  1. But playing as every different color of human is awesome isnt it!?

I actually didn't notice it at first, but have to admit the racial choices are terrible, and going for the same models for both Horde and Alliance... err I mean Dumbledore's Army and Death Eaters only with tinges of evil or angels shooting out their garbage chute is rather lazy.

It's a difficult line to walk on but one of the negative points about this game is definately the racial choices. They are all practically the same, and Cyborgs... really? Come on, their own race? They are just humans with a little line of metal above their eyes.

I really hope we see some clear racial diversity, but I also want to play as the Voss :(

....and I still want to be a Hutt!

  2. Noone is demanding anythig, the OP says he is losing faith in Bioware, that is perfectly reasonable as they are failing to deliver atm, legacy should have been in at laucnh, not 4 months after.

It was one of their big selling points.

Also 2 question, why do you post in orange, its not cool or cute just annoying, and why the hell would i follow you on twitter?

I post in orange because I like the colour, and also, it allows me to see the last post I made easily while I skim through, to see who might have quoted me and why. Visual landmarks :) - Also I count in 3 posts of yours where you have demanded.

And alot of the people on this forum have begun following me on Twitter, and we have rather pleasant conversation, share jokes, humor and little chats here and there, so thats why people follow me on Twitter my misinformed little fraggle friend.

  3. But with this logic, they might as well close down the forum, because you know we use them for the reason they are here, to discuess what we like or dont like about the game.

But we arent entitled to that, so....

Discuss yes, demand, no. Demand implies you have a right to outright "demand" anything, without reason. Request however, implies you are willing to compromise.

The use of language is important, as demanding is what mobs do, requesting is what the civilized among us do.

If I had "demanded" a PlayStation for Christmas, I would have gotten a smacked arse and no dinner, and probably grounded, but if I had requested one, and politely explained the reasons why, as well as understanding if it wouldn't happen, then my parents were very willing to compromise, ending up giving me and my brother one to share.

Once you put down your signs and stop your demanding regime, join us up here in the VIP lounge, where the coffee is fresh, the manners flow like water, and we don't treat our fellow man like tied up dogs. K silly bears?

  4. We payed for original copy of the game (Digital deluxe in my case) so thats about $80. Also, we are paying $15 a month that's a total of $125 so far invested into this game.. some people even more if they got the CE. I believe we are entitled to content.. WE are the people paying BW/EA without us they have no income to keep the games running. And without proper content they lose customers.

No, you aren't entitled to anything. You paid for current content, nothing more. Everything you pay for is already ingame, anything in the future is bonus content. That's the end of the discussion, as no matter what you say, it won't change that fact.

  5. I would rather them wait as long as necessary to get it correct I just want some advanced official warning a few days or a week before they are rolling it out.

Played around 13 different MMo's, and not one has announced their patches more than 24 hours before it was released, mainly because they are literally being packaged and tweaked up to the line.

    Think of it this way:

Bioware: Ok guys, lets get the patch released by next Wednesday! Package it up, it's Friday now and I want to beat the traffic.

Developers: Right we have everything in from the patch notes, but I want to add this extra little thing, I can do it in that time frame can't I?

Other Developers: Ok we have 4 days to ensure we iron out as many bugs as possible from this patch too.

Basically if they give it a deadline, it's rushed, and not ready. If they bring it out when it's finished, it's much better for everyone.

    People still gonna whine though.

  6. I love this game.

I really do. Sometimes i get burnt out of it and have to stop playing for a day or two before getting back. But i love the lore, i'm a Star Wars nerd since i was a little kid and my mom bought me a New Hope VHS tape.

But reading this forum i feel like i should NOT like this game. People are so angry about so "many problems", about Bioware, about everything. But every time i log in the game i don't see many people complaining ingame. I see lots of trolls and people having fun, but not many people angry about all the problems.

And this is not the only game i see the same thing happening. Even World of Warcraft is dying according to their official forums. Every single game looks to be freaking filled with doom'n gloom.

Is this a common phenomenon in MMO Gaming ?

I agree that Bioware needs to work on many things in SWTOR but i just can't understand the hate.

Every mmo has a general forum filled with raging muppets. Luckily of the 3 MMo's I play, this one has the least amount of them, so I assume most are playing happily ingame.

Sadly when you give a child a hammer, he will hit things with it, in the same way you give a gongle banger a keyboard, they will use it as the only weapon they would ever have any kind of skill with.

  7. then EA should return our money until 1.2 come online.

Ok this thread just entered the realms of moronicy. Actually got an irl lol out me. You people are living on a different planet, and your views of the gaming industry are verging on the concerning. Man some of you are going to get slapped extra hard by reality when you finally go into the corporate world after your free ride through school, college and student loaniversity. :D

  8. Dude, seriously? Is it possible for me to post an informed opinion on a forum without catching flack and getting sucked into a pissing contest?

I respect your acknowledgement of their efforts. I appreciate that you aren't just raging blindly, but are staying informed and up to speed and that you are trying to inform other players of progress.

