  1. More issues :

1 - If you take out parts from your battlemaster set to put them in orange stuff and equip those pieces, the set bonus isn't transfered.

=> you promised that it would be transfered.

Yep, I moved the components out of my champion/centurian gear into orange pieces, for specifically the chest, boots, and legs... and they no longer granted the second tier set bonus.

  2. The only times I've been tempted to leave due to losing (tempted, but resisted the urge) has been when I join a match where we're already losing, because someone else already quit and made that opening. That's really frustrating.

The leavers need to understand that they're hosing other people in the queue.

  3. Well, the gear gap is becoming less of an issue now that you can get Centurion about 5x faster than before. New 50's don't have to be fodder for quite as long.

But it's true, if you bracket it based on expertise alone, new 50's would be thrown in with people with PVE gear. It would be better to bracket it by the sum of the item levels, or some such.

The easiest for them to code would be Valor Rank, but that doesn't necessarily equate to actual gear, or skill for that matter.

  4. Actually I liked one of the other suggestions in the thread. 3 wins or 8 total matches. If they can have two separate completion conditions like that, then I'd be OK with that. I start getting frustrated when it starts taking 9+ matches to get my 3 wins. Sometimes you just have a bad day and your team doesn't do well.
  5. I don't use one for PVP, nor do I take Kinetic Ward. This quote explains it more accurately than I can:

That's an excellent quote, and sums up exactly why I dropped my shield in favor of a focus, and specced out of the Kinetic Ward. The DPS gain may be minimal, but it outshines the damage mitigation, and frustration of constantly re-upping KW.

  6. I love using the taunts, since it's practically free medals, and it also helps my team.

But I haven't noticed an easy way to tell who has taunted you. It would be nice if there were an obvious in-world way to see this (not puny icons near your quickbar).

  7. If you are going to cram these 5 capture point quests down my log every time I enter Ilum can you please remove them when I leave. Then again my quest log wouldn't be so full if I could actually delete all the gray ones.

I find this irritating too. I want to use my quest log for things like.. you know... actual quests. I hate having to drop these manually just because it's pushed me to the limit.

  8. And we get rid of tons of retardedness in the name of getting more medals. Water, lifetap spam and standing in flames. And then add more medals for actual healing. That is all.

Agreed. Healers should be able to get more medals, but it's stupid that self-healing from medpacs and the like count toward it.

  9. I hate to even really bring this up cause I love good healers as much as anyone else, and I don't want to see them not in PvP.

But its just sickeningly obvious especially in the 50 bracket that Healers are the alpha class in TOR PvP.

I realize that healers are dealing with a 30% healing reduction in PvP, but when I can double stun a Jedi Consular in a fire pit in Huttball and they can pop their bubble and heal through and somehow survive me, the fire and anything else and keep going, HPS in is heavily outweighing DPS out.

I'm noticing this too. It's amazing how much they can heal through. Not just the consulars, but any good healer. Sometimes they don't even fight back, and just heal through the incoming damage.

  10. No, NO and no. (Sigh). I think you missunderstood our class. BTW ? my friend is a sage, and I have no gripes about that. People should go with what they feel comfortable with playing. I chose Infiltrator - so that's just my play style and choice. Really silly of me to do that wasn't it ?

Hah, I missed that gripe about people playing Shadows. :)

Seriously, play what class you like, and don't moan about others doing the same. I play a Kinetic/Balance Shadow. I use Stealth to get into the fight, and occasionally to escape it. Beyond that, I'm going toe to toe.

  11. Not true.

They increased it, but made it applicable for everyone. A person can only be killed by one other (or group) once per 5 minutes.

    Say you have player A.

    A dies to Player B.

A respawns. Player C kills player A. Player C gets ZERO credit

This was to "fix" the valor farming but in fact made it the ONLY way to get your objectives now.

Seriously? I'm glad I gave up on Ilum already.

  12. The armament crates were not nerfed. It was the pve crates that are not in the pvp zone.

Are you sure about that? It's in the PVP section of the patch notes.

  13. So it'll be very difficult to get champion gear until valor 60 now? Or will champion bags drop champion commendations as well as centurion?

Champion bags will now drop a steady rate of Centurion AND Champion commendations, and rarely a Champion item token too. The focus is shifted to buying the champion items with the commendations, rather than relying on the rare tokens.

  14. Something I think SWTOR could use is more social activities, and incentives to participate in them. For instance, social-generated combat buffs, from interacting in cantinas and the like. This would generate an incentive to hang out in cantinas, to get a buff you could take with you out into the world.

Something that SWG did was to have semi-permanent wounds that you could accumulate, and they could be cured by hanging out in the cantinas with entertainers and dancers. I don't know how well this community would take to a "black-rot" creeping debuff like that, which is why I suggested an optional buff instead.

But a lot of the socialization that grew naturally in some of the older sandbox MMOs came from incentives of this sort.

  15. New 50's will accrue Centurion gear fairly quickly, and Champion gear much more slowly. But the RNG tokens for champion gear will still occasionally drop, but it'll now be a bonus rather than THE WAY to get Champion gear.

It speeds up the tier-1 gear for new 50's, and leaves tier-2 at a similar overall (but more predictable) pace. Tier-3 is unchanged.

  16. So they're reducing the gear gap. Has anyone found out EXACTLY how they're doing this? If they're just reducing the effect of expertise, but all else remains the same, wouldn't that do what they're saying?

Haven't a lot of folks been begging for expertise to be removed or reduced?

  17. Something I'm concerned about with regards to endgame crafting is the viability of it if you're not a hardcore raider (ops, whatever). BoP and BoE schematics and mats are great, if you're in a raiding guild. If you do PVP, or just stick to dailies/social/crafting without doing Operations or Hard Modes, are you to be left out in the cold? I certainly hope not.

Of course, making schematics and materials BoE instead of BoP helps, since that also becomes part of the economy. But if the schematic is BoE and the materials are BoP, then pure crafters are hosed.

  18. The amusing thing is that on my server, during the evening prime-time hours, Rep will control the center in Ilum and we'll get a lot of Rep vs Rep huttball. We'll still get to fight the Imps too, but when huttball comes up, it's usually Rep vs Rep. :)
