listed on the summary on the Alignment bar?) 4. Does the alignment have to fully correct to neutral before generating Light levels? Just curious for the above and more - obviously for me to "experiment" could permanently change things that I might not want to change (only because I'm OCD like that, not RP'ing or anything.) Thanks.
  4. Exactly why the question is being posed to the community
  5. I would like to know the same thing. torhead.com and other sites have no info.
  6. I never understand why people think they just post something in a forum and then that's what happens in a game. You don't work for Bioware. And, seriously, if you don't want to use a LFD tool, then don't use it. It is NOT fun spamming LFG for a group; this is a game, it's meant to be fun. And sure, make it the whole damn community, this "oh, only on my server" BS is just that, BS elitism I think i know what's best for teh entire MMO world stoopid mentality. I'm just sick of seeing this lame discussion persisting, just give the gamers what they want to enjoy the game.
  7. Weird, you'd expect the opposite... but then I would have expected the opposite result from the change I made as well. I may try this too. Thanks. Otherwise, I just played 7 hours straight and can confirm that the experience is completely night vs. day after the above change.
  8. I hope this helps someone, and I hope Bioware looks into this so that a fix can be made/people helped. I'll make this short because I actually want to play this game instead of post in these stinky forums LOL I've posted in two threads about some problems I've had, here and here and honestly, I swear I was just about to give up, but then something hit me. My setup has three GPU's, two are in SLI and one is integrated - these work through Hybrid SLI (http://www.nvidia.com/object/hybrid_sli.html). I kept telling myself, "The way this game is performing, you'd think I was only using a crappy integrated GPU in a notebook computer. Well... it hit me to disable the integrated GPU in my BIOS and give it a shot -> this FIXED IT!!! Before, I was stuttering at ~25 FPS with evey single setting turned OFF I could find. Now, I'm running ~55 FPS with every setting turned ON. Don't ask me what's going on... I'm a doctor, not a computer scientist... but all I know is I never had this problem before in a game, and so me thinks Bioware needs to figure this out in case anyone else has the same problem. OK, now off to work on my Dark Side.
  9. Installed CPUID and played for 10-15 minutes and recorded all maximum temps: CPU 1: 59c CPU 2: 65c CPU 3: 65c CPU 4: 68c GPU 1: 65c GPU 2: 63c GPU 3: 69c Motherboard: 65c So, it's not an overheating issue. Monitored CPU activity (in resource monitor) - none of the cores got over 50% for any extended time. Monitored RAM activity (in resource monitor) - didn't seem to go over 50% for any extended period of time. I don't have any way to monitor any of the GPU activities. Yet - average FPS was ~35 and jittery all the dang time with the audio all crackly. I give up for today.
  10. I tried resolutions of 1280x800 and 800x600 and there really isn't much improvement in performance (as measured by FPS and noticing graphical and audio stuttering while moving around). There is not a single application installed on this computer except Windows, drivers (all the latest) and this game [after re-formatting the entire computer *hoping* it would fix this problem] There is something wrong with this game and I just can't be convinced otherwise. You just can't tell me that being able to play multiple other MMO games at high settings without any (or minimal) problems (at 1920x1200) and then not being able to play this game in a decent fasion at 800x600 with every single setting turned off is "Normal"...
  11. I've seen something like this recommended before: Just not an acceptable solution. The PC I'm using was like $3000 just a year and a half ago. I am well above the "minimum specs" and can run a ton of other games at high/ultra settings. I have no problems dropping a bunch of money and get another PC, but I'm convinced there is something WRONG with this game and I like it enough that I'm willing to just wait since I read that they're "aware of problems" and "fixes are pending". I'm not the only person who's in the same situation. There are a ton of other posts on this issue in these forums. Anyway, so ya, I'll try a lower resolution this afternoon. Thanks. Looks like there are no other settings that can be changed...
  12. Is there a way to dial down the graphics settings EVEN FURTHER? In my war on poor SWTOR performance, I feel that if I could just get like 10% better performance, this game would/could be consistently playable. In the graphics tab (of preferences), I have every single setting turned off or on low. I have an NVIDIA graphics card, and in the control panel for that, I have the slider turned all the way down to "performance". I am still running at a resolution of 1920x1200 because this is the native resolution of my screen, but might see what it's like at a lower resolution today, like 1280x800 (<50% lower resolution) or something. MY QUESTION: is there any other ways to turn down graphics settings in this game? I recall in Beta, there were a bunch of other graphics settings in the preferences screen which are not shown in the release game.
  13. I'm probably just a complete and total idiot, but... is it me, or is there no link to search these forums?
  14. I don't know what to tell you cause my baseline has become "20-30"... ugghh
  15. I got the $1 charge too. Personally, I'm not worried, but I DO think this is a big deal: I didn't see this stated clearly and what about some poor chap with only $0.79 in their account (and they use their debit card) and then they overdraw costing them a $35 charge ---> and then they don't notice for like 10 days incurring further $10/day charges for a total of $135 before noticing. They then panic because their next paycheck is not for a week and so they go to the local Plasma infusion center to donate blood but find out they only get $60 per unit and so the guy lies and go to 3 different centers across the state in the same day (incurring further cost for gasoline/travel BTW) and in the last center the old sap goes into hypovolemic shock landing him in an inner city Emergency Department where this joe-schmoe is further accosted by brand spanking new medical residents who mis-diagnose the guy with some weird foreign disease (since he keeps muttering something about Twi-lek's and smugglers) and so he's given the wrong treatment and after spending a week in the ICU ($30,000/day) he eventually dies a horrible death leaving his next of kin with a substantial bill before EA then socks him with his monthly charge this time in January of 2012... which starts this cycle a-new.... I'm just sayin...
  16. It's hard for me to put into words, but I just find this different. It's the whole fact that you, as the avatar in the game, are making these decsions (good or evil) and somehow this seems much different than watching a movie. Also, there isn't a single thing I find bothersome in any of the SW movies: those are very benign in my opinion. The subjects for Sith/Dark side in this game, however, are a world of difference in my opinion (SUPER Fascinating... but actually quite evil when you think about some of them).
  17. OK, so I guess it isn't "just me"... Thanks I was feeling weird even admitting this sort of thing was tripping me out. It's one of those things that I never thought would go through my mind until those parent instinct things get turned on. Just weird.
  18. I'm just curious to hear other's thoughts. I'm loving the story associated with the Sith and playing out all the dark side responses. It's fascinating (or maybe I'm jacked in the head...) However... I've got a 6 yo girl who loves to watch me play games (and I get her to play some herself). It's weird for me to say this, but I ACTUALLY feel bad exposing her to me purposefully killing people, making obviously evil decisions, and such. Is it just me? I've actually considered re-rolling an Alliance character (and do full light side) ONLY because I have reservations as a dad. If anything, I BELIEVE the fact that someone even brings this up is a testament to how friggin awesome the story telling in this game is!
  19. I'm no expert, but I'm sure it's technically not feasible. But it sure would be AWESOME!
  20. I hope to God this plain is not necessary if/when this PITA of waiting 30-45 min in a queue ends sometime soon
  21. BTW, by "special", I don't mean waiting in queue for 6 hours to get back into game LOL
  22. Is there anything special at midnight ONLINE at launch? i.e. after the servers go back online. Just curious.
  23. This keeps getting brought up and NOTHING regarding this statement makes a bit of sense... whatsoever...