The point is that these problems have been around for a while and I don't think there is much excuse for any of them existing in the first place. It is a matter of too little, too late here. We are paying for a service. As paying clients, it is not our job to make excuses or show understanding toward sub par performance in a game that has been hyped for over 2 years. Let's leave at that.

Ohlen: SWTOR, for 2012, we want players to feel like they are getting their moneys worth. Huge changes additions, 1.2 coming next week (slipped, corrected himself).

    There you go :)

Also the pay to play argument is moot. You are paying for access to the servers, our money then gets funnelled into development. How they choose to spread and release that dev is up to them. With a tonne of new MMo's coming soon, their next few patches need to be ready and mind blowing, or people are going to wander, which is why they aren't rushing it, and good on them for doing so. I would rather play something thats working than something that needs a tonne of repatches just to get into a playable state.

No "pissing" contest here, you are simply upset and im trying my best to bring the words right from the horses mouth, as they come live, from PAX, right now.

We just need patience, which I have in reams, as I am, afterall, in Customer Support myself, and damn do you need it there.

  9. Thank you for posting that link, but no, that doesn't answer the question of when or even a ball-park delivery date. In fact, I just read through all of their well thought out answers, which range from "we're working on it" to "it's coming soon, we're still talking about it". Maybe Obama and Mitt can run on those slogans too. Love it. Peace.

The point is it's a high priority, which has a lot of purchase, as they mention things that are low or not even a thought. I expect once they get to grips with the patch, the next thing we are going to see is transfers. You need to realise these are small victories, but still victories non-the-less.

Oh and also following Stephen Reid on Twitter (the Community Manager for SWTOR) seems to have just revealed the release date of 1.2, at least vaguely, being very soon. Very soon in most MMO's is a 2 week period.

    Stephen Reid ‏ @Rockjaw

Did @JamesOhlen just drop a huge hint about when Game Update 1.2 will release during this panel? Yes, yes he did.

We've said 'very soon' all day to booth visitors. And that is true. :) PS - 'Soon' and 'very soon' are two different time periods.

  10. Q: Our server is currently low on the population rung. We''ve lost people, can we get transfered to another server? A: JO - Number one priority, coming soon. It's not as easy as it seems.

Confirmed by a friend sitting in the hall right now who got all excited when it came up. Theres your answer, so is this thread over now?

  11. Warning! Pic might contain spoiler for the Jedi Knight Storyline!

    http://i43.tinypic.com/1hwgf9.jpg

Just opening the thread to report it, however I would guess something this obvious is known and being worked on, but also to share a giggle at the same time.

In the Jedi Knight Hangar, while my companions are working away at the desk, it seems they are cloned on the ship! O_O!

  12. I love how most posters in this thread are accusing companies of making stuff up, completely disregarding the legalities behind false advertising (as well as the companies being open trading, so you can view pretty much everything they do financially as well concurrency if you have industry access to gamesindustry.biz) and then backing it up by making up their own figures and assumptions.

So far from this thread I have learned that some games companies may or may not have a random number of subscribers of whom may or may not be part of the games free trial, or not.

  13. when ever you see a post created by me stay out of it and keep your comments to yourself. You will be reported if i see you in any of my posts again for harrassment.

  14. You would think that a game set in a universe built upon the master/apprentice relationship would have included a mentor system. But as others have pointed out, when you design your game to be played by a single player and his or her gaggle of companions, a mentor system seems moot.

The system would be extremely useful for guilds--especially those that are high-level heavy. It would encourage players to come back to old planets and help out the new guys on the block. As it is, new players are discouraged from participating with players higher than them because of the reduced rewards (not to mention how silly it is to stand around while your helper mows everything down).

Why would you need a player mentor when the storyline gives everyone one, and as they progress, more to learn from?

Also ingame tutorials have taught me everything I needed to know, and my guild taught me the rest. The hints and tips pop ups are very informative in this game, I don't know why people would need a mentor system.

Alos to everyone saying CoH etc was the first, FFXI has a mentor system, and so did EQ2.

  15. They do count people in their free month though. I think their counting is different than that of blizzard's.

Free month players have to have laid down a subscription method of some kind, however they can cancel it in that time before the free month is up, and they also have to have bought the game too, so I think that's acceptable to be honest, as there is no threshold for how many months someone has been subbing for.

  16. What is only a slight inconvinience for you is magnified 8 times for me so have a bit of consideration.

Consideration for what? You get to reassign the talents that have been adjusted, removed, or redesigned, to stop you whining about having to pay for it which inevitably you will do.

I have less than 0 consideration for people like you, making mountain ranges out of molehills.

However you have to be trolling, as no one in this world can possibly be this derpy.

  17. as long as they can add more FREE weekends, then they can Pad their numbers a bit.......

    More forum derping.

A subscription is not a free user.

The figures are based on active subscribers, not trial accounts/free weekends, which started after the last figures were release.
