  1. As a Jugg in PVP you can't have it all sorry.

Tanking + good dps is reserved for PTs atm but they'll be nerfed eventually.

Either commit to tanking or DPSing I don't see what's stoping people from doing this.

Respec is free so when I feel like tanking I go immortal and with a pocket healer I'm exactly that.

When I want totally different play style I go rage, it's fun as hell.

Veng... is awesome for PVE imo heh...

If you try to do some weird hybrid spec or put dps gear in soresu you are just half-assing everything and it will be reflected in your results and players will notice it and call you baddie.

On the other hand, in unranked WZs anything will 'work' I guess but I feel like people that still stubbornly play hybrids because they don't bother to learn a different play style ( and rage is VERY different style from Immortal of course) are deluding themselves in thinking their spec is 'viable' and they do 'ok' with it when in fact they just get carried in WZs for the most part.

To be more specific since your question was about gear only... No, don't put dps gear on a immortal Jugg, it has been tried and it's fail.

To me it's more of an issue of I want to be a dps, but I don't want to be just as squishy and hit just as hard as all other dps. I originally chose to play this class so I could have that feel and style. If I wanted to be super squishy I'd have picked a character that doesn't wear heavy armor (so to speak).

Yes my damage will be less than the pure's, yes my tanking will be less than the pure's, as long as it's functional and I get that "bulky melee who can still apply some sort of pressure" feel, that's all I want. If not I suppose the game still just might not suit my tastes and I may try and comeback in another year or to check out what will be new changes to see if I'm happy then. That being said of course I am going to finish the level up to 55 and obtain me a gear set just to make sure before I ever give in a quit again.

  2. I'm a returning player of the days when the hybrid spec was popular for pvp. I know hybrid spec is dead now, but I'm still want to obtain the "tanky yet don't totally hit a wet noodle" feel.

I'm not yet 55, but I'm planning on going immortal with the option of two different setups.

My first idea is just pure damage gear in the immortal spec.

My second idea was using all the +def mods and enhancements with the crit/surge secondary bonus while stacking strength. I'd use a shield generator followed by the shield relics, but outside of that not focusing on shield/absorb.

Are either of these viable or have the more durable dps setups we have completely died off?

  3. Perhaps you could help answer another question I have. If I pick up my JG and start playing him now...what is the average length of time it takes to get decently geared? If I remember correctly I have *some* epic tank pieces from the first epic PvP set.

I'm just trying to get a rough guess on the time it takes to re-gear up. For both PvE and PvP these days. From what I remember it didnt take me long at all back when I played but all queues for everything were instant. I'm also curious on how the gearing system works now, or has there been no change?

  4. First off, welcome back! Jung-Ma may be low a low population server, but we have one heck of a community. Secondly, you say your looking for an active guild to run ops, pvp, and roleplay with? Well, if that is the case, I would encourage you to check out Remnants of Hope. We participate in all playstyles, and have 20+ members online everyday during primetime. We run 4-6 ops every week, pvp on a daily basis with 'organized' PVP in the mix, and roleplay as well. We have dedicated Guild Departments for each aspect, so our members can truly experience all that TOR has to offer. We have been around since June 9, 2009, and have remained dedicated to SWTOR ever since. We offer a family-friendly environment, zero-drama tolerance policy, and have one ultimate goal.... to have fun within SWTOR.

I would encourage you to stop by our website, see for yourself if the Remnants of Hope is the right fit for you.

Whatever route you choose to take, I wish you best of luck in your travels. If you have any questions or concerns about the Remnants of Hope, feel free to send me a private message.

Hmm I still have a few hours it seems on my game updates. I'll toss you a message here and see if you get it before I can get in game. I see you have 20 members online at peak times. What about non-peak ours? I say this as I work in EMS. Sometimes it's slow at work and I can be on during the day...sometimes it's busy and I'm not on until 12am+ on work days. I understand not having people on in the guild 24/7 heck I'm not even on everyday myself.

I just have a very awkward gaming schedule time to time, and I don't want to be stuck with that time. Trying to entertain myself, and not finding people to play with. I love the idea you have of scheduled days to play, but someone such as myself won't always be able to make those sadly :3. I truly appreciate your response though! Sorry I couldn't pm you in game to ask these questions. I really love the sound of your guild too.

