  1. I have a few questions based on the fact that I have purchased the unlock for Chiss. 1) I have discovered now that I am using the Appearance Designer that although I thought I unlocked Chiss for my ACCOUNT that it is only unlocked on the SERVER that I purchased it on. So in order to re-design one of my characters on a different server I have to pay the Species Change cost plus the Race Unlock cost. Why is Race Unlock not ACCOUNT wide. 2) Since the Unlock cost isn't included in the Species Change price, why when removing the cost of sliders does Species Change cost fully two thirds of the unlock cost or to put it another way, the cost of all the sliders again on top of just slider changes? Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind being charged for content. But paying more for a Species Change than to unlock the species? I ask you...
  2. Yes, the name is immediately available, the same is true if you delete a character. There is no 24 hour reservation or 30 day cool down like in some other MMO's.
  3. Are you kidding me? That's like building a 30 story building and saying "But no elevators."
  4. Panic not, my understanding is that the Character Change Kiosk in 2.1 (released next week) will let you change appearance, race, gender and name for Cartel Coins.
  5. /Signed. Fully agree. It would be nice to be able to immediately distinguish the type of mission you are about to be given and find the Heroic NPC if just in the area for Heroics. I wouldn't mind a different color for the main quest givers (like in a planetary chain) and just those that are side quests.
  6. I'd argue the problem is exacerbated by names that are currently sitting idle on unused level 1 characters. The player might have tried every proper name they wanted and after exhausting these possibilities, a gamer-tag was the only way they could come up with something unique. Plus they're only one word names. If the First Name + Legacy Name constituted a unique name there would be many more chances to pick a decent name as there are many more combinations available, but alas this is not the case. I do however agree with your premise, but not the practicality.
  7. As a player who has variants of character names because the actual name was taken in many instances by a character that a year later is still level 1 and probably belongs to inactive accounts or has not been used .... I'd like to make a request. Can Bioware/EA do a sweep of the database periodically and clear out all characters who have not graduated from their starter worlds and are more than 6 months old to free up names that us active players would like to have. Especially in light of the upcoming ability to change names.
  8. Nice, particularly the part about being able to teleport to a group member (I'd like this always but can deal with it just being in Heroics to start). I would argue that the Group Finder Heroic Run idea is flawed as if someone is time limited they may only be able to spare time for one or two heroics. Rather than planets in group finder, you could have the Heroics listed and tag the ones you want to do in exactly the same way as you do flashpoints. In fact the game could auto tag them as you get them so when you join group finder it automatically queues you for any / all that you have access too.
  9. As servers are merged together (admittedly it doesn't happen that often) one of the things that is in limited supply are character names since only a single word can be used. I am about to be bumped again to the US servers as the AP servers are closed. I'd like to suggest that when an account unlocks their legacy that the character name combined with the legacy name be considered for uniqueness rather than just the character name. This will free up a large pool of character names. There will still be only one Luke Skywalker, but there could then be a Luke Jones, a Luke Smith, Luka The'hutt etc...
  10. As you obtain Dark Side points and advance through the five levels of darkness you appearance changes. I'd like to suggest a slider that allows you to customize how much Dark Side Corruption is shown on your character, rather than an on/off toggle under Customize Appearance.
  11. Option 3 should be "Provide a character transfer service that is controlled by the account holder to move from any server to any server." For free or for Cartel Coins, I don't give a ****. But then people who want to move to US because of low PvP pop can, people who want to move toons from US to APAC for better pings can, people who don't want to move from APAC because they are happy with the situation or want to keep their names can, people who want to move from RP, PvP to PVE or vice versa can, WIN, WIN, WIN, WIN, WIN.
  12. I was hoping to create a Rattataki character with a class other than the three available. I unlocked the Rattataki class using Cartel Coins, but was disappointed to discover that the scar patterns available when creating a Rattataki Inquisitor were not available to any other class, including the Inquisitor's Jedi counterpart, the Consular. I pre-designed the character using the Inquisitor character editor expecting the scar pattern available there to be available to the Jedi Consular. Is this an oversight? Could the Inquisitor Rattatki scar patterns be enabled on the Consular Rattataki, or could all scar patterns be made available for selection? Part of the character's visual and role play concept are based on this particular scar pattern and I find it frustrating. that having purchased the unlock, I cannot create the exact character I wanted.
  13. Post a screenshot with the name check option indicated. Unless it's on the test server, I haven't seen it in the live character creator. I'm pretty sure that's why they have PvP servers.
  14. This part of my original post clearly indicates that the feature is already present. I'm just saying they need to use it to the benefit of players and transferees. I've got to say also that they should be conducting transfers of low population servers to middle population servers to create new high populations servers. Not Lows and Middles to Highs that now become Fulls. That's just ludicrous.
