  1. See those other two troopers with 150k+ healing? That's your secret.

If you don't die, you can do an awful lot of damage in a warzone regardless of your level or your spec.

I'd like to see you do 300k damage on a level 18 Assassin, even if you had 7 healers lol.

  2. I guess I will end up in the unclear vote section.

I'm not really sure to be honest, I find myself sometimes really enjoying the game, but then other times I find myself really hating it.

SWTOR is a great MMORPG that has consumed a lot of my time, but the game has some huge flaws and end-game content is becoming repetitive.

I read this quote somewhere; something is only repetitive if it becomes boring.

A lot of games can get away with being repetitive, look at any FPS out there like Call of Duty, they are built on the idea of repetition but people play them for years still having fun. The problem with SWTOR is just that; the fun factor. Something is missing and needs attention.

I can't exactly say what needs to be done, but I really think if something isn't done soon, SWTOR is going to become repetitive to a lot more people, and that will not be a good thing.

  3. OK. Maybe not completely useless, and no I won't be giving all of mine away before anyone asks - But is it just me, or does anyone else feel like Credits don't play much of a role in SWTOR?

I don't ever find myself spending credits on equipment. During the lower levels - spending planet commendations on item modifications seems to be the best way to get geared up. At level 50, raiding and PVP is all you need to get equipment.

I don't ever spend credits on consumables as I have biochem, for those that don't have biochem I would assume that they just wouldn't really bother with consumables, they're more of a luxury than a necessity.

Just about the only thing I ever spend credits on is repairing my equipment, and expanding inventory slots. I very rarely hear anyone saying they're going to go farm some credits, infact I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that so far. I wouldn't personally see the point, unless you wanted that 1,500,000 credit mount.

I guess in a way its a good thing, because I guess not many people would bother buying gold from gold selling websites. But does anyone else just find the economy in this game to be almost non-existent?

  4. No.. and i said i didn't mean any disrespect but I'm just saying.. ur opponents are day / night and that's all cuz of the specs that become complete etc, i found stuff alot easier in the 1-50 bracket, but even at 50.. after u get ur first few bits and knowing ur new opponents, it all goes well.. I hear all the qq about dps sins in pvp.. yet there's no other class / spec i'd rather play atm.

I always find it funny when people say things like "Theres no other class I'd rather play" when they haven't ever even played the other ones before.

  5. I find the people saying that we "can't tank" somewhat interesting.

My friend and I both play assassins, yet fill different roles in our guild. He MT's, and I DPS. We're both more than capable of fulfilling our roles without a problem. It's very rare that he loses aggro on anything other than large number AOE pulls, despite our raid DPS being what I'd consider above average, given how fast things tend to die. ALso, our healers don't have a hard time keeping him up.

He PVP's regularly along with me, me playing deception, and he will top tables due to protection medals, defender points, and in a lot of cases, damage done, due to his significantly better AOE options.

Granted, his single target damage is a lot lower than mine, but that's why Dark Charge increases threat. If the tank spec did the same/more damage than deception, then we truly would be a broken class.

TL;DR version: Whilst our tanking talents are far from perfect at the moment, competent players are more than capable of making the most of them without a problem. If you aren't one of said competent players, then stop the QQ, and just reroll, and save us having to listen to your whining.

If you took the time to read the first line of the original post, you would have known that this thread wasn't aimed at you in the first place.

  6. If you're a juggernaut complaining about tanking, I can understand that. But your an assassin playing a tank spec and complaining your not as good as classes intended to play as tanks in the initial phase of an mmo... Was it the light armor that convinced you to try tanking ? Even the talent tree itself indicates minimal damage evasion/mitigation. Respec or Reroll.

So what you're saying is Assassin isn't meant to tank?

Kinda strange that they made a tank tree, tank skills and tank equipment. Very strange.

  7. "I play an assassin........as a tank........in a situation were i should be playing as an ASSASSIN"

    Stupid people are stupid

My 36 sin hit a 4.2k crit on another player today with maul, 2 lvls higher than me.

    hybrid spec

    /Thread

So you're saying that Level 36 DPS Spec can do more damage than a Level 50 Tank with 500 Expertise?

Because your Maul costs 50% less energy?

    What am I missing here?