  5. I really wish all of you the best on Jung Ma! Lots of my best mmo memories and worst (Fuu Ilium or however it was spelled) were made on this server and this game. Rest assured I'll be keeping an eye out and if you guys catch a server merge or spike in population I'll be right back here in no time :3
  6. That's my main issue I have is waiting more than 30+ for FP's at max level. I don't always have hours and hours to play...some days I do, but some days I have enough time to get maybe 3-4 FP's to do and have to log for the night. Without a solid queue time I'm afraid I would get little to no investment out of my character. I enjoy RP and a great solid community as much as every other mature MMO player.

I can't seem to justify spending my 15$ a month to waddle around on my own doing dailies and never having any social atmosphere where on another server I could have my RP, and I could have my quick groups.

Nothing against this server at all by any reason! I'd L-O-V-E to stay here if I could find a reason to justify I get my time/money worth. RPvP is the best thing to help add realism in my opinion.

I've checked a bit in the guild recruitment forums, but it seems mostly empire related that are into FP's/Ops.

I love my RP, but I still want to get that experience of seeing all the content via FP/Ops etc. It just saddens me to think I may have to start a new, and lose the PvP aspect on a more populated RP server :(.

I'll wait around and see if I can get any input from Rep side, or log in and check the chats for someone to ask questions to before I make any final decisions though.

  7. After having not played much since March~ish. I'm coming back to this game. Now since this is going to be my dedicated MMO I'm looking into finding a permanent home (server).

Now I currently have a max level Jedi Guardian on Jung Ma. I know for certain my old guild has disbanded. So, he is currently homeless and without friends on this server :3. I'm torn between picking up here, or starting a new on Ebon Hawk. I'm looking to get into some flashpoints/heroics/raids the whole nine yards. I've "heard" this server is dead yadda yadda yadda over and over, but if there are still a few guilds around that could help me re-learn, re-gear, get back into RP etc. I'd love to stay.

I don't want to invest more and more time into my poor JG only to take ages to get groups, make friends who never seem to be online, never get to experience raids or content.

I remember this server having a good community and I hear it has only got better since then. Is there any guilds left that would offer a little "pick me up" to my guardian? I don't mind a low pop server, but on the same token. I don't want a server that takes me hours to get groups, find people to rp, wait for pvp queues, and just not have anyone online to ever socialize with. : \

  8. if you're spamming the slow i don't even know why anyone would want want to run. I'd just stand there and blast you.

If they wanted to run they can stun/mez/knockback more than you can jump/push/jump and I assume you're still slowing after jumps so again why would they even need to move they can just bubble and throw rocks at you.

No man, he is using his uncounterable aoe snare that roots targets, forces them to flee, has no counter in the game, 100% hits everyone, and makes it where swapping doors take 2mins+ in voidstar AND pulls the whole enemy team into one spot in Huttbal, thus making it OP. *rolls eyes*

  9. You are also assuming that my soft-cc slow is the only CC I have...

I don't give a frack what else you do. I know 110% that this tactic is stupid and will not work vs premades with half a brain, and pugs that listen. My premades are actually good. I'm not just claiming that... My friends really do play well. Most are in a healthy portion of BM gear which is decently rare of republics anyway. They are some talented individuals and just cannot fathom the possibility of them running herpy derpy through and aoe slow together never escaping it or managing to get IN RANGE of "Door B" in 45~seconds or so.

  10. Not getting slow'd is easier said than done, though, because any escapes you use burn cooldowns, while my slow burns no cooldowns.

For example, how many people can you tag within 9 seconds with, I dunno, your basic attack? This is a rough example of how easy it is.. but the slow is easier because you don't need to target anyone and it hits everyone in a radius around you. It's as simply as moving somewhat near you, using the ability, and then moving to more people to do it. Very easy to do.

So what good does slow do when everyone still winds up at "Door B" slowed, or not slowed? Whoop Whoop I snared their team GG we win? You have to plant the stupid bomb before my entire team of derpies waddles over to the door. While I am chewing arse in vent and my guildes for standing on top of everyone in a 5m radius and still waddle through the slow the whole way there. Which I could honestly say they would never do.

  11. I also have to point out that every 'solution' you have posted involve having 2+ people use CC's on the enemy tank. Just saying, seems silly to dedicate resources like that to stop 1 person.

