  1. Hey guys. I'm looking for a guild to casually do flashpoints and group quests with and a guild where I can learn the ins and outs of MMO's and such since I am still pretty new to all of this. I'm a Republic player on the Jedi Covenant server. Let me know if any of you have such a guild and are recruiting :)
  2. Hey guys! As I stated in the title this is my first MMO and I am looking to get really involved with this community and play with more and more people. Right now I am leveling a Jedi Shadow, currently level 11, on the Canderous Ordo server. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated and if anybody would like to play with my I go by LeCarpathian on that server.

    Thanks :D

  3. They rate the PSU needs over what is truly needed in case you buy a cheap 300 watt PSU that their selling as a 500 watt.

I would never build a system using over 75% of the true watts of the PSU using the TDP you should be fine with the CPU you picked and the 550 ti or a 6850 that i listed

cx 500 has 408 true watts look at the 12 volt rail amps and x 12

Thanks, man! I think my build is going to look like this now:

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 960t

    MoBo: ASRock 970 Extreme4 SLI/Crossfire AM3+

    GPU: HD Radeon 6850 1gig

    RAM: 8gig Corsair Vengeance

    PSU: 500W Corsair CX series

Harddrive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 7200RPM

  4. The CX series is what i think your looking at in the PSU it's not their best quality and AMD cards use less power. This would work well for your system. I actually have this card in my son's i3 2100 system draws about 11 more watts than the 550ti and better performance.

Thank you so much for your help!! I was able to find that card on tigerdirect for about ten dollars cheaper: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1368436&CatId=7005

So, basicaly, the AMD Phenom II X4 960T + the HD Radeon 6850 1gig would be a much better option than the AMD FX-4100 + EVGA GTX 550 TI 2gig?

  5.

I'm going to be using a corsair 500W PSU. Most of the ATI cards I looked at require a minimum of a 550W PSU :/. But thank you so much for your input! I think I am going to buy the first processor you linked :D

  6. Actually, the processor and graphics cards are the only parts I HAVEN'T gotten yet haha I was just planning on getting them within the next week or so. So any input on an alternative graphics card or processor is greatly welcomed. I was just told that the amd fx 4100 was one of the best out there for it's price.

Other than that, how does the rest of the build stack up? And what other processors/graphics cards with a similar performance would you guys recommend?

  7. Okay guys, I have made a few threads about my current project of building a new PC and have gotten alot of great feedback from all of you. Basically I have narrowed it down to what I am pretty sure that I want. All I am looking for is some opinions and which equipment to choose from.

I am currently between one of these three video cards:

    1- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...839&CatId=3669

    2- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...682&CatId=3669

    3- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...248&CatId=7005

The reason I don't go for the EVGA card right away is because I am trying to save some money :/ But is it worth the extra cash?

    Processor: AMD FX-4100

    Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131767

    PSU: 500W Corsair

    RAM: 8 GIG Corsair Vengeance

    Harddrive: 500gig Western Digital Black

  8. Personally, I would ditch the AMD processor and go with at least an i5, sure you'll pay more but it will last you a whole lot longer.

When I built my Core2Duo in 2006 a couple of people I know built AMD machines, they upgraded twice in the 5 years I was still using my Core2Duo and played the same games, on the same settings that they had to upgrade to get.

    Can't go wrong with Intel.

Yea, I have been told several times intel will last me alot longer. However, it comes down to cash and I am a broke college student -__-.

  10. So I'm between these three desktops right now. Which is the better buy?

    1: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5395891&CatId=4928

    2: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7007449&CatId=4928

    3:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5395892&CatId=4928

Would anybody be able to help me choose between one of these three? Which is the better buy or should I even buy one of these in the first place?

  11. Okay, so I'm looking to buy a new laptop very soon. I know next to nothing about computers so I'm going to need a little help picking one out .

    http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/a500/A505-S6005/

That is the laptop I currently have and I feel like I paid way too much for it. Also, the screen is completely cracked and it has been a real pain connecting it to my monitor and such.

So basically what I am looking for is a cost effective laptop with a decent graphics card so that I can game on it(I recently got SWTOR ). So if anybody can help me out here that would be fantastic.