  8. first off before i even bother to telling you are wrong, go get rid of your gosh darn tank gear get dps gear spec dps and have fun...good grief dude...

im only a lvl 14 assassin and i couldnt be having more effin fun...so many people compare this that and the other to other classes, i did this to when i first started, but when i dropped that mindset and played the game for what it was my fun level jumped from 50 to 1337 in a couple days time...

PLAY AN ASSASSIN FOR WHAT IT IS - AN ASSASSIN!

I'll be there in spirit laughing at you when you hit 50 and regret all that wasted time and effort.

  9. Can't say about tankadins.. but in pvp they seem fairly powerfull foes, ok not the highest damage.. but still very formidable and their survivability is pretty damn great.

Now when it comes to dpsing ( i'm one of those strong deception believers ) i think u couldn't be further off the truth tbh.. due to bad luck i only have about 3 pieces of pvp armor and the weapon.. i'm currently rank 51 and i tell u, i can rip people to shreds if played correctly.. learn ur opponents, learn to counter them.. watch them die and see nice numbers flying around like 4k+.. true story!

    Cool story bro.

But numbers do not lie. I have never seen a 4k crit on my Assassin who has around 10 peices of champion pvp gear. Regardless of how well I play, it makes no difference, my character is not capable of a 4k crit.

  10. You're completely wrong in every way when it comes to tanking. Juggernauts and Guardians are widely considered the weakest tanks in the game.

Say that to the main tank of my guild who runs Nightmare EV & KP weekly.

  11. This post is aimed at anyone thinking about rolling an Assassin, seriously, you have been warned. Don't.

I thought things would get better when I got geared up, My Assassin is now almost full Champion PVP geared, roughly 500 expertise and full tank specced.

My damage sucks. I find it EXTREMELY hard to get the 2.5k damage in one hit medal in Warzones. Ok, fair enough that because I'm tank spec I shouldn't really be expecting to be doing the most damage in a Warzone, I understand that, but the numbers that I am doing are so pathetic that even in Flashpoints and Operations I am not even a good tank because I can't even cause enough threat on enemies to keep them on me when up against good DPSers. I am forced into spamming my "threat" skills, that don't even seem to cause any actual threat, they just trick targets into attacking me for 6 seconds, then poof, they go straight after the dps.

    As a tank Assassin:

    - The damage output in comparison to a Juggernaut is significantly lower.

    - The threat against targets in comparison to a Juggernaut is significantly lower.

    - The damage absorbed in comparison to a Juggernaut due to light armor is significantly lower.

Basically as a tank, there is reason I can think of as to why any guild would choose an Assassin as their main tank over a Juggernaut. It is just not as good in any way. Even as an offtank, guilds may aswell just get another Juggernaut.

As a DPS class, the Assassin is also inferior. Burst damage is close to non-exsistant. In comparison to an Operative, who can burst and kill targets in seconds - the Assassin just does not have anything like it. The Assassin is overall a much slower killer.

The fact that the class has to rely on so many self-buffs just to pull off some mediocre damage, is what ruins the class. The Assassin has to use skills like Thrash and Shock, repetitively in order to get a proc and then "unleash" their burst damage, which is - to be honest, crap.

After playing an Assassin to 50 and a Sniper to 50, I can easily say that as a DPS class, the Sniper, by far out damages the Assassin. Geared or Ungeared. PVP and PVE.

Completely dissapointed with this class, time to roll something else.

  12. I would have to agree with this.

1- Its a daily. No reason for it to take all day, more so with the bug 3 wins means 6.

2-The matchmaking system is flawed one team will have fresh 50s the other stacked BMs and we all know there is no way a fresh 50 with 2-3 champ items will even tickle a fully geared BM.

3- AFKers take your team to 8v8 to 7v8 so your down on your luck there.

4-People quitting... I dont need to go into that at all..

5- Medals once someone has their wins its all they care about.

6(most important of all) - One faction will always have the advantage due to gear. as it stands on my server Emps outnumber Reps 3-1 or 4-1 cant remember exactly so as it is since they have fewer numbers they have more/better geared player in the WZ compared to emps who have a higher chance of getting someone not geared.

I agree with the poster, the daily to win 3 Warzones is by far the most annoying/ frustrating part of the game. Its very inconsistent some days it takes me 3 wins and they all count other days ive played 30 games and get nothing.