I'm not even talking about "solving your snare issue" now. I'm through with ever proving my point to you on that. I left it by your terms. You being 100% un-CCable "god mode man spamming aoe snare" that SOMEHOW trapped my other guild healer and our gunslinger. SOMEHOW they as well were caught in the initial 5m AoE snare along with 4 others.

You will be cc'd or they will just you know... run away 5 meters from you/split directions? I'm not even worried about proving a point to CC you (which is still totally easy to do). I'm proving a point it still wouldn't matter worth a frack even doing it your way.

  12. As a ungeared sage (54 bags and barely any drops :|) I can keep battlemaster Tank/healer combos busy for longer than that. You -will- have to devote more people into killing me, which forces your team into a disadvantage.

Juggernauts/Guardians do this WAAAAAAY better than sages. And both can kill healers easily. :p

...I don't understand your post in reference to quoting me. Keep me busy? I'm guarding a door. I'm not going to mouth breathe and chase you down leaving my door open and my healer open...

  13. You are just making assumptions. I've actually tested this out plenty.

If you can tell me how you can break out of my slow, feel free. Just remember that my slow lasts for 9 seconds and can be endleslly spammed.. that although you can CC me, more than 2 CC's and I'm gonna hit a full resolve bar, and that doesnt take into consideration my own CC breaker. Don't forget that I can charge to you twice, with force charge being reset upon use of force push. Don't forget that I have my own defensive abilities, dodging and mitigating everything to pieces (invincible is 40% mitigation, saber ward is 25% to force/tech) and can't just "be killed" so fast to stop it. If those abilities keep me alive for even 20 seconds, that's long enough.

Dont forget my guildies are NOT going to be idiots and run next to you spamming this. Don't forget it's going to take you snaring 6 people for 45+seconds to even drop us to start capping a bomb on that door. Then time to click it and thats all without ever being poked from anyone.

I'm actually posting on my bro's account (chrome saved under his name). I'm Kurane on Jung'Ma come on over let's test this theory. Frack I want cross-realm pvp just to solve stupid issues like this that make me nerd rage.

  14. No, the enemy team will assume that I sent someone right , stealthed.

What you don't realize is that I WANT YOU TO SEND AS MANY PEOPLE POSSIBLE ON THE LEFT SIDE. once you dedicate anyone to defending the left side, while my whole team is there, we can CC you and then switch to the right side which is either undefended or defended by 1-2 people. Your team will be so crippled by this 1 slow that you won't be able to catch up to my team that is going to the opposite door.

MY guildies WILL get around you before your team drops me and my healer case an point.

It is just STUPID of me to think otherwise. My guildies are NOT mouth breathers, and will not herp derp with you in an AoE snare for 45 seconds and still NOT be in range of the next door. Just no frackin' way. I say 45 seconds estimated thats how long me and my healer will survive being trained by 4+ people all alone vs a premade group. vs derpies we can survive a frack ton longer 4v2 (prolly all day) and never die.

  15. What is your premade gonna do, defend the right side where there is no one trying to get the door? Unless you want to lose the left door you HAVE to have a large number to resist us. if I have my 8 people on the left and you only have 4-5 people on the left, then those people are going to quickly die to being out-numbered and they will then get locked up in the spawn point, and you're gonna lose the door.

The enemy doesn't even need to be stacked, I just need the enemy team to be close to the left door. I can use this slow as much as I please, so I can run between enemies and force charge back when I need to. 'Grouped Up' is a term I'd use loosely.

Will people die, yes! If you zerg it with 8 I generally tell the OPS group to all go over there. Chance of ever capping a bomb is slim to none. The point isn't some of them will die har har.

The point is to fight on the doors so you can't place a bomb. That's why I don't like Voidstar. Two real well played and equal geared teams can stalemate the first room fairly easily.

If they all run left you are wasting your time when a lone stealthy could have just planted the bomb without you needing to take credit for it with an AoE snare.

Edit: I tell them to go over there because I will stay on the opposite side with my guild healer and you guys can fight 6v8 (fairly even). No stealthy even two/three are going to ninja our door with me and my healer. I peel and guard him playing purely defensively it's not even remotely close to a "quick kill" on either of us.