  15. One of the big problems that comes out of server transfers or mergers and just in general is the inability to use a name that you want; and more often then not, the name is being camped by someone who has simply created the character and never used them. I've had this happen to me in several MMO's and more than a few names that fit my legacy theme on SWTOR. Now being Australian and having experienced a server transfer earlier in the year I lost the name of my main transferring over and Bioware automatically assigns a random garbage name that needs to be changed before you can logon to the character. So I say, use this feature to help those transferring and those wanting camped names. Suggestion 1 Revoke all names on characters less than level 10 of players that have been unsubscribed for one month. This would free up a bountiful number of names that are likely never to be used. Furthermore. If a higher level character is transferring to a server with a <10 character of the same name that hasn't been logged into for a month, revoke the name on that character in favour of the transferee. Suggestion 2 Put a name check feature on the character creation page so that a player can check a names availability without having to create a character. Someone might be annoyed at losing their name, but their angst would be greatly reduced if they could just check a names availability without having to create a temporary character. Possible alternatives to this include a page on the SWTOR site that can check for a name on a particular server, or better still, check for the name's availability on ANY server (including Legacy Names) Suggestion 3 Include some way for player's to change their character and legacy names. There may be names in use that other players no longer like or would like to change to newly freed alternatives (because someone has deleted a camped name or Bioware has implemented these suggestions ) but can't because there is no mechanism. When it comes down to it, customisation is the KEY to MMO's. Player's want character's they like to play, not character's they are stuck wtih. This is MMOing 101. That's why people have been screaming for adaptable gear and why they are now crying out about names. Bioware! Lets see if we can help them.
  16. I *TOTALLY* agree. I want to create a Rattataki Jedi Counsuler and a Chiss Sith Warrior. A friend of mine wants to create a Miraluka Imperial Agent so he can have a blind sniper I agree. I'm not saying extend the Legacy across servers, just the race unlocks. I've actually themed two different legacies on each of the servers on which I play and don't want to blend them. Technically it shouldn't be too difficult to do. User name and password are account level pieces of information, it would just be a matter of adding race unlock flags to the data for the account, rather than the server.
  17. I play on a couple of servers, one in the American region and one in the Asia Pacific region. I have leveled a Zabrak Inquisitor to 50 and have that race unlocked on the American server but it is not unlocked on the Asia Pacific server. I'm a bit of a self admitted alt-o-holic and like to have a diverse range of classes and races. With 10 races available and only 8 slots per server wouldn't it make more sense to unlock classes for the account rather than the server. I'm not likely to create another Zabrak character on a server that already has one. I hate to pick on such a new feature and realise it's themed to the Legacy concept, but account wide unlocks seem to make more sense to allow you to eventually unlock all the classes. Also it might be nice to choose which class you unlock for each character that reaches 50, so you can chose the race you'd most prefer for your next level 50 character, rather than being stuck with the one you just played. If you need a legacy theme to fit this mechanic you could say that the father / mother was a NPC character of that race.
  18. The only thing I'd hazzard a guess at is that you won't go to Dalborra. Given the current load on all the servers, I suspect that they'll create a new server to move everyone who wants to move onto. This will certainly help resolve a number of potential problems including name conflicts.
  19. Which still begs the question if it's account wide or only one the server, since the server restriction would be negated by a character transfer, thus it seems to make more sense to be account based.
  20. I was just wondering with the legacy species unlock system, if I play say a Chiss Imperial Agent to level 50 on one server can I create a Chiss Jedi Knight on any server or just the server on which the level 50 agent resides?
  21. A fix for this would be add two enhancement slots. Lower level gear would have a single Tier 1 slot and higher level gear would have a Tier 1 enhancement slot and a Tier 2 enhancement slot. This way the player could create the desired combination of stats rather than having to have all possible combinations covered.
  22. Buy higher level schematics from the Armstech vendor.
  23. It would probably be good if they included the level at which it is intended to be Heroic. eg "[Level 6] Heroic 2+".
  24. I have a Sith (Inquisitor) Sorceror with the companion Khem Val. Yesteday I did the side mission "Sports Hunting" and noticed that when you chose the Dark side option you took a -30 hit for Khem Val's affection so I repeated the quest and found a sequence that canceled out this loss by follow these answers... Speak to Weng Wrightsyn. Calm Down! How Interesting… (+15) Speak to Renegin. In a hurry to leave? Pretty strange job. This is an odd turn of events. No. (+15) Stop begging–I’ll do it. I’ll kill your accuser (-30). Tag Weng Wrightsyn and return to Renegin for reward. This should equate to a +15 + 15 - 30 = 0. However when I got the mission summary screen, my overall affection for Khem Val was -30 and accepting the reward did reduce my affection from 115 to 85. Is this a bug or do you only get the most recent affection when completing a mission?