And its always sad to see a valor rank 25 in full champ gear while your valor 50 still in Cent gear. The system is flawed thats that. Yes i know they are planning to make it better but still with bags being the only way to get gear..so no matter what they do with it its still based on luck.

There are tons of work around for Bioware to fix this.. trash the wins and make it a valor/medal/objective points per game for the daily.

My favorite make the gear able to be purchased for warzone/merc marks and the daily/weekly bags just a bonus. first you buy cent gear for x amount of tokens then at rank whatever you can take your Cent gear+ X amount of tokens and trade it in for Champ gear and so on.

Does anyone even know the reasoning the blue set was taken out of the game in the first place?

As it stand Bioware needs to do something about this..

    Great post +1

  13. Then don't.

If you don't enjoy it, don't do it.

If you read through this thread a lot of people agree that the current system is flawed. Especially for the players who do not have the current requested time to invest. When enough people are against something, it is usually a sign that something needs to be changed.

I'm sure if BioWare read through this post they would notice that there are a lot of people for the change.

Ignorant statements like yours above, are really not needed here.

Anyway, I still think that 3 wins a day is far too much. Not only does it almost force everyone into what can be an extremely lengthy daily quest - it almost promotes match quitting.

I do agree that having "Play 6 Warzone Matches" could promote AFK, so a comprimise would be to have it as "Play 6 Warzone Matches or Win 2 Warzone Matches" or something similar to that would resolve the problem.

This would help lower the amount of quitters AND have a low chance of AFKers.

  14. Are you seriously asking this game to reward you for continued failures? What's next? Operations bosses should drop loot even when you fail to kill them to reward your attempt. If I find out you're on my server, I will dedicate my life to ganking your dumb *** for such a stupid idea.

Incase you're new to SWTOR. The game already has quests each 10 levels for "Warzone Matches Played 0/1"

I would like these quests back, as dailys.

6-8 Losses or 3 wins per day would be fine.

PS: I'd probably roflstomp you anyway.

  15. Yup, they need to change it. The PvE daily takes a whooping 20 minutes running HM BT. The minimum it takes to finish the PvP daily is about an hour with 3 straight lucky wins.

Just make it 6-8 games which is a minimum of 2 hours+.. I mean seriously, I think that is pretty fair for doing a daily. You can finish EV in about the same time and do the weekly. Plus this would keep people in a losing game or people who q into a losing game.

Right now when I join a 5-0 huttball game and there is 7 minutes left, I leave immediately. The time investment for reward in pvp versus pve is extremely skewed in pve favor, why pvpers want to keep it this way is beyond me especially considering columni/rataka can rival pvp gear.

Exactly my point. Seriously the way it is right now it can easily take 5hours + just to complete the daily. That is a heavy investment of time that I simply cannot do now.

When I first started playing I was on holiday, but now that I'm back at University it is sometimes impossible to finish the daily. 2 hours investment I could live with. 5-6 hours investment is just stupid.

  16. No.

The purpose of the warzone is to win.

If you can't come together as a team to accomplish victory, you deserve nothing in defeat.

You already get a bonus for winning, why do you need the quest to be a bonus too.

Some of us don't wanna sit around playing warzones for 10 hours a day.

  17. This is my Number 1, most annoying thing I hate about this game.

I feel like I am forced to do the daily PVP quests as the rewards are so good, but I hate the fact that you have to win matches to get it.

Why is my participation alone not enough. It should be changed to Warzone Matches Played. Some days it can take over 5 hours to get 3 wins. Not everyone has a premade PVP team.

I have played some days and my team has lost easily 10 games in a row. I usually finish in the top 3 players in each game but my participation means nothing because if the team doesnt win, the rewards *********** suck.

Please change this it's so annoying.

  18. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me...

I have instant Whirlwind, Spike and Electrocute.

I have NEVER been able to land all 3 against an opponent. I spike them, and then it seems like if I use Electrocute or Whirlwind, they just don't work?

It's like it doesn't even say resist.

Does EVERY class in the game have an ability that lets them be immune to stun effect for like 10 seconds or something? What am I missing here? Is it impossible to stunlock in SWTOR?

I've tried this on atleast 50 people with no luck..