  16. I guess.. but being a Warrior I know that trick too well and it wouldn't work for me. Killing someone in Voidstar only sets you back, though.

Herp derp how would that honestly "not work". It would and you alone could not stop me from doing that if you wanted. The point is it's not even a huge issue.

    My team isn't...

    A) All stupid enough to zerg defend ONE door.

    B) Not call "CC" out over vent

    C) See "A" to solve every issue with this in voidstar.

    D) My whole team wont run "on top" of me leaving me no where to run, no sage to pull me, or nobody to pass to. We aren't sand people we don't all ride single file.

  17. I suppose if you guys wish, you can disagree with me. I'm going to keep dominating Voidstar and Huttball with this skill though. If the community wishes not see how OP the skill truly is, I'll just continue on being OP with it. Perhaps I'll fraps a few matches, bundle them up in a vid, and see how many times I can utilize this strategy in one day to win Voidstar. I dunno what else it would take to prove to y'all.

Play against a premade that isn't idiots and stack 8 people on one side for one thing.

  18. Plus, sages/sorcs are prone to dying when getting focus fired.. unlike the guardian/jugg.

I can already tell there is no making a point with you. Our premade has ZERO trouble taking out Jugs doing this snare spam. Pull them away, CC, or knock them back and root them. It's really not hard to deal with at all. Nothing like you are trying to make it sound.

I play a JG as well and if you do this to me I will leap past you to that sprinting Sorc and snare him or AoE mez depending on the amount of targets. I only need to stall for ~10 seconds at the MOST and others will make it through the doors to stop caps on the control panels.

OR SHOCKINGLY RUN THROUGH THE OTHER DOOR!

  19. I don't see the big deal...

See a JG spamming this on your team grapple him away. He leaps back you knock back him. He is now stuck away from the group.

You can't perma snare Sorc/Sage unless they are really bad. After you waste that leap in the scenario you gave they will then knock you back. You are doomed to be kited then.

It works well and is extremely powerful in narrow places doors and tunnels Voidstar. Also a well timed Sorc/Sage AoE knock back can push the whole team away from the door the moment it blows and they can speed ahead with force speed.

It's just a niche they fill and it isn't really game breaking. You can't even really stop a ball runner over a fire pit in Huttball with it, unlike other snares lol.

  20. It's really not about making BM gear easier, it's about incentivizing pvp for people over rank 60. The dailies are our only method of progression, and those take an hour or two at the most.

After they're done... there's really not much reason to keep queuing. Warzone/Merc Comms are largely useless for us.

Unless you are going to end up like I am. Rank 57 valor and still need THREE PvP items! I've only spent cent tokens on my shield gen!

    I currently have

    champ implants

    champ saber

    champ legs

    champ gloves

    champ helm

    champ bracers

    champ relics

    cent shield gen

    Need- chest-boots-belt

Now everyone sees all that champ gear and they are like oh you can't complain you have all of that. No...just...no I've went from 20~ish valor-57 only able to afford 2 cent items shield gen/implant. It seems at this rate I'm going to be BM gearing and totally bypassed the cent set. I always assumed the cent set would be the starter PvP set with the champion set as a sort of "bonus" until you got 60.

    I have extras of

    x11 sabers

    x5+relics

    x5+implants

    x3helms

    x4legs

I can't even get my 4piece set bonus QQ

I want to at least refund some of this crap for maybe +1 cent token?

That way I get 2 tokens instead of 1 freaking token every useless bag!

Edit: I feel like I am grinding PvP gear now out of spite of the system and not for the fun of the experience anymore. Don't get me wrong... I have fun in PvP and I still enjoy it, but I feel so awful every time I open a bag with 1 token and a repeat. I'd much prefer a system that gave me a sense I was progressing my character "myself" instead of hoping my bags will either drop the items I need or not drop any at all so I can have 3 tokens. :(

  21. 1-implant

    1-ear piece

    1-chest

    2-helms

    10-sabers

I started at 10valor I am now 52 valor and still need belt/boots/chest/shieldgen

I can't wait until 60valor so I can finally get a friggin' 4 piece set bonus and finish off these missing items I haven't even been able to get enough coms to buy them in 42 levels...

I don't understand the point of cent gear really. I would have been better off just taking all the battlemaster bags and opening all of them at 60 valor imo.
